Canadian rocker Serena Ryder is a rare talent who's trailblazing the way for a unique breed of folk rock. Her three-octave voice stands at the forefront of her performances, and whether she's shredding on her Gibson for her single "Stompa" or sweetly singing Band of Horses' "The Funeral," Ryder proves she's a dynamic entertainer with a killer voice and fierce guitar skills. Back on the road, she'll treat ticket buyers to an exciting string of Canadian tour dates, delighting fans with her power-punched sets.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Canada, Serena Ryder got her start penning songs at 11, drawing inspiration from legends like Leonard Cohen and the Beatles and learning to play guitar a few years later. Before long she was sharing her music with the local community, performing at local gigs in the Quebec arts community and singing alongside bands Three Days Grace and Thousand Foot Krutch. She scored her first record deal at just 18, leading to her major label debut in 2005 with Unlikely Emergency. With eight Juno Awards, a number of Top 10 hits, and several gold and platinum-certified records under her belt, Ryder has definitely made a name for herself in her native Canada. Back on the road, she gives ticket buyers plenty to look forward to as she heads out for an exciting Canadian tour.
This was a fantastic show. So full of energy! Wonderful interpretation of holiday classics and her greatest hits as an encore. Serena is so personable and funny! The time just flew by. Loved every minute of it!
This happens every time I go to Regent for an event so need to speak up. Your parking lot is a frustrating maze and by the time I finally find a spot I am so fed up it's hard to get back in the mood for a good time. It would pay off big time for you to have parking lot attendants directing people to open spots and putting up cones to close off areas that are full.
Wonderful musician playing in the Winspear theatre for her Merry Myth tour. The smoke on stage and throughout the beautiful theatre took away the merry for me !

Serena and the Calgary philharmonic were absolutely magnificent!! Why is the sound system in your theatre so awful? You couldn’t understand the lyrics.
This was one of the best concerts I have been to. Serena Ryder was fantastic she had the crowd so involved and along with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra was extra special. There should be more artists like this platform with the orchestra it was such a great evening.
Went on my own and had a great evening. Love Serena Ryder and love CPO. Can't wait for the next event.
I can't believe what a fabulous voice Miss Ryder has although I have been a fan. She could sing the phone book The Philharmonic was a great back up on some of her songs. Has her recording company thought about an album of standards for her? She would be great.
Wow, Serena Ryder is more powerful and fun than ever. No preaching, no politics, just belting it out! I’d forgotten how good CPO is, the collaboration was just OK. Rather see this great artist on stage either alone or with her own band. Wait, a collaboration with Amanda Marshall…. that might be amazing.
A fantastic show. Serena was outstanding as always. Songs of all the albums and many of my favourites. The symphony as backup was a special treat. Great show, would go again in a minute.
Was an awesome concert! Loved that the Calgary Philharmonic played with her! This is the 4th time seeing her and her voice is so powerful! She is way better live!
Serena was powerful, fun and absolutely amazing. Calgary Phil, as always, put on a perfectly beautiful performance. The interaction between orchestra and Serena was notable and everyone seemed to have mutual respect, admiration and JOY!
Serena sounded beautiful accompanied by the orchestra. She was casual, largely unscripted and clearly delighted. Her enthusiasm was contagious. Orchestra was impressive. Fun night of fine entertainment.
I am a greater fan after seeing her live. Absolutely awesome talent. This was our first time seeing the orchestra and it was a wonderful experience. They are also amazing. This is how this venue should be used. A mostly acoustic concert highlights the acoustics of the room.

She is an amazing singer and has an amazing personality. My sister is her biggest fan and she talked to her and complimented the t-shirt she made. By the end of the concert my sister was in tears! She really knows how to work a crowd!!

Love Serena’s music but had terrible sound system, worst concert I’ve been to unfortunately, almost walked out!
