BASTILLE IN CONCERT:

Fans lucky enough to catch Bastille on their 2013/14 world tour can count their lucky stars —as one of the fastest rising groups in British music, the band's days of performing in smaller venues are certainly numbered. Boasting good looks and a winning blend of indie rock, hip hop, and synthpop, the four chaps from London have a knack for connecting with audiences at their carousing live concerts, entering the crowd to mingle with adoring fans and pose for the occasional mid-set photo op. With a string of highly anticipated US tour dates and a Coachella appearance in 2014, Bastille are well on their way to storming the American mainstream.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bastille formed around the solo project of singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who shares his birthday with France's historic Bastille Day. The band's 2010 debut single "Flaws" was an underground hit, leading to a 2012 deal with Virgin records that resulted in the band's 2013 debut LP Bad Blood. The album peaked at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and spawned six singles, including the international No. 1 "Pompeii." A reissue and remix version of the album in late 2013 drummed up anticipation for the band's 2014 world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The energy was incredible and the crowd and venue great. Dan came out into the crowd during his signature Flaws performance which was truly an experience."

"Bastille is amazing live! Dan is a true talent and mastermind! Kyle killed it on keyboard, Woody was awesome on drums, and Will rocked on the bass."

"The whole band rocked the house and performed all of their best songs off of their album Bad Blood in front of a sold out crowd who was jamming and singing along."

I've been a fan of Bastille's for just about a decade and this is the first time I've been able to see them live. They did not disappoint! They were so much fun to watch and sing along to. Loved all of the songs they played from the new album and that they played some old favourites too. Would definitely see them again!

  • Best band live ever

by Rebeka on 2022-06-07History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Everything start to finish of this show was amazing. We had tickets to the soundcheck experience, and the guys are so interactive and amazing. They did a Q+A, and answered tons of fans questions. The show itself was beautiful, the band sounds amazing, the lead singer Dan is unbelievably talented, and they just have so much fun on stage with each other. My favourite band, and they sound amazing live. Great set list as well

  • Great live show !

This was my second time seeing Bastille in concert, and they produced another great show ! I will admit when they first began I thought they were not completely "live", but after a few minutes we could tell they just sound incredible. Very talented band. History is such a great venue...we saw July Talk there in December and it is now one of my favourite places to see a band. Never a line-up for the bar, nor the washrooms. Highly recommend both the band and the venue !

The Bastille concert in Toronto on June 3rd was incredible. The artists were definitely there to entertain. Every song that I was hoping to hear was played, and then some. The opening act, Common Deer were also very good. Excellent performers.

I have seen Bastille a number of times now in Toronto, and let me tell you they never disappoint! The energy each member brings to the show is incredible, and this drives the crowd energy up! I have been blown away each time just by the production alone. I highly recommend seeing them is you ever have a chance !

  • Amazing!!

Bastille was incredible - lots of energy, great lights and visuals, plus Dan has an amazing voice that sounds just like it does on their records. They also brought Bim with them on tour, which added an extra level of awesomeness. History is a great venue - nice and small and intimate - and I already can't wait to see Bastille in concert again!
