ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! One of the best shows I have seen in a very long time!
Jim Cuddy Band ...sure knows how to put on a show. Excellent performance and great new songs. Also enjoyed some of the orginial tunes it takes you back.
Great evening - played for 2 hours - could clearly tell that he and the band were having as much fun as the audience.
One of the better concerts we've been to. Great opening act with Doug Paisley, and the Jim Cuddy band was awesome! I would highly recommend seeing this concert. The venue (Jubilee Auditorium) was exceptional....great sound throughout.
My husband and I have always had a special place in our hearts for Blue Rodeo, and Jim Cuddy's band and new CD have the same vibe and sound - and are well worth the money to see live. Jim NEVER fails to put on a show that transports you from where you are to the places in his stories that are sung on stage. We've all been there, even if we haven't got a clue exactly where that may be. The song he wrote and sung for his Uncle on the passing of his wife of 61 years made me tear up. He says it so eloquently - the way we wish we could if we had that kind of talent.
He has one of the best voices I have had the pleasure of hearing. The band is very tight and they showed lots of energy on every song. When he comes to Edmonton, we have to go to hear that beautiful voice.
This was definitely in my top five concerts I have seen. Jim Cuddy gave superb performance. The lady violinist had excellent stage presence, always smiling and acknowledging the audience. Sound was right on, loud without being deafening.
Fun show with some very memorable moments especially the last encore song.
Another awesome performance by Jim Cuddy and band for Edmontonians! A foot-tapping evening of new material from Skyscraper Soul, some vintage Cuddy favourties and the best of Blue Rodeo, all in one seamless package. The evening moved from one mood to the next taking the audience along for the ride. The "freight train moment" for us was the fiddle solo in "Five Days in May" when Anne Lindsay pulled out all the stops and played her heart out! It was breathtaking. Jim was his usual down to earth self and interacted warmly with the crowd. "We love you Jim Cuddy1"
Amazing. 2 solid hours of entertainment. Could not have asked for more.
Great concert but a terrible venue for acoustics. My ears have been ringing for days. The concrete block walls just bounce the sound around.
There is so much to say about Jim and his band. Everyone was great!, every insturment tied in so well, it was great to see! I loved the way Jim described each song before he sang it. That just brought the crowd in more. It was so personal, like we were all his friends just sitting around a living room singing songs. It was awesome and unforgetable. Jim showed us his Vocals, he range is so high, and wide. He is just amazing....LOVED every MOMENT!
Full House, Fabulous concert with a great beginning act Paisley! Jim Cuddy Band played a super variety of favorites and new, with a wonderful band of talented musicians and singers and the beautiful vocals of Jim Cuddy. Wow what a night three hours of fantastic music.
The opening act (Brad Paisley) was very good. The Jim Cuddy Band was very entertaining. The violin player was amazing and of course, as usual, Jim Cuddy's vocals were beautiful. We were taken on a journey of a variety of styles of music - all of them different and all of them very enjoyable. Jim's solo on the piano brought tears to my eyes, not just for the words but for his wonderful voice. The final song of the encore was magical!
First of all, I want to say how excited I was that Jim Cuddy was going to be doing a concert in Kelowna and that it was taking place in smaller venue (and not the large arena!) However, it was such a disappointment in that the band drowned out his voice and made it very hard to hear the words. When Jim sang alone or with his 2 guests, it was beautiful and we were able to hear the words and melody. As soon as the band joined him, the volume was almost painful. People were putting kleenex in their ears and there were many comments as we were leaving from others about the distortion from the loudness of the band. The person who was doing the "mixing" really missed the mark on this one. I am sure that many felt the same way.
Jim's opening act was a little bland but the theatre sure came to life when Jim walked on the stage. Fabulous show... electric...
Jim Cuddy never disappoints and this show was no exception...a consummate performer and so charismatic.
Evening was an amazing experience. The Jim Cuddy Band played two hours straight and were very crisp and professional.
This was amazing. I loved the evening, the venue was great. It allowed for good rapport with the audience. Anne on the violin took my breath away. The trumpet was an enjoyable addition. I enjoyed hearing the newer songs - especially, Everyone Watched the Wedding (and I did) and Skyscraper Soul. Of course there were many old favourites to sing along to. Jim Cuddy please come back!
So enjoyed The Jim Cuddy Band concert. A great mix of old, familiars and new tunes. Jim took the stage and played almost two and a half hours with no breaks! Can't believe Jim's energy; great interaction and lots of highlights from other band members as well. Liked the venue - nice size, good seat and aisle widths. Lots of parking and it is free, too.
