About

Train are a Grammy Award-winning rock band who have released 11 studio albums, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Formed in San Francisco in 1993, Train released their self-titled debut in 1998, but they broke through to the mainstream with their 2001 follow-up, Drops of Jupiter, which became their first of six Top 10 albums behind their seven-time platinum single of the same name. To date, Train have logged six Top 20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and four No. 1 songs on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, including 2003’s “Calling All Angels” and 2009’s “Hey, Soul Sister.” The group has embraced various genres through collaborations with leading country artists like Martina McBride, Ashley Monroe and Tenille Townes, rapper Travie McCoy and pop singers such as Sofía Reyes and Cam. Train have gone on tour nearly every year since 1996, playing in over 25 countries and sharing the bill with the likes of Hall & Oates, Goo Goo Dolls and Jewel. As of 2024, the band is made up of founding frontman Pat Monahan, Taylor Locke (guitar and vocals), Hector Maldonado (bass and vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards and guitar), and Matt Musty (drums).

    Maroon 5 and Train rocked!!!

by Sandyandkiki on 2011-08-25Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

The show was amazing!! Maroon 5 kicked it off with Moves like Jagger and went on to sing and perform most of their best songs!! Train came on after performed their hits- did not know Pat was so funny he kept us entertained between their hits!! Overall the show rocked- was disapointed that Gavin DeGraw was not there due to his attack in New York just too bad he rejoined the tour 2 days after the show I was attending because I was really looking forward to seeing him perform as well!!!

    Train and Maroon 5 Concert

    by Nicole2011 on 2011-08-25Molson A. Theatre - Toronto

Loved the concert but I didn't realize that Maroon 5 was opening up for Train. I thought it was the other way around. Noticed alot of people left after Train sang a couple of songs. Also, I don't know why Train sang a couple of other artists songs - Umbrella, song from Blondie and U2. Don't they have enough hits to sing for 1.5 hours? Overall the night was amazing, especially Maroon 5 - Adam rocks.

Train and Maroon 5: You Have to GO!!

by sueandcynthia on 2011-08-25Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Maroon Five was fun, they played all their very big hits. The crowd was energized with the music. Train was fabulous. They interacted with the audience by inviting people to come onto the stage during a song. They walked around the crowd singing a quieter song which provided entertainment and added a personal quality to the concert. Very fun evening, and we would love to see them again.

    over-all amazing show

by chriistiineee on 2011-08-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Although we were disappointed that Gavin DeGraw was unable to perform under certain circumstances, the show was unforgettable. We missed Nicki Jean's performance. Maroon 5 rocked the house, Adam Levine had amazing stage presence and the band performed all the crowd favorites with a medley of their songs off their recent album 'Hands All Over' and past albums. Train was also amazing, once again they played all the hits which was amazing because they have been around for awhile. Over-all unforgettable, amazing, and lively show

Maroon 5 & Train were AMAZING!!!

by Shanonm on 2011-08-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

The concert was incredible. Maroon 5 sounded great. Pat from Train was absolutely incredible. I was really disappointed that Gavin DeGraw wasn't there. He was supposed to open the show and didn't. Not impressed! Other than that, we had an incredible night. I've seen Maroon 5 & Train before and they were even better this time around. Simply AWESOME!

Maroon 5 was awsome, too bad Train came out after

by JoannaR on 2011-08-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Maroon 5 was amazing, I loved that they played a mix of the old and the new. I did not enjoy having Train come out and play after Maroon 5 was done. It really took away from Maroon 5. They should have opened for them with a song or 2 and let Maroon 5 rule the stage for the rest of the night.

    Maroon 5 & Train-amazing double header!

by Fitnessbuff on 2011-08-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

From the first song, everyone at Ontario Place was on their feet! What energy in the crowd! Maroon 5 opened with Moves Like Jagger and went on to impress the crowd their whole set! Train followed with an amazing performance. It was my 14-year-old son's first concert and what a memory. Thanks for a great show!

    Great Show

by Guzzman on 2011-08-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Maroon 5 was amazing. They have great energy and are a very solid band live. They sound better live than recorded, which separates the great bands from the good ones. My friends and I were pumped after Maroon's set, but were questioning why they opened for Train. We thought it should have been the other way around because during Train's set; although they were fun to watch, we weren't really into it except for their hits Soul Sister and Drops of Jupiter. Other than that we would have rather seen Maroon 5 come on last and blow us away like they did for the first half of the show.

Marron 5 was amazing, Train was way too drunk and it definetly ruined it.They also did too many covers.

    Train stole the show!

by BRoy on 2011-08-24Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

I saw Maroon 5 last summer at the molson amp and I thoroughly enjoyed it; Adam Levine is incredible live. This year, maroon 5 played first and train finished the show. Train got really involved with the crowd, or people up on stage and went into the crowd. Maroon 5 was a little lazier, but still amazing! Great show overall!
