Metallica was formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and singer/guitarist James Hetfield in Los Angeles in 1981; since then, their astonishing career milestones include winning eight Grammys and selling over 125 million albums worldwide, including the critically-acclaimed Master of Puppets (1986), often cited as one of the most important metal albums in history. They are also one of the most popular and commercially successful touring acts in history — according to Pollstar, as of 2019 Metallica had sold over 22 million tickets and grossed $1.4 billion in touring since 1982. Metallica’s fifth studio album, Metallica (1991), famously known as The Black Album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and features some of the band’s biggest hits: “Nothing Else Matters,” “The Unforgiven” and “Enter Sandman.” On six consecutive genre-defining studio albums (from 1991’s Metallica through 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct), Metallica has consistently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In support of their 2023 album 72 Seasons, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will see the band playing two nights in every city they visit throughout 2023-24.

35 YEARS I WAIT TO SEE THIS BAND AND IS THE BBIGGEST BAND IN THE WOLD!
Let's get this out of the way: The Olympic Stadium is a TERRIBLE concert venue. The sound has always been horrendous there, so we need to stop booking it. That said, I knew it going in, so I shouldn't complain. Anyway, Metallica was great. They played like they meant every word, every riff and every drum beat. The only thing I'd suggest they do is play another song instead of the Kirk & Rob duet. Metallica is one of the biggest bands on the planet and this weekend proved why. Mammoth and Pantera were excellent as well, but their performances suffered because of the sound quality, or lack thereof. Hopefully Pantera comes back for a proper headline show. I did not care for the support acts on night 2.
Without a doubt, Metallica is the greatest metal band of all time. Both concerts were phenomenonal and truly life changing. I wish they continue to release music and performance for ever. James, Kirk, Lars, Rob - you are truly the best
First concert ever at 43, Loved Metallica since I was 11 , so much energy and excitement they looked like they were having an amazing time playing and after over forty years still put on a great show !!! Played good songs the night I was there ( only able to go on Friday 😔) lights and effects were great the only thing holding it back form a 5 star review was not even the band , it was the venue , the sound was not the greatest no matter who played . Rock on Metallica you have a fan for life in me 🤘
Visual spectacle was awesome, however: 1. Montreal Olympic Park Stadium has terrible acoustics. Music was barely understandable. 2. A Metallica concert without Master of Puppets is not a Metallica concert, they played more than 5 unknown/new songs, which is ok unless they miss the very best.
The show was great. All bands were great, both nights were awesome......except the sound. The "O"is the worst damn place for music. The echo was aweful and made the sound on the floor muddy. That's the only reason I give it 4 stars.
Très bon SHOW pour les 2 soirs , Mais toujours les mêmes problématiques pour avoir accès dû à mon handicap (Iliostomiser) Merci beaucoup (Ben Laden) Sécurité trop inclusive Toilette pour handicapés nulle
Soo disappointed by bad vocal sound. Could barely hear opening acts & metallica at times.
Getting out of the Olympic stadium Friday night was a nightmare. Concert ended at 11:00 sharp. We live 1 1/2 hrs away. We didn't get home till 3:00am! 2 1/2 hrs spent getting out of the stadium! You couldn't hear a word WVH of Mammoth was singing. Couldn't take many pics of FFDP on Sunday as the stage was mostly dark! We were excited to see Metallica as last time was in 2019 in SanFrancisco for S&M2. Disappointed overall. Spent huge amount of money on the tickets, food, drinks and memorabilia. 9th time seeing Metallica and first time no encore!!
Outstanding Sunday evening in Montreal's east end .Very well organized entering and leaving the Stadium .concession stands were well stockex and moved fairly quickly , seats inside the stadium are very hard and uncomfortable , bathrooms really need to be updated to 2023 , my seats were great , even though they weren't ecpensive .....the interior of the stadium could use an upgrade to attract even more big shows....fuck the roof ...just take it off !!! Metallica was incredible ....they left me wanting more.....so happy I went to the show ....beer prices were outrageous !!!
Incredible. I knew it would be and it did not disappoint. Night was awesome and night two was even better! Olympic Stadium is such a fun place to see a show. Metallica are pure talent and so professional. An epic event.
The show was great. The Olympic Stadium has a long run reputation of having the worst sound ever !! Metallica and the engineer of the Olympic Stadium did an astonishing job of bring the sound quality to a good level. The band is aging..only on paper. They are still energy. James' voice is still amazing; Lars is a monster of energy; so is Robert and the quality of Kirk's solos are still awesome!! Wonderful evening. Thanks guys!
As usual the showmanship was spectacular. The memories will remain. Thank you. The grand fathers of metal. Love everything about them. The music is exceptional, lyrics and all. Pls come back again.
Had the best time ever! So happy we got to see them! The venue was great as well. Everything went smoothly- entering and leaving.
J’ai vraiment aimé mon premier show avec Metallica, la meilleure place que tciketmaster m’a vendu! Très très belle expérience avec Metallica et tciketmaster!
To start with, the weekend event was awesome, no repeat setlist - great lively crowd! The venue staff were helpful and demonstrated a genuine willingness to help. Olympic Stadium is a horrible venue for a live concert, with acoustics aren't the best - no protective rails in betwewn rows for the higher levels. What I do appreciate is the fact that the venue has a HUGE smoking area which can be used after gaining entry. Olmpic Stadium definitely needs a HUGE renovation
Super belle soirée, juste que le son du stade c'est ben moyen 3/10 , pour le spectacle et l'organisation 8/10 !
Awesome weekend. Both shows were great! Sound could have been better at the big O , but great fans, set lists, and energy made up for it.
I have wanted to see Metallica for years and I was so disappointed by this venue. The echo in the stadium was such that we struggled to even recognize what song was being played. Thankfully, we had brought ear plugs but even these could not compensate for the shrill acoustics. Apparently there were some areas of the stadium that were better but our section (224 row B) was extremely poor. Food venders were plentiful and crowds were managed well. Bathrooms were in extremely short demand, resulting in huge line ups that moved at a snail’s pace. We left early because I was so angry that I could not hear this iconic band. I will never attend another show at the Montreal Olympic Stadium again. Truly disappointed.
Wicked concert!! A great blend of old and new music. The bands energy translated to high crowd energy. Sound was not great on day one but seemed to be rectified on day two.
