Great night with classic rock’s most fun band!

by Peter S. on 2023-05-30OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino - Niagara Falls

They look great, they sound great and the last 45 minutes was a brilliant run through of their career peak. A totally tight 1.5 hour concert. The new OLG facility is great, fantastic sound and video set up. I “Surrender” to their greatness!

I waited a long time to see Cheap Trick. They did not disappoint. Pure joy to see that they can still play so well. Love their energy. Can't wait for them to come back to Alberta...soon I hope!!

    Not Good

by Meri on 2019-08-14River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Cheap Trick on stage 9 sharp, at 10 lead singer announced they are being told to wrap it up? Played a couple of more songs, concert was over by 10:15. Was such a disappointment for such an iconic band, could have easily played 90 minutes or more.

    Horrible

by Chip on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

The music was so distorted and the bass was so loud you couldn’t understand each song

    Short concert

by Handy on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Wasn't the concert too short? It started exactly 9:00 pm and ended a little before 10:15 pm. No encore! That was a little disappointment. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Cheap Trick, and I really enjoyed the concert. Robin's voice, Rick's guitar, Tom's base guitar and Daxx's drums, I can't complain at all. But I wanted to stay a bit longer listening some more songs.

    Too loud.

by Mtemouse on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Really glad we went to see them and we could have really enjoyed the concert but it was SO loud. It would have been nice if they would have played more of their hits earlier in the evening. Even though it was so loud we enjoyed seeing all the band members do their thing, great guitar moments and they were also very personable with the audience. Do not regret attending as they are an iconic band that continues to do what they love.

    Disappointing

by Long time fan on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Sound was poor. I read that there was no opener on purpose as the band wanted to give the fans what they really wanted, more Cheap Trick so there would be two sets with an intermission. After an hour Zander said the venue was telling them to end it, but they were going to do a few more songs. They ended abruptly with no encore. The show two years ago was amazing. Maybe it's time to retire....

    Way too loud

by James on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Even with earplugs it was too loud. Also the mixing needs improvement. Vocals were often drowned out. Band presentation was sloppy, too much aimless wandering around the stage and a level of disinterest for example, Neilson introduced one song as "here's a song from one of our records". Too bad, Cheap Trick has a good reportoire of music but maybe its time to retire.

    The Dream Police!!!!

by Cheryl on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Great show!!! a bit short being only 1 hour and 15 minutes. Most shows run 90-100 minutes at the River Cree. Robin still sounds great and his son sings great on the high harmonies. They sounded awesome on " Voices "

    So Disappointing

    by R. R. on 2019-08-13River Cree Resort & Casino - Enoch

Sound was horrible and I don't think it was the venue. Music was just a mesh of rumble that was too loud to hear vocals clearly. Maybe that was intentional, who knows. I always wanted to see Cheap Trick, but wish I hadn't.

I was actually disappointed this time

by Tgodfred@mts.net on 2019-06-24Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

This event was actually disappointing. Not only was the lady in front of me very rude with raising her phone to block my view with videoing, I found the sound very muffled and distorted. Very hard to understand the songs. The bright lights shining in our eyes periodically was also annoying.

    Disappointing

by P. on 2019-06-24Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

Was expecting to hear more songs from the 70s and 80s and 90s. Didnt recognize three quarters of the songs they sang. The audience only got on their feet at the end when they played their 4 hit songs.

    Awesomely Awesome!!

by b. on 2019-06-22Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

loved the Cheap Trick' concert but, the crowd was extremely stiff. I wish i was in the standing only section or they should allow people to stand and rock out, for I viewed the crowd as a movie theater crowd. They should have a bigger section to stand and seat. Thanks.Keep Rock'n!!

    Just OK

by cwk on 2019-06-22Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

This review will obvious be biased as I was never a big fan of Cheap Trick and really only appreciated a couple of their bigger hits, but still expected to see a well tuned performance by a band that has been performing for a very long time. Overall I was not impressed with their performance. They played very loud and literally screamed into their microphones. You could barely hear or understand anything that they were singing. I guess you had to be a big fan and listened to most of their music to appreciate their sound. I will give them this, their attire was colourful and it was interesting to see all the various guitars that Rick Nielsen played throughout the show. My question though is why do artists just wander off the stage and disappear in the middle of playing for what seemed like very long periods of time. Aside from changing guitars, Rick did this constantly throughout the concert. On the other hand the warmup group, Wreckin’ SO was pretty good.

    Great Venue, Great Bands!

by B. H. on 2019-06-22Club Regent Event Centre - Winnipeg

Let’s start from the start... First off, it was the first time at the casino for me, Great Venue! Great sound. Wreckin’So (the warm up), as always, were great! A band from Winnipeg, playing all originals that sound like they have been on the radio for years. Great singing, great timing, great songs. We wish these guys nothing but success in the future. The lead guitarist (Ron) was invited to finish up Cheap Trick’s set! I saw Cheap Trick’s last show at the Burt as well, and this one was far better. Granted, they told us that Rick was not feeling well at the last, but the boys were getting along great together at this one, and at least appearing to be enjoying themselves. AND, upstairs at the Burt is not a great place to hear a band... They played a great set for me (an older fan), lots of music from Cheap Trick, In Color, Heaven Tonight, and Dream Police. I mean, they played Top of the World for goodness sake! A fantastic set list. Last time, the set list was very different, but equally great. I do have to say, as tight as this band is, it would not be the same without Robin Zander’s vocals. And he sounds every bit as good as he did in the seventies. No one cares if he sustains the same high notes as he once did, his distinctive sound really makes the band. Thanks Robin! Tom did a great version of I Know What I Want, with a great bass solo. Dax was solid again, and Rick, what can we say? He is the guy you want talking to us, and leading us through the concert. Thank you to all the guys! I know you guys may be getting tired of all this, but we want you to know that we really appreciate it every time you come around. As a kid who cut his rock’n’roll teeth on Heaven Tonight and In Color, I will be seeing this band every time they come around! Thanks again.
