  • Bands were amazing

by Rita on 2024-07-28The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It was a great show, but the theatre was disorganized. No signs to tell you where to find your section. There was no one there to help us find our seats, and there were bunches of people looking for them during the show. This was highly annoying. No cup holders in the seating area, and there were 2 big screens which they didn't use. We will avoid the new Woodbine theatre until they work out all the bugs.

  • Great concert, too long

Totally tubular concert was a great show but too long, we did t end up staying to see Thomas Dolby. We stayed for the Thomason twin performance.

  • Wish there was more....

This Tubular reunion was a great idea but it started off like a high school battle of the bands. Lighting issue throughout for Bow Wow Wow. Annabella never got her spotlight. She should have the stopped the show and waited until the lighting was sorted. The show got better with each band and I was pleased to finally see some bands I missed back in the 80s like Modern English and Wang Chung. Having an ear for music, the sound was mediocre and I was dead center where the sweet spot generally is. The crowd was very hesitant in the beginning because of what they were presented. I missed the first 2 bands but caught Jenny as I was looking for my seat. There were very few ushers and they just pointed. I don't blame anyone for this mediocre performance. It was everything good bad cheesy and amazing. Mr Dolby has seen me in his audience a few times. He is extremely talented and creative. Kinda wished he stuck to his catalogue of greats though. Where was Windpower? One cover would have been enough. Led tubes were cool to look at but we needed more pizazz. Maybe I am just to picky but come on, its a rock show. Good surprises for me were Modern English and Men Without Hats were giving the crown 101%.

  • Kinda boring

After 5 hours of music, Thomas Dolby may not have been the best choice to close the show. I noticed a lot of people leaving during his set. Last 2 songs were fun but the rest was kinda boring.

  • A lot of bands for the money

by Toybox on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was very impressed with the venue. The music was awesome, lots of bands and a great happy ending. Thanks Thomas Dolby

  • An incredible evening traveling back in time.

by Chris on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

A fun and nostalgic evening hearing the music from my youth played by the OG artists! Venue is ok, but some of the louder songs hurt the old ears. And, as it is, drinks were WAY TOO MUCH $$!

  • All were really good. Very smooth changeover between groups

Men Without Hats, Thompson Twin(s), and Wang Chung were awesome. Thomas Dolby is very talented. BowWowWow was really good too.

  • Great Show

by Dean Wakil on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

All in all a great evening. The sound, unfortunately, was horrible. Surprising, considering the hall is new and purpose built. Also, they had two large screens on either side of the stage that were not utilized. Would have added to the show. The sound began to improve somewhere between Wang Chung and Men Without Hats (who performed a high energy stage show). Followed by great performances by Tom Bailey and Thomas Dolby (sporting a brand new head of hair). The crowd seemed to enjoy the show from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend and would go and see them all again.

  • Awesome festival

Fun evening enjoying a whole bunch of 80’s groups at a great venue. A blast from the past!

  • Totally Tubular Thompson Twins

by Hezza L on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Went to concert with a multi gen work group. First off, we were blown away by the Thompson Twins set! The stage effects, the sound quality, the talent! We enjoyed Modern English, Men Without Hats too. Didnt stay for Thomas Dolby. Other acts were forgettable, except for Annabells Bowowow which was the worst music I'd ever heard. Venue is delightful! Will keep an eye on upcoming events.

  • Beyond my expectations

by Mishy on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Every act in the line up delivered a polished show. Their sets weren't too long played their main hits. Breaks between acts were good.

  • Almost perfect

by Michael L on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was fantastic. It was great to see some performers I missed in the 1980s. I was also impressed with the venue. It was quite spacious, with great sound and easy access. However, as someone who uses handicapped-accessible seating, I do have one serious complaint. For those who have never been to the venue, the accessible seats are on the floor right in front of the second section with the tiered seating. The view was fine until the people on the floor stood up to dance and cheer. I could no longer see the stage, and being handicapped, my ability to stand is limited. There are video screens, but neither were in use during the show. This was highly disappointing and is the only reason I didn't score this event a 5 out of 5.

  • Excellent concert!

  • Fun night, Security needs some customer service training.

To start off, the show was fantastic. We had the vip meet and greet. We showed up at 3:30pm. Let me tell you, it was a little frustrating. All we did was move to a spot.and wait. The move to another spot and wait. Bands were great though, Tom Bailey was the reason I went and he didn't disappoint. After the show though, I asked a roadie fpr a guitar pick that was dropped on the stage. As I got up from my front row seat to reach for the pick a security guard butted in front of me and told me to move out of the way. I tried to explain my seat was at the front of the stage but he just noticed to get away. Lol. Unbelievable actually. Never going to that venue again... GH

  • A true Artist

by Pat on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We saw him 40 years ago at Massey Hall. He has lost an ounce of creativity or class. So glad we went.

  • Totally fabulous

by Sue on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

What a great concept. Each band gets on plays the three of four top hits they had then move on to the next band. Thompson twins were flat. Didn’t stay for Thomas Dolby. Bow wow wow was fabulous and the sane for men without hats. Such great energy.

  • Headliner should’ve been the opening act

by Andrew on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Men Without Hats stole the show! They were so full of energy, and Ivan seemed to be having the time of his life bopping all over the stage. Modern English and Thompson Twins were also good. Thomas Dolby was disappointing. Great night though!

  • Wow!

by Tammy on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I was blown away by Thomas Dolby. I just wish he played a longer set. He is a genius on the synthesizer. An all around entertainer! Please play again in Toronto or the surrounding area. (OLG Niagara?)

  • too much, bug not really enough

by slebovits on 2024-07-27The Theatre at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

this was a weird mishmash of artists. tommy tutone, bow wow wow and wang chung were not really necessary. tommy tutone played old rock songs, bow wow wow, while energetic, was a bit condescending to the audience and wang chung was really a waste. not much tubular about any of them. thompson twins (not really, but for the sake of billing) was really good. great songs, great lighting, def the highlight of the night, and probably should have headlined, rather than thomas dolby. dolby was ok, but he also veered off course playing some gary numan (cool but not his work) and some cure snippets i believe. he's not much of a live act and his 2 songs were ok. it wasn't horrible, but i wasn't cheering, and it went on waaaaaaay to long, almost 5 hours i think. i took a snooze in my car while waiting for the car park to empty out. unless you are/were a die-hard fan, it was ok, but nothing really exciting. c'est la vie!
