  • Santana - Still a powerhouse of musical experience

by bill from orangeville on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

First time I saw Santana was back in the 70's (??) at Massey Hall with John McLaughlin. Several times since. Every time (this time too) I get the tingle that goes with a special experience: this is an absolute Icon of music, and he is right 'here'! He lives up to the expectation. Time is immaterial. His set list in Toronto was a walk through the '70s foundation that made him famous: opening with Soul Sacrifice and Jingo - reminiscent of Woodstock. Followed by more recent items. Wow. It was incredible. Even when he turns 90 and has lost some of his skills, he will still be SANTANA. He is a person of huge value to our cultural history and still plays music that elevates the soul.

  • The Show was spectacular..

  • Over 50 touring and going strong

Mystical and inspiring, There is a reason why Carlos has been one the best acts on the planet for +50 years.

  • Awful organization

by SMC on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

many gates did not open until after the concert started. Arrived an hour early only to miss a large portion of the show due to disorganization and lack of preparation. Very upset about the money spent.

  • Amazing!

by Marco on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

We arrived at the Budweiser Stage @ 6:00 pm, it took 1 hr & 40 minutes to get to our seats, missing part of the Earth, Wind and Fire performance. The concert was spectacular, but organization terrible, that's why I only give 3 stars.

  • Santana & Earth Wind & Fire

by TJ on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Kept tickets from Aug.2020 which was cancelled due to COVID-19, and glad that we did! A great evening and great memories...they all sounded great and Carlos Santana is still an amazing guitarist...he still has it all together!

  • Poor experience

by Patrick on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

When you charge excessively high prices for drinks and they are sold and served at nearly room temperature as you did - nothing about that is okay. Will not attend this venue again for any concert since you cannot get the basics right.

  • show itself was amazing!!

by rick on 2022-08-11Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

show was great! getting into the Budweiser stage was a complete joke!! using your phone to get in slowed it down to a crawl!! arrived at 5:20 sat in my seat at 7:28!!!

  • Louder, please!

by Lainie on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I went to see Earth, Wind & Fire because they are my all time favourite group and I have seen them at least ten times to date. Unfortunately, this was my least appreciated concert. First of all it took 45 minutes to get through the opening gates as the line up was slow and ridiculously long. We missed 20 minutes of the show which turned out to be E,W&F (we thought the opening act would have been Santana, but they came on second). Next, we didn’t think the mixing and sound system for E,W&F was loud enough. Finally, it appeared many patrons from the grass seat section were coming down into the empty seats in front of us and then moving once the real ticket holders arrived which was very disruptive and blocked our view for more than half the concert. I would have thought the Budweiser Stage, Toronto would be more organized in getting people to their seats quickly and efficiently and also prevent people from squatting in other patrons seats by checking tickets. Very disappointed with the event which I had been looking forward to since before Covid.

  • Dont Go to Budweiser Stage

by Not Happy on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Walked from go train to be met by a pathway perhaps 8 feet wide - steel fencing 6 feet high on either side. It was like we were being herded on our way to slaughter. When we finally got to the security entrance to get into the venue we were met with confusion. Where do you line up? There looked to be 3 kind of lines but nobody new where to go. Everyone was being merged into a very small space. Once you got through security the confusion continued. Credit to Earth Wind and Fire for starting on time but we missed 15 minutes of the show. Many people behind us in line missed considerably more. What would happen in the event of an emergency and the venue needed to be emptied. No doubt many would be injured, or God forbid, worse DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE UNTIL THEY FIX THIS PROBLEM. SURELY LIVE NATION IS AWARE OF THIS. Live Nation is more than willing to take your money but unwilling to offer the experience you have every right to expect

  • Wonder Concert

by Tallboy on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Was so nice to see two fantastic artists on one bill. Sent me back to the days growing up listening to their music. They are awesome. Loved the cross mixture of the crowd. My only complaint would be the lineup prior to entering, I missed some of the opening act EWF before I was inside the gate.

  • Awful crowd management

by Stéphane on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

Unfortunately the Budweiser Stage was not able to manage the entry gate. We got off the train at Exhibition at 6:20 and only got inside the venue at 7:40. The bottleneck at the gate was a case study on how to mismanage a crowd. You would think it was their first time doing it. We missed the first 30 minutes of the EW&F show. Both bands were great but unfortunately this was my last time at the BS. The place is not well ran. Too bad for the artists, it's not their fault the venue is poorly ran.

  • Great

by LyndiLou on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was absolutely great. His wife on the drums was unbelievable and so very talented. The other people who played instruments and who sang were also amazing. Loved the show.

  • Santana/Earth, Wind and Fire

by John on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concert that I have ever seen. Lots of energy with percussions and horns.

  • Security Issue

    by K. E. on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 1 out of 5

Great show BUT - you need to have 4 times as many people doing security checks when you have a sold-out show. As it was they did useless perfunctory checks because 15000 people were trying to get through a few gates. If your goal was to spend as little as possible on gate security just to be able to say you did it while ticking of the concert-goers then you succeeded.

  • Great concert - huge lineups

by HIPFAN on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Both bands put on an amazing show; both being amazingly talented. Too bad so many of the Earth Wind and Fire fans left before Santana came on! They could have expanded their musical knowledge! Unfortunately a great many people missed the beginning of the show; myself included; even though we were there 1 1/2 hours early. The line ups were 6 deep from the Go Station to the entrance the Budweiser Stage! Get with the program and expand the entrances to the shows - getting in was horrific!!!

  • At odds.

by Photopunks on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Even though I am a big fan of Carlos Santana I feel that the Budwiser Stage let us down. I arrived at 5:30pm and the crowd was huge. Halfway across the CNE grounds. Extrenely hot and a few people did pass out as a result of the heat. With no help from the stage staff or first aiders. The gates opened at 7pm but with the huge crowd it was well after 7pm before we got in. By that time the openers were almost half way through their set. And when Carlos Santana came on there were just so many people sanding that he could not be seen by anyone who wasn't in the front. Will I ever go again? Not to the Budweiser Stage that is for sure.

  • Nightmare getting in...totally worth it though!!!

by VOODOOFUNK on 2022-08-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

1 1/2 Hrs in a slow moving line on a hot and humid evening...doors opened at 6...got there at 6:10...not in my seat until 7:35...missed 20 minutes of Earth, Wind & Fire!!! >:( Once in my seat it was immediately evident that this was a 'State of the Art Performance/Presentation'...and when Santana took the stage quickly became the best concert I have ever seen...and this was my 6th time seeing him!!! Given the nightmarish delay in getting to my seat this might be the last 'Rock' Concert I will attend...and certainly the last time I go to the Budweiser Stage.
