About

Amon Amarth have been marching purposefully from triumph to greater triumph for the last two decades. Formed amid the fertile Swedish metal scene in the mid 90's, these dedicated diehards brought a new sense of drama and destruction to the world of heavy music, propagating tales of Viking mythology and mortal combat over a devastating soundtrack of crushing rhythms, refined melody and rousing, rebellious refrains. From the release of their debut album Once Sent From The Golden Hall in 1998, to their latest masterpiece Jomsviking, Amon Amarth’s trajectory has been firmly upward, as this band’s devotion to touring the world and spreading their inspirational creed resonates with the ever-growing hordes of like-minded metalheads.

Swedish war machine Sabaton are on their way to worldwide heavy metal domination. These platinum selling, Falun-based heavy metal heroes are heading to Australia. No mercy will be given and all guns will be blazing, as this tireless killing machine prepares to blow fans to another dimension, playing songs off their entire catalogue as well as their latest opus The Last Stand.

    Amon Amarth in Edmonton

by Keenan B on 2019-10-03Edmonton Convention Centre (formerly Shaw Conference Centre) - Edmonton

I travelled all the way from BC to see this show as i had a place to stay with a friend in Edmonton. I must say that this was by far the vest show i have ever seen. When i get another chance to see Amon Amarth live again, I will, immediately. I cannot say enough how great it was. Seeing Grand Magus, At The Gates, and Arch Enemy along side Amon Amarth was amazing as well. Each band put on an amazing performance and i would love to see them all again whenever possible.

    Must see for any fan

by GregariousGregor on 2016-05-21Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

This was the third time I saw Amon Amarth and it was the best. These guys are always great live but the added showmanship and on stage action was greater and more in depth than before. We even took a friend who wasn't much of a metal fan let alone an Amon Amarth aficionado and he had a blast. If you are a fan of Amon Amarth you would be a fool to miss this tour.

    best show ever

by Bili on 2016-05-04Metropolis - Montreal

Amon Amarth is an amazing heavy metal band and their performance on stage is unbelievable. I have never seen such a beautiful stage that was going along with their songs; Vikings on stage in customs, fighting with swords and shields; very theatrical. I was and still am impressed with everything and am looking forward seeing them soon again.

    Amon Amarth

by Merauder on 2016-05-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Amon Amarth with guests: Exmortus & Entombed AD. This was one heck of a show, non stop blistering performances by all three bands! The headliners Amon Amarth were in top form, and delivered all the classics plus some of the new tracks off the latest album! The sound was fantastic, the venue was great! The merchandise was also good!

Great show. Exmortus was a revelation, incredible energy and great set. Entombed A.D. were a pain to watch and listen. Amon Amarth delivered the goods! The singer has such great connection with the crowd!

    Pretty good

by Mommadog on 2014-10-14Métropolis - Montreal

I'm gonna start off with the worst part: The parking garage this venue uses is god-awful. We spent a good half hour going up and down the street trying to find the entrance and once we were in we had an awkward time finding our way out and after the concert it took us an hour to find our vehicle and to find a way out because the doors we originally came in through were locked. But I digress. We showed up a bit late, so we missed most of Skeletonwitch but we were a bit underwhelmed by the couple songs we heard. Then Sabaton came on. I honestly don't mind paying the full $44 just because Sabaton was so good. They had the crowd pumped up beyond words and were clearly putting in their best effort to put on a fantastic show. It was my buddy's first metal concert (he's usually the type you'd see more at a Coldplay concert than anything) but about halfway through Ghost Division he was already in the habit of throwing up the horns and headbanging. Unfortunately, I feel they did too well as, when Amon Amarth came on, I found myself a bit disappointed. I'd been waiting to see these guys live for three years but I found they lacked energy or charisma on stage compared to the much more energetic opening act. Another issue I found was that whoever they had on the soundboard wasn't doing a good job. The guitars and Hegg's vocals were almost drowned out in noise. It's like we were hearing metal through some crappy soundsystem designed for some lame mainstream EDM producer from California. But still, it was great to see them live. The pit was a sight to behold. Their setlist consisted of essentially all my favourite songs, unfortunately because I was the only real Amarth fan in our group my friends made me leave after Guardians of Asgard because we had to drive back home through Montreal's nightmarish midnight traffic jams. All in all, a good show, but in a strange twist of events I found myself enjoying the opener much more than the headliners.

Amon Amarth Will Never Be Stopped

by shoez on 2011-08-15Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

The show was typical Amon Amarth... amazing. They always bring a great energy to their live shows and their sound is always precise and full force. A double set that works out to be almost 3 hours of Amon Amarth was the only way this band should ever tour. The Commodore Ballroom is the best venue in Vancouver, and it sounded amazing to have a heavy band fill the room with their sonic assault. Amon Amarth is a band that I will see everytime I'm in a town they're playing.

    Amon Amarth slayed the Phoenix

by PocketWatch on 2011-08-15The Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

Amon Amarth was an amazing show!! The band waited until everyone was inside the building before they began their first set, much appreciated by the long line up waiting patiently to hear them. They played through their newest CD: Surtur Rising in it's intierty, had a short beer brake, and rocked the stage for hours with their older tracks. It was unforgettable, I cannot wait to see them live again!

    Fantastic

by Dyls on 2011-08-14Phoenix Concert Theatre - Toronto

I am speechless. They put on one of the best shows i have ever seen. They played every single song i was hoping to hear, things like Asator, and their entire Surtur Rising album. When they played Guardians of Asgaard and broke out into that solo, i may have shed a tear or two.. The pit was great, awesome atmosphere, all around a fantastic show.
