    Disappointing.

by TriciaA on 2018-07-22Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The singers did not enunciate. Could not understand a word they said. Also the QE theatre has gotten very sloppy about letting many people in and out of the theatre all during the show.

    Les mis - powerful!

by lovethosemusicals on 2018-07-21Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I had never seen the the movie. Never seen the musical. Only had a sketchy idea of the story. The production here in Calgary was amazing, moving, and ultimately uplifting. Well done all.

    Beautiful

by Atee on 2018-07-21Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

My first time seeing Les Miserables ... it was beautiful; a heart-wrenching but soulful story that deserves it's top billing. Broadway Across Canada (America) typically brings together a very talented cast with wonderful costumes, stage settings, lighting and sound, and this production was no exception. The sound mixing was commendable with the right balance of being able to hear the vocals along with the talented orchestra. If you've never seen Les Miserables before, be sure to read the storyline synopsis in the program guide before the show begins.

    Les Mis

by RachelleBrown on 2018-07-21Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I truelly enjoyed the play but the only thing I can honestly say was the lighting was terrible. It was very dark and for that I can’t give it a 5 Star

This is my third time seeing Les Mis and probably my most favorite. The production was impressive to say the least. The set was magnificent and the performers were incredible, especially young Cosette! It really took me to another world. I simply loved the ending as well. Highly recommended!

    Les Miserables

by Glorietta on 2018-07-21Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

This Production of Les Miserables was Vocally very strong! Difficult Repertoire to sing. The singers gave it their all. Cosette took singing lessons from me for three years at my Music School,,The Bearspaw School of Music & Art. (Caitlin Finnie). Her young Lyric Soprano voice has impeccable range. She also possess a good mixed Voice. I can't wait to hear her in 6 years when her voice has fully matured. Revolutionary staging with the Barricade, much different that in the other productions I have seen. Being a Touring Company the other staging would have been very difficult to move around every week. The sound at the Jubilee is much better since the renovations. Years ago, when I sang at the Jubilee , it muffled the singers & was not a good venue for us. Now thanks to our Tax Dollars the Renovations have made a great improvement to this Venue.

This show is great! The only issue is that the intermission is so short that there is a rush to get to the washroom and back!

Like seeing it for the first time.

by KJ24601 on 2018-07-20Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I've seen Les Mis 4 times and didn't really need a 5th but my daughter wanted to go. I therefore did not expect the moving, astonishing and thrilling experience that was Broadway Across Canada's production of this well-known musical. Highlights included Valjean all round; Emily Bautista's show-stealing performance as Eponine; special effects in the sewer and on the bridge over the river Seine; and the Thenardier (especially Mme) and Javert, who usually bores me but in this performance really won me over. Our seats in the Queen E cost a fortune--at least for someone on my budget--but they were fabulous and our view of all the action on stage was unobstructed. (The theatre does not have enough washrooms when shows are at capacity so govern yourself accordingly, audience!)

    Les Mis was awesome!

by MiniMouse on 2018-07-20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The production was fantastic, especially for an opening night. One minor tech glitch was handled very professionally. The only drawback is that some of the singers' were singing with such affected styles as to be unintelligible. The accents and overwraught emotions made it impossible to understand what they were singing. Javert in particular. When singing a story-line, it's imperative to enunciate. Also, it would have been nice to remind the audience to turn off phones and not to unwrap noisy snacks during the show. Unwrapping them in advance is the way to go!

Les Miserables is a sad but beautiful story

by GrammieB on 2018-07-20Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I love the music, but it is so difficult to understand the words when they are "sing speaking". Read a synopsis of the story before you come to better follow what's going on. Great performances by all! Note- even though it was 30 degrees outside, it was cold in the theatre, especially on the feet. Come prepared.

This was a fantastic play. Nick Cartell, who plays Jean Valjean was phenomenal! The whole cast was great and the singing was the best I have heard. I would see it again!

I love Les Miz! This was my third show but the first with the new staging, think I prefer the old version with the revolving stage.

    Amazing Les Mis

by MuttiD on 2018-07-20Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This is the fourth time I have seen Les Miserables (live Broadeay performance) and each one is a little different from the others - focus on different areas. All versions are nothing short of amazing - this 2018 showing in Edmonton included. The only negative note about this show was the sound seemed to be off a little bit making it hard to understand some of the funny and poignant lines. This is no fault to the actors who were absolutely spectacular. Still would (and have) recommend the show to all my friends. People know I love the show as I named my daughter Cosette.

    Les Miserable was impressive

by RobCar on 2018-07-19Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We enjoyed the show, the props were excellent, the cast was fantastic. Our only complaint was most of the male singers were difficult to understand, we had no idea what the lyrics were when they performed!

    Wonderful

by LaurelM on 2018-07-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I saw the show approximately 20 years ago and it was not one of my favourites. The book was indeed. I felt this production was not as dark and focused more on the love story. It was very stirring and thought provoking. Thoroughly engrossing.
