About

Train are a Grammy Award-winning rock band who have released 11 studio albums, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Train released their self-titled debut in 1998, but they broke through to the mainstream with their 2001 follow-up, Drops of Jupiter, which became their first of six Top 10 albums behind their seven-time platinum single of the same name. To date, Train have logged six Top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and four No. 1 songs on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, including 2003’s “Calling All Angels” and 2009’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” The group has embraced various genres through collaborations with leading country artists like Martina McBride, Ashley Monroe and Tenille Townes, rapper Travie McCoy and pop singers such as Sofía Reyes and Cam. Train have gone on tour nearly every year since 1996, playing in over 25 countries and sharing the bill with the likes of Hall & Oates, Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel. As of 2024, the band is made up of founding frontman Pat Monahan, Taylor Locke (guitar and vocals), Hector Maldonado (bass and vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar), and Matt Musty (drums).

    Train at Sony Centre

by DANSROK on 2012-07-13Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Thank goodness Pat Monihan is such a great entertainer - great singing voice and good banter as he tried to coax some Toronto ladies to sing and dance to a couple of songs, with mixed succes. Show was a bit short (ended by 10:30) but packed with quality songs. Lots of singalong opportunities and considering this was just the second show in their tour, pretty smooth presentation. Loved Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar) and the two little girls who received a signed guitar from the band.

Took my girlfriend to see this show for her birthday. She really enjoyed. My thoughts are as follows. Excellent sound mix and volume. Would have preferred much more older material fore sure...lot of great songs not played....too short @.1hr,26mins.

    Best concert ever!

by MontrealDuane on 2012-07-12Métropolis - Montreal

Train made the evening an unforgettable experience! They connected with the audience and delivered right from the heart! Absolutely amazing. I already had California 37, and I went home and bought every album they put out before that. Marilou was great too! Also bought her 60 Thoughts a Minute album!

The band was great, very energetic and fun. We had the Gold VIP pass and I have to be honest, I would not recommend purchasing them. We did not get our money's worth. The meet and greet actually made me mad. We get a poster, which is signed before they see you so it's not personalized at all. You go into a stairway to take a picture and then get kicked out basically. We saw them for maybe, if we're lucky 1 minute. The only words were "good show". I've been to other meet and greets and the band members actually talk to you and come sit with you and you get a good experience. I purchased this for my wife who is a huge fan and I have to say, I was not impressed. The people who paid the regular fare and stood by the stage had more interaction with the band then we did and I paid well over double for my tickets. No free drinks, nothing...If my wife didn't love the band so much, I would have said this was a waste of money, despite the fact that they're good performers. I rate this 3 because the concert itself was decent, but the VIP Gold pass is a total waste.

    Swoon!

by AmeliaBedelia on 2011-08-30Molson Amphitheatre - Toronto

This was simply a great night out with friends. I took a couple of big Maroon 5 fans with me and they actually thought they didn't know who Train was...until the show...and what a show it was. I love both Maroon 5 and Train so I knew the whole night would be amazing but it was really kind of fun to see my friends realize just how many great songs Train performed. I heard the drummer from Train on the Chum FM the morning of the show and he was talking about how great Maroon 5 was on stage (and they were) and that Train was working on kind of catching up to them show-wise...the concensus from my group was that Train was even better than Maroon 5 on stage. Anyway...it was just a great night and we didn't sit down at all...just dancing all night. If you can afford it, I definitely recommend you splurge on the floor seats close to the stage (especially if you are a big fan of Train because the girls up there will be given an opportunity to go up on stage with Pat to sing).

    Lots of fun

by Baronofsky on 2011-08-29Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

After seeing Maroon 5 in Toronto about 3 years ago, I was going to the show more to see Train (and I only know a couple of their songs) than M5. The last show of M5 I saw in Toronto was ... in a word, boring. Other than their light show, it was nothing special. BUT! Wow! Adam Laveigne has certainly improved 110% on his stage presence, and M5 put on a great show! The crowd was right into it, and the place was packed! Good job boys! Train built up the anticipation of them coming on with the sound of a steam engine chugging away full steam ahead ... and the show only went better from there. Great stage presence by Pat Monahan who got the crowd involved and kept us up dancing all night! Jim Stafford and Scott Underwood also gave great performances. Totally enjoyable evening - great feel good concert to go to.

This show was amazing and well worth all i paid for it. I was a little dissipointed that Gavin DeGraw wasnt there and Nikki Jean was there instead. I didnt really enjoy her performance but Train and Maroon 5 soon made up for that

by rorik on 2011-08-26Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

My daughter and I had an amazing time. Both Maroon 5 and Train were so good it would be impossible to pick my favorite. Each group performed for at least one hour and the energy on stage and in the crowd was very electric.

    They were amazing.

by sonmjo on 2011-08-25Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

I went to this show to see marron5. They were very good. They start their show with their new song. I really like that. I was sitting far but it does not matter I seen the show very well. I really loved when the big screen in the middle showed Marron5 on it. I did not know well the music of train and their first song was on the screen. That was fun and different. Train played very good and I loved is sense of humour especially when he asked a lot of his fans to join him. They used the screen different way and I liked that.
