  • so you think you can dance was incredible

by elric on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was so impressed with the dancers. They have improved tenfold since the show. I was also impressed with the comedy and the mic work from the dancers. I will definetly go to the next show. The crowd loved every minute of it.

  • SYTYCD not so great this year

    by Survivor7 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

This year too much time was wasted with video clips of the dancers and tryouts that were often duplicated. A taped message was shown promoting Dizzy Feet which as far as I know does not apply to dancers in Canada nor was I told how to support the program. This was the same message that I saw as a regular viewer of the show. I saw and enjoyed all the great routines of the past season but would have liked to see at least one classical ballroom number. Even though this years dancers all performed their routines wonderfully I still felt that they were not quite as memorable as past top tens. P.S. The heading for this survey says SYTYCD Live Tour 2006 - a problem with dyslexia?

  • So much fun, so many emotions

by kuponoisthebest on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

My cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing at the end of the night. And there were a few sad, touching moments mixed in between. Kupono in those shorts promoting the video almost made me pee my pants laughing. That guy has so much more than just dance talent. He is going to be a big entertainer someday. I wish the screens were bigger and clearer for showing close ups. I was far back and it would have helped alot. Oh yeah and Kupono .................... luv luv that addiction dance. For me, I found something else in the meaning. It described a relationship I once had with a boy, who was bad for me, and in a way to whom I felt addicted and unable to get away from.

  • SYTYCD tour

    by katie222 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Venue was a bit too large for watching dancers. Really could have used a big screen in the middle of the venue hanging from the ceiling to watch (there was one, but it was not being used for some reason). The only video screen was way down beside the stage and was not very big from my location and unsatisfying to watch. There was another screen behind the dancers that was bigger, but they never used it ito display performances. Also, the pre-taped Kat Deely voice was a bit odd. It would have been better to have a live person announcing things.

Just an incredible display of art at its finest. That's right, this wasn't just dancing, this was an event! Everyone was amazing and knocked us out with their talent. Breathtaking!

  • Pros and Cons

by sublymonal on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

For one, the dancers never disappoint. It's always fun to watch some of the best acts from the show unfold before you eyes. The in between banter from the dancer is always fun too and watching the group pieces, all in sync, is just wild. The one thing this show lacked was a good balance between the dancers. Some dancers, like Evan, who came in third and only got two numbers and his solo, got little attention in comparison to the others. As an Evan fan, I was a little disappointed. That, and the venue, for some forsaken reason, decided to do the autograph signing outside where it was 5 degrees and left everyone in the cold for over an hour, waiting for the dancers to come out. Not pleasant in the least. The show itself, however, was quite good.

  • Highlights of the SYTYCD season...good times!

    by josie96 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

This show just got better and better. We got to see our favourite dancers, and they even brought back Phillip and Caitlin. Phillip got the first standing ovation of the evening for his solo number, soon to be followed by Brandon's ovation, and the ovation for the cancer dance with Melissa and Ade. We were treated to some of the most popular dance numbers of the season, as well as one new group number. Kapono was hilarious with his commercial interludes. I didn't expect to smile and laugh as much as I did, but thoroughly enjoyed the show from start to finish. What a great night out. Highly recommended for SYTYCD fans!

  • So You Think You Can Dance tour 2009

by RickyA on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

All of the dancing was absolutely excellent!! Whoever the writers are who wrote the dialogue for the dancers deserves a lot of credit. It was always interesting and SO funny!!! The on-going Russian dance "story-line" was hilarious, and when all of the dancers came out and actually performed a complete Russian dance, it was magnificent! They are all wonderful entertainers! After the show, every dancer came outside for an autograph signing and picture taking! That was certainly a highlight for my daughter! We will definitely go to another show again!

  • So You Think You can Dance tour season 5

    by Lovedancing64 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Lots of fun! 3 hour show including intermission- Over 30 dance numbers All the best routines from Season 5 The dancers shared the task of being hosts with little bits of homour thrown in Didnt look like the floor seating would be a good choice but the 2nd level seats we had were perfect

  • Somehow disappointing

by FrenchGirlLovesCountry on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The dancers and the choreographies are really top class, excellent performances and very artistic. However I did not like all the talking in between the routines ; the video clips are good and fun. But, I don't need to hear (again) the story, the dancers' names, the choreagraphers and what Nigel said, what Adam said and how much Marie screamed... I followed the season on TV already !! My expectation was to enjoy the many performances as a sequence of outstanding moments. Besides, it was nice to see the top 10 of SYTYCD Canada on stage. But, they could have done some dancing. What's the point ?! Yeap... quite disappointing !

Last night, my fiance and I went to go see So You Think You Can Dance which I had gotten as her christmas gift. Myself, being a fanatic of live shows and the technical aspect behind it, I really enjoyed all the amount of work that was put into the end result. My fiance loved the dancing and was very excited to have been able to see a show that she said was "rediculously awesome!!!!"

  • not as good as last year

by countrylady on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

think there was too much video montages through out the show, the dancing was good but it lacked the excitement or spark that last years show had tv was on directly in front of our seats showing boxing and hockey until intermission - very distracting and irritating - when they turned them off there was no transmission of the videos that were showing on stage - went from irritating to black - could not see the on stage screens very well - even the side ones- they could have been turned more to the side for the poor suckers on the side

  • So You Think You Can Dance was amazing!

by clone on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This years version of SYTYCD was extremely well produced. The dancers were spectacular as was expected and the spots of comic relief were well timeda The dancer intros at the beginning of each routine were good, but in some cases the mikes might have been a little too loud for the individual speaking. All in all, the perfromance was memorable and I would definitely reccomend anyone to see this show if it becomes available to them.

by PennyLou on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

it was amazing! everything was so well done, the music wasn't too loud, the dancers were phenomenal. my only regret is not buying my tickets sooner. also, the dancers were gracious enough to sign autographs and take pictures after the show. overall, a wonderful experience!

  • Wwwelllllllll...

by Andypants on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The dancers are amazing there's no question. The whole set-up of the "tour" left much to be desired. I would have been more comfortable in my living room! It was basically a repeat of the season's highlights which, while wonderful the first, second and third time on tv, was not what I expected for the tour. I would have liked to see more new choreography; (I know there was some but not enough), and I also felt there could have been more dance and less banter.

  • SYTYD Show Entertaining!!

    by Minnie11 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show started on time, it was well organized, and very entertaining. It was neat to see the actual dancers hosting the show; but, of course, no one can beat the hosting skills of Cat! Hip Hop dancer, Phillip got the most applause out of everyone which was well deserved as he brings such uniqueness to his dance style. All in all, if I had to rate the show--I would rate it 7.5 out 10. It was perfect for the 8 year old to the 80 year old :)

  • Sheer Entertainment

    by Smiley01 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

My first tour and it was a night of sheer enjoyment and entertainment! Dancers were superb and it was great to see the details of their faces and their costumes. I particularly enjoyed the way the Russian Folk Dance was incorporated into the evening - brilliant!

The "So You Think You Can Dance" tour was amazing and unforgettable! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who watches the show. It showed all the best dances from the season and the dancers hosted the show brilliantly and enthusiastically. I had a great time and I hope to go again next year!

I just love the performance of all the participants. Not only were they great dancers and entertainers they were great speakers. My 10 month grandaughter clapped and danced all through the show.
