There is plenty to like about the CEBL. The live in-game experience is tremendous. From the music to the MC, to the quality of basketball - I live in Ottawa so I can only speak on my hometown product - it's extremely well organized and well produced. I'm a sports fanatic, I have a local online radio sports program and I often sing the praises of the CEBL.
If I could change one aspect, I'd turn off the music during crunch time in games. Perhaps when ELAM endings begin, the music can end. My background is in basketball. Former player, former coach, I even refereed at one point, so I enjoy the in-game communication between players and coaches. The music is great and it's a neat, unique aspect of the CEBL, but perhaps some consideration in to more of an emphasis on the gameplay and less of a focus on the entertainment during crunch time of games could be discussed? For example: during the ELAM ending of the Ottawa Hamilton semi finals game, it was a 2 point deficit for Ottawa and then, out of nowhere came a song that really didn't fit the moment and it took away some of the drama.
I'm absolutely being picky. If the CEBL came back next year with the exact same in-game format, it wouldn't deter me from attending, not in the least!
Great season!
