THE B-52S IN CONCERT:
Since forming in 1976, The B-52s have always stood out for their thrift-store chic style and ability to craft catchy, retro-inspired hits. Over the years they might have let their beehives down, but every-thing else about the band is still as tight as it was 30 years ago. Their call-and-response choruses always get fans singing along, and their fun and funky grooves will have you dancing right along with the band. The B-52s are taking their party atmosphere to select cities across the U.S. on their 2015 tour, bringing all their cool style and flamboyant fun to a town near you.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Named after a particular type of beehive hairdo, The B-52s rocketed out of Athens, Georgia in the late ’70s. Starting with their smash hit “Rock Lobster”, the band developed a reputation for campy fun and catchy melodies that carried over to other favorites like “Planet Claire” and “Private Idaho”. By the end of the decade, the band achieved a major mainstream radio breakthrough with the hits “Love Shack” and “Roam”. The band stayed relevant into the ’90s, appearing in The Flintstones live action movie (as “The BC-52’s”) and performing the theme song from the Nickelodeon cartoon Rocko’s Modern Life. Almost 40 years later, this zany garage band is still having a blast -- and still sounds like a blast from the past.

Soooo good deco rock and b52 left me wanting more. Don't miss this show!!!
The artists were all on their game. The music was terrific. I liked the volume setting for the music videos during intermissions. The volume setting during the performance was too loud, and I think it muddied the vocals for the B-52's. I often had a difficult time picking out the lyrics. The audience should not have to pack hearing protection to enjoy a show.
I went to the first show of the de evolution tour in Toronto. Lene Lovich was quirky and having a great time. I was looking forward to seeing so very pleased. Devo was on point! A very tight show. It was amazing, from the singing to the playing, to the videos. They stole the show! B-52s were a bit disappointing. Kate carried the show. She was lively and fun. Cindy, on the other hand struggled with her voice and I was actually concerned as she appeared unwell. Fred was Fred. Lol. Overall, I'm glad I was able to be there.
Ngl I literally was shocked how they sound exactly the same after all these years. Very awesome, nostalgic.
Fantastic!!!! I really pray they come back to Toronto again And I really hope they realize how much Canada appreciates them playing here Special props to Kate for that powerful voice and energy on stage
Wendy have never been to a better show. Anawedome step back to our youths for the evening
The grass seating area was closed so the crowd size was very small which made for a nice event - no lines for anything. The B52’s were fantastic - the light and video display that accompanied their act was really a nice touch.
Venue was great as always. Devo was fantastic, better than I expected! The B-52’s we disappointing!! Off key and slow. The only good thing about them was the guitar player!!

The concert was excellent! Our seats were fantastic ... very close to the stage! Have seen The B-52s a few time -- really love their music!
