Santana - Still a powerhouse of musical experience
by bill from orangeville on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5First time I saw Santana was back in the 70's (??) at Massey Hall with John McLaughlin. Several times since. Every time (this time too) I get the tingle that goes with a special experience: this is an absolute Icon of music, and he is right 'here'! He lives up to the expectation. Time is immaterial. His set list in Toronto was a walk through the '70s foundation that made him famous: opening with Soul Sacrifice and Jingo - reminiscent of Woodstock. Followed by more recent items. Wow. It was incredible. Even when he turns 90 and has lost some of his skills, he will still be SANTANA. He is a person of huge value to our cultural history and still plays music that elevates the soul.
