Really an amazing night! We expected it to be a great concert but this was even better than we expected. Incredibly talented musicians, great new songs but just enough of the old to keep us happy!

we really enjoyed Doug Paisley as a warm up act. It will be fun to continue to follow his work. Jim cuddy and his excellent band never failed for a second in their set. We were tapping our feet the whole evening and thought the venue and price was excellent. Great concert

  • Skyscraper Soul Smokin' Hot

    by curler12 on 2012-01-22Pantages Playhouse Theatre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Jim Cuddy just gets better with age. As a storyteller, he's never sounded more authentic, his vocals have never been stronger; his aw-shucks charm never more engaging. Not only did Cuddy & company showcase many fine musical offerings from his latest release (including Everyone Watched The Wedding), but they kept Blue Rodeo fans happy by playing a handful of BR's hits during their 2-plus hour show. `Five Days ...' was one of the hottest tunes of the night, allowing each band member - including Anni, the smokin' fiddle player - their solo moment. An unforgettable show led by a downhome musical icon. He can't come back soon enough (even tho' I seen him/BR countless times over the years!).

  • Best Concert

The new work from Cuddy is amazing! The combination of the new and the few older songs he included in the set list made for a very memorable evening. Cuddy is better today than he was 25 years ago. His band members were fantastic. Thank you Anne Lindsay for spending your birthday with us!

Absolutely one of the best concerts I have seen in years. The band is terrific and Jim Cuddy is simply Greater than Great! He interacts with the audience and has so much sole. His voice is unbelievable.

On top of being a great singer Jim comes across as a regular guy that just happens to be incredibly talented. Very unpretentious along with his band of quality players.

  • Almost as good as U2

by drdaud1 on 2012-01-17The Banff Centre - Eric Harvie Theatre - BanffRating: 5 out of 5

The Jim Cuddy Band was tight, fun and entertaining. Jim's voice and relationship with the audience was outstanding. The venue and sound unsurpassed. The energy and harmonies were exemplary. It was, without doubt, the best concert I've attended for years (with the exception of U2, of course!)

I have seen Jim / Greg / Blue Rodeo about 20 times now and I plan on seeing them 20 times more. No suprises, just a good, no great, solid show. This guys just gets better with age. A friend summed it up best by saying "You just can't help but feel good after leaving his show". Well put.

  • Jim Cuddy was awesome!

I got tickets last minute so we were on the 2nd balcony but the sound is so good at the Jube that it didn't matter. Jim and his band were so energetic from start to finish. The band were great too, especially the violinist and the guy on trumpet.

Awesome concert. Especially like how they ended the evening with Wash Me Down!

  • Jim Cuddy - and I am NOT a fan

by fenner65 on 2012-01-17The Banff Centre - Eric Harvie Theatre - BanffRating: 4 out of 5

took my lady to this as she IS a fan. No doubt, she fell in love with him all over again. Me? I was worried, but ended up thoroughly enjoying the show. Musically, JC is way underrrated I thought. I would attend another show of his anytime.

Doug Paisley gave a great performance, we really enjoyed it. The sound for his show was great. Jim Cuddy and band also gave such an amazing show. All very talented people. The sound/mix wasn't always good. The band really drowned out Jim Cuddy singing,it was too loud. Jim Cuddy playing on his own was perfect. The last song together very nice. We loved the show.

  • So Sad

But really Blue Rodeo is gone....gone... Jim Cuddy is a great performer and has a great voice but something was wrong that night with somebody's guitar and other instrument way too overpowereing the violinist was okay but it just didn't cut it for us! The old Blue Rodeo Songs were great but again that whole combination did not work for us.
