  • Missing the showmanship

by dlife on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

All the dancers were very flexible and could do a crazy amount of pirouettes but only Jess really came to entertain. Since I've been to every single SYTYCD tour season, I can safely say that this was the worst. The great majority of the dancers were very weak in hip hop, and even though they tried to cover it up on TV, it was obvious during the tour, especially during the final number which was very fun - we were all on our feet dancing along - but many of the contemporary dancers looked extremely awkward trying to bust a hip hop move. They also recreated some of the all-star dances with this season's Top 10 which, while it was a good idea because we wanted to see them, didn't actually work out because of varying skill levels. Finally, they cut out all the talking between numbers and flowed directly into different pieces, which actually worked for the most part. I think this was the most actual dancing I've ever seen in any SYTYCD tour. In conclusion, I don't think I would have ever said this before I saw this season's tour, but I would rather see a few less extensions and more personality when it comes to paying money to see the tour. Better luck next time!

  • SYTYCD8 2011 Tour the best yet!

by DJDeepStrut on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Compared to previous tours, this season's show was the best so far. A lot of that had to do with the talent as each year the talent gets better. The most signifigant virtue was the production itself which was more organic in it's flow from dance to dance. Previous season's tours were more structured around counting up from the #10 dancer to #1. Also this year was more technical elements enhancing the show. Next season should be even better.

Took my two boys, ages 9 and 10 and they had a blast. Really enjoyed meeting the dancers after the show for signatures. To bad Sasha was sick. We were all very excited to see Nick on the tour.

  • SYTYCD - Best show ever

by WCSDancer on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I loved the change in format of the shows. That is, there was less talking and more dancing. I loved the new routines that were added to the show.

The show was amazing. The dancers were great. Loved the numbers that we saw on Television. Would have loved to see Cat Deeley The only complaint was that the sound was way too loud. Even the announcers voices were distorted.

  • Worth the travel

I came all the way from Montreal to watch this show and it was great!! Me & my friends had a lot of fun. I would have liked the dancers to talk on the stage though, to make it more fun and have more of a connection than a bunch of dancers with presentation video.

  • SYTYCD - was an awesome show

by KerryK on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

A friend and I attended the SYTYCD tour on Sunday. The show was awesome, incorporating dance routines that had been on the show as well as some new items. The dancers were so wonderful and powerful it was truly awesome.

  • SYTYCD US Tour

by dancequeen on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show! There was so much dancing - literally one dance number after another. A full 2 hrs + of dancing. Only one of my favourite dances wasn't performed.

  • SYTYCD - Fantastic show

by Anonymous on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show on Sunday night was the best one to date. So much better than past years. Thank goodness they replaced the "non stop babble" with amazing dancing! The way the choreographer transitioned the group numbers into duets was excellent. Loved every minute of the show.

  • Best SYTYCD Tour yet!

by lalababy on 2011-10-11Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was beautiful and the arrangement of the numbers was done beautifully. There wasn't the awkward "trying to be funny" banter between the dancers as they introduced the routines. Rather each routine flowed into the next without ever really stopping. What was even better was each of the top 10 got to perform a 1 minute solo rather than the usual 30 seconds! This was a real treat because we got to see them dance their hearts out in a well thought out, choreographed solo which showed them all off to their best potential.

From the time we entered the theatre everything was fantastic. The staff is so polite and helpful. The venue is beautiful. The seats and leg room were great. The show was great. Not a boring moment. Time passed so quickly, the choreography was mesmerizing. The dancers were a joy to watch. The costumes were beautiful. The talent was over the top.

  • Going strong with Season 8 tour

    by Starbuck25 on 2011-10-09Air Canada Center - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Just an amazing performance by the group and wonderful to relive some great performances. However, the new group numbers were fantastic including a high energy finish which had the crowd up and stomping. I think Marko was injured as he was suspiciously missing in some numbers. Overall, great though.

  • Very good but not briliiant this time around...

by CanadianDanceMom on 2010-11-28Valley View Casino Center - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Show was very good but lacking something this time (we go to both the US and Canadian tour every year). I'm not sure the new format carried over into the tour all that well. I come to see the original dancers of a piece - not substitutions of whose available for the tour. This didn't happen on the old tours. The substitutes did a good job on the dances, but it just isn't the same... Also, with the exception of Dominic, the between dance presentations were a little boring as well - past years were more entertaining. Overall though, the dancing was amazing as always and well worth the money and travel all the way from Canada just to see these fantastic dancers - their hard work and talent are inspiring.

  • SYTYCD 7 Tour was amazing

    by SueB60 on 2010-11-09Tacoma Dome - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

Again, So You Think You Can Dance Season 7 including Season 6 winner was truly amazing. With all the All Stars not available or being replaced by another one or the Season 6 winner, all of the dances were performed as they had been on the show. Russell outdid himself and Lauren and Kent were incredible. The new dance with Lauren and all the guys was terrific and even those dances that included all the cast even though one or two were just finished their last dance were seamless in the joining of the dance in progress. Five gals and 7 guys was just right the show was about 2 hours of pure joy and fun. I was not going to go next time because it is so far to go but will rethink this due to the usual outstanding production put on by this organization. We were also thrilled to see that the most amazing, incredible, terrific, outstanding dance with Alex Wong and Twitch was included in the show even if it was by video.
