About

SZA has been a game-changer in R&B ever since she became the first female artist to sign to the independent hip-hop label Top Dawg Entertainment, joining the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and ScHoolboy Q. The New Jersey-raised Grammy-winning artist  self-released two EPs before partnering with TDE in 2013 to distribute her breakthrough EP Z, which charted on the Billboard 200 and featured the certified-gold single “Child’s Play” with Chance the Rapper. While preparing her highly-anticipated debut album Ctrl, SZA co-wrote songs like the Nicki Minaj-Beyoncé collaborative single “Feeling Myself” as well as “Consideration” from Rihanna’s 2016 album Anti. Ctrl arrived in 2017, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 behind Top 40 singles like “Love Galore” and “The Weekend” and earning five Grammy nominations. SZA would win her first Grammy as a featured artist on Doja Cat’s 2021 single “Kiss Me More,” and gained further mainstream notoriety following collaborations with Maroon 5, Cardi B and Summer Walker. Her second album SOS debuted at No. 1 in late 2022 and topped the Billboard 200 for 10 non-consecutive weeks. In 2023, SZA earned her first two Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers with SOS’ “Kill Bill” and the Drake collaboration “Slime You Out.”

LOVED THE PERFORMANCE...that I got to see :/

by kayla! on 2023-03-01Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Lined up at 6:15 pm for the original 7 pm door time, which then got pushed to 8 pm. The directions we were being given made it seem like the staff members weren't told there'd be a concert, and overall it just felt like Scotiabank Arena's first time holding an event. Finally got in at 9:10 all to find out that Omar Apollo had already completed his set. Sza was amazing and went above and beyond, but half the venue had missed a whole hour of the show and an entire act. Getting these tickets was far from easy, and I just think it's unfair I paid 200+, to then only receive half of what I was ecstatic about :(

    Magical

by Dej on 2023-03-01Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Sza put on such a beautiful and entertaining performance, I had such a good view meaning countless videos to relive the moment! However the venue was PACKED, we had to wait outside in the freezing cold for about 30 minutes and then inside was also extremely full. This one worker was extremely ignorant and rude as well and gave my friends an issue about their tickets because her phone broke and had to transfer the tickets to her sisters phone to show them, apparently ticket transferring isn’t allowed?? I don’t get why ticketmaster would have that option then…BUT we spoke to other members of the staff and they were confused why he was giving us a hard time and allowed us to find our seats. I had to give 4 stars for that overall experience , but when sza came on stage it was amazing!!!! I need to see her perform again.

    Security was terrible

by Sally on 2023-03-01Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The door time for tonight’s Sza concert at Scotiabank Arena has been delayed from 7:00 to 8:00. When we were closer to the gate, security was incredibly messy and wasn't giving clear instructions. Everything was unorganized and hard to follow. The concert itself was one of the best nights of my life.

    The talented and beautiful SZA!

by Angion on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Other than the freakin long ass line to wait for like 2 hours, SZA tore the house down! She’s is so beautiful and talented in person, I didn’t want to leave. Actually the staff told us to leave literally 5 minutes after she left the stage. So the venue experience deserves 3 stars. SZA deserves 10/5 stars!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Come back SZA, I miss you already 😍

    Do Better Scotiabank

    by K on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

First of all, SZA was amazing.. Magical, talented, angelic, ethereal, 1000/10 performer and singer. My issue lies with Scotiabank Arena.. I understand doors opening late but the gates were a MESS. No proper security or safety. No proper lines and there was a lot of pushing. It was very unsafe. Never in my life have I experienced a concert where this happened, especially at Scotiabank Arena. I’ve been to concerts at this arena with more people in attendance and it was still organized and nobody was trampling each other. What’s going on? Also merch lines were unreasonably long.

    AMAZING 🌊🤍

by kitkat on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The set and playlist and atmosphere was amazing! It was my first time seeing SZA live and she was incredible. I only wished I was seated closer to the stage, but I loved the visuals of her set and the set list of songs she performed were everything! ALSO, cannot forgot about her special guest, Omar Apollo! I had only started recently listening to him prior so it was a great surprise to see he would also be performing. I would definitely attend another SZA concert!

    Unfortunate First Concert Experience

by Liz H on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The organizers told everyone to be there at 7 for the doors to open. Then they pushed it back by an hour, so the concert should also get pushed back an hour too right? No, that did not happen. Omar Apollo started playing his set less than 30 minutes after the doors opened with probably half the stadium in attendance. The venue was incredibly disorganized and I only barely made it in time to see SZA's set, which ALSO got cut short(open arms was not even played). The stress of getting in and missing part of what I paid for was only barely offset by the amazingness that is SZA. I was really excited to hopefully get some merch before the concert(that was not happening unless I wanted to miss SZA) and after the lines were crazy and what I wanted was sold out. I really don't want to be negative but when you pay a lot of money for just an hour and 20 minutes of performance alongside the unnecessary stress caused by the disorganized venue, it hard not to be put in a bad mood.

    Unforgettable Experience!

    by A.S. on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

3 friends. 3 Years. 1 end goal - seeing SZA live. In the year of 2020, I grew very close with 2 people who have been there for me through ups and downs. They introduced me to an artist which sounded familiar, but I didn’t really give it a listen. December 25th, 2020, Christmas Day and “Good Days” release day, is when I made the decision to listen to “Ctrl” in full. In that point in time, I fell in love with SZA and her music. Ranging from “Z” to “Ctrl” to “Hit Different” to “Good Days”, she stayed on repeat continuously throughout quarantine. From the first listen, I never understood why EVERYBODY is not listening to her. With the release of “SOS”, I was so excited, and so were my friends. With the millions of times we, as a group, listened to “SOS”, front to back, we made it a mission to secure tickets to her concert. Securing floor tickets at Scotiabank Arena was very stressful. Prayed day and night to get tickets because without SZA, I do not think I would have came out of quarantine as the same person. As I had the opportunity to secure 3 tickets in Section D, it felt like our time listening to SZA for 3 years was all finally worth it. From the outfit changes, to the setlist, to the boat floating on what looked like water with the lights, to screaming my head off, every penny was worth spending to see her. If you are reading this, and have the opportunity to even get nosebleed seats, just do it. It was a 100/10 experience, especially after 5 years of not touring, she definitely made up for that. Thank you for reading this review, it took 3 years to complete it!

10/10 concert! But logistically needs more transparency!

by Bai on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Loved the entire concert, SZA was great but the venue itself we wished we had a bit more transparency in regards to the delays via the app or Twitter or even social media.

    Awesome

by Lovely on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Sza waa absolutely amazing! She daces beautifully she interacted with the fans and I just had a blast. The people there are beyond amazing as well. The only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 is because Scotiabank workers failed to organize the event at the beginning. There were multiple lines and no one understood what was going on!

One of the best concerts ever!

by Zey on 2023-02-28Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

this was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! The stage, the song list, the performance..everything was done so amazingly. It’ll be an experience I will never forget!<3 The only thing that was stressful was the merch lineup, it felt like it was easier & faster to get inside the venue than buying merch. The line was so long that I had to leave it as SZA was coming on stage but that has nothing to do with SZA ofc, it’s Scotiabank’s mess & unpreparedness.
