The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century." The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals." And Entertainment Weekly says, "Grade A: the funniest musical of all time." Jon Stewart calls it "a crowning achievement. So good it makes me angry." It's The Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony Award® winning Best Musical.
This was the most fantastic thing I've ever seen. I had so much fun. Couldn't stop smiling the whole time.
I attended The Book of Mormon on Friday with my 15-year-old daughter after seeing online that the show was rated 14+. While I appreciated the music and the cast's performances, I found the show went too far in its content. Unfortunately, it came across as crass and even racist in parts, with explicit themes that I believe are inappropriate for anyone under 18. Had the website provided a more accurate rating and clearly warned about the explicit content, I would have chosen a different play. While there were a few good laughs, they did not outweigh the discomfort caused by the crude material. Clearer guidance on the content and age-appropriateness would have made a significant difference in our decision to attend.
This is the most entertaining show I have seen in a long time. It was so creative and funny. It presents religion, not just the Mormons, in a sarcastic, funny and modern way. The music is so good and entertaining that I find myself singing some of the tunes around the house. It’s offensive in a funny, clever and even kind way and the characters are wonderful. I loved the whole package and would highly recommend it as a night of great entertainment.
The show was very good acting and singing was great. It was just very hard to hear the lines. Sound was dissapointing. We had great seats centre balcony row G but very difficult to make out the lines and as such missed a lot of the one liners and humour.
A wonderful night out with girlfriends. We laughed til our stomachs hurt. Such a talented cast. I would go again if I could!
I went to see Book of Mormon last night has first balcony second row it was hilarious I couldn’t stop laughing the effects were amazing
The cast was very talented. However the show itself was not as funny as we expected and was sometimes very crude and racist. The music was catchy but none of the songs will become a favourite.
The show was hilarious, with great music and choreography. Has a great message at the end that prompts conversation. My only complaint (minor) was the sound quality—a few times, it was difficult to hear what the character was saying.
as an immigrant the song Sal Tlay Ka Siti hits hard. unexpected reaction from the show. Hasa Diga Eebowai
This did not disappoint, written by the creators of South Park it only takes about 30 seconds to see that shine through. The crude humour and dark jokes had us laughing the entire show. This is everything we expected in a musical and a great story to follow as well. It left us wanting more because of how funny it was. We will be seeing this one again in the future.
Really enjoyed the show. It was great fun. Had a great time listening to the songs, watching the performance. The only downside was the food and drink selection. I wish I had just had the beer instead of the cider.
Hilarious but raunchy! Can’t deny the talent of the performers, just got a little tired of all the F bombs in the script. Re: the venue.. there must be a way to improve the maps when booking a ticket. The maps do not accurately show actual isles. For anyone with mobility issues, this is important to note where you can stretch your legs or park your canes!
Not as good as all the reviews made it out to be. Sometimes the music was too loud for the singing. Overall very good tho.
The performers were awesome, but the humor was very Jr High, bathroom and body part, level. I expected higher level of wit!
First off, I’m not a ‘pearl clutcher’, not a child, not easily offended, and not especially religious and not Mormon . However, I didn’t find TBOM, that funny. It was ok but reminded me of a less than funny SnL skit. The songs and acting were good but I got a little bored with the plot. The message was good but I have seen funnier and also irreverent shows. Middle of the road for me.
Entertaining, pump up, and a great topic of conversation after!
The Book of Mormon reveals the nature of mankind when faced with adversity through the lens of humour. Absolutely delightful.
Ticketmaster makes things so easy for me and my family whether that's going to a concert or an Oilers hockey game. My only wish is that I was able to get my hands on a couple Taylor Swift tickets for the BC stops for my 10 yr old daughter.
Very well done production! Very impressed with the casting. Show is hilarious. I am very confident that the people next to us had no idea what the show was about and were offended.... which only added to the hilarity. I enjoyed it throughly and would see it again.
Book of Mormon is so entertaining. The music, choreography are so well done. I’ve seen this musical twice and will continue to go back. It’s absolutely hilarious.
