TOM ODELL IN CONCERT:
Acclaimed British singer-songwriter Tom Odell isn't much concerned with musical trends. While many of his contemporaries have started dressing up their tunes with elements borrowed from dance music and hip hop, Odell has stuck to his indie pop guns, favoring simple, piano-based arrangements that let his heart-rending voice and confessional lyrics shine. In concert he performs seated at the piano, conjuring up evocative chords and melodies while his band adds gentle guitar, glacial glockenspiel, and haunting vocal oohs and ahhs to the mix. Odell wears his heart on his sleeve, and seeing him perform deeply personal songs like "Real Love" and "Magnetised" in the flesh only heightens their emotional impact. He wowed fans in 2016 with his sophomore album Wrong Crowd, and followed up with powerfully emotional sets on tour that treated ticket buyers to the full range of his awe-inspiring talents.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Chichester, England-born Tom Odell studied classical piano as a child and started writing songs at age 13. After high school he abandoned plans to attend university and instead focused on music, performing at open mic nights around the Liverpool area. He enrolled in the Brighton Institute of Modern Music shortly after and started the band Tom and the Tides, but ultimately decided to go solo. He got a break in the early '10s when British pop sensation Lilly Allen saw one of his London performances and signed him to her label, resulting in his 2012 debut EP Songs from Another Love. He followed up in 2013 with his first album Long Way Down, a No. 1 smash on the UK Albums Chart that produced a string of popular singles including the Top 10 hit "Another Love." A slew of accolades followed, including the BRITs Critics' Choice Award and a nomination for the prestigious BBC Sound of 2013 poll. Odell spent the next few years touring, and in 2016 he released his sophomore album Wrong Crowd, a No. 2 hit on the UK Albums Chart that he supported on the No Bad Days Tour.
Loved his performance! He’s a true artist that is lyrically talented and his piano talent is another level! Went with my hubby and Odell did not disappoint! Would go see him live again! The two-man band right before he went on stage was amazing too!
Tom Odell is such an amazing performer, his singing and his piano work is just insane. Such beautiful songs and you can clearly see his passion.

Best concert I’ve ever been to! It was so amazing. Tom sang all my favourite songs and they were better than the Spotify versions. Also the opening acts were also amazing. Overall it was the best!

Wow, this was a great concert. Loved how simplistic yet effective the lights and productive was. So much raw talent. I would 100% go see him again, Tom Odell is very overlooked. His talent is really unmatched.

This was my first time seeing Tom Odell live, and I’m already waiting for the next time he’ll come to Canada. The sound and visuals were great, and Tom and the band were way better then I voice imagined. From the first song until the last notes I felt like I was having a conversation with a soulmate, both piano and Tom’s voice speaking to me. Would definitely recommend to come experience it.
What an excellent night. Venue was gorgeous, sound was spot on and Tom was fantastic. He can really put on a show with just the piano and his voice however his band added depth to the sound making the performance even more immersive. The blacked out audience and the smoke on the stage made it really feel like it was just you and them. Would 10000% go again. Amazing.
That was a great show… I just can say, it was awesome… More than perfect.
Didn’t know that our tickets were for no seating area before purchase
We saw Tom Odell in Toronto and it was honestly the best concert I've been to. The opening acts were AMAZING and Tom was fantastic. Me and my friends didn't know all the songs but it was still the best time. His voice was fantastic, the best time.
I went to see him with a couple of my friends in Toronto October 2nd 2023, and we were not disappointed. I think he is one of the best concerts we have ever been to, his voice is incredible, and he interacted with the crowd amazingly. I would see him again.
With it being his first show of the tour, I had no idea what to expect going into the show. The openers (Jane’s Party and Seafret) were both much better than I expected but unfortunately Seafret got cut short due to lack of time. When Tom Odell came on, the stage was pitch black and he started with the song Monday which he then combined with 3 other songs. In my opinion, he completely butchered Monday (some wrong notes and the lyrics were all like half a beat out of sync with the piano). Honestly, I thought I was in for a disappointing show. Thankfully that was far from the case. Every song after the first one, you could see that Tom got more comfortable with his stage presence and voice improving drastically. His speeches between songs were both inspiring and funny. While it was clear that he was nervous, as he worked his way through his set, that faded away quickly. The lights and the sound at Massey hall were also perfect for this kind of show. Overall, this is one of the better shows I’ve seen and I’d give it a 9/10. Also, Tom brought up a fan on stage (John?) as it was his 100th Tom Odell show and they shared a hug on stage. Congrats John!
the opportunity to go to this concert came unexpectedly when one of my friends couldn’t go so obviously i had to take her up on the offer. i didn’t really know many of toms songs but man is he able to capture my emotions! i was crying practically the whole show because of the emotion behind his songs. he also just has the best voice i’ve ever heard in my entire life. the audience was amazing especially my friend who almost passed out because he sang numb. it was scary she lost her mind. anyway! 10/10 would go again
I really love all the show. I’m really surprising. The show feel like if you are in your sitting room alone with Tom Odell playing music and having discussion. I would came again anytime !
best experience of my whole life. best day of my life. i still can’t express how good it was. tom is such a good signer i can’t even say how much i like his music it’s just so amazing . also the crowd in Montreal made it so much better
