Love love love! Saw them back in 1980, again a few years ago, and this year.....still got it goin on! No problems keeping on keeping on!!! The Flame is my highlight, Robin still hittin it!
I really enjoyed Cheap Trick back in the day. Went to the concert at Deerfoot Inn & Casino expecting an older version of the band I remember. The sound was of poor quality, which i believe says more about the venue than the band & their crew. Deerfoot needs to address this. The band made some uncomplimentary comments about other groups and musicians. Not cool guys. C'mon. you've got more class than that. The band played most of their hits but for reasons unknown, no one was hearing 'Voices' that night.
Really good concert, so many songs to pick from but they played most of my favourites! River Cree's new concert facility sounded and looked great.
My best friend and I have been Cheap Trick fans for over 35 years. We had many adventures as teenagers attending their concerts! We enjoyed the show at the River Cree Resort and continue to love their music - both the old and the new.
The concert was good. A little loud for me thank God I had ear plugs. They played 4 of their most famous songs. I wish they would have played more.
Great show. Robin's voice is as strong as ever. They have slowed down a bit which is not surprising considering these guys are in there 60's. These guys deliver, The hits are there as well as the new one's from the latest cd. Took the sound guy about 2 songs to tweek the sound where it sounded the best.
Have to say...Cheap Trick blew me away...they are so talented..would see them over and over. It was my first time. My boyfriend saw them back in 1976 with Kiss..He said they were great then. They are Great now...WHOOOP WHOOOP
I won't attend another event until the facility is complete...porta potties is not what i expected...I also didn't care for Cheap Tricks play list..not much you can do about that I know but I wanted to hear music that was familiar...not 80% their new album...classic rock bands should play classic rock..that's what i paid to see...
If there were ever a doubt why Cheap Trick was just enshrined invthe Rock and Roll Hall of Fame..seeing them live at River Cree erased any doubts. There are a lot of run of the mill performances that come through any given year but this evening stood out above all others. How the heck can Robin Zander still sing like he did years ago??!! A solid new record out just confirms this foursome is still at the top of their game. The new Venue may be a work in progress but where else can you be mere feet/metres away from music royalty?? There must have been twenty songs I wish I heard but yet totally satisfied with setlist..unless anyone was prepared a four hour outing??
The sound was so muddy, could not hear the guitar work and the vocals were just noise for the most part. This was my first time at this venue, very disappointing as I am a long time fan of the band.
I loved this show so much they had such great raw energy. Their sound was great. the seating was a little too crammed but I love coming to this small venue. The set list was spread out very well. Of course I wish their was more.
Cheap Trick never disappoint, they played all of their hits, except for "The Flame" (which I have heard they don't like that much for some reason). You feel like you are transported back in time watching these guys which of course they are older (but then so is the fan base for the most part). I liked Rick Nielson's antics, crazy guitars, throwing hundreds of guitar picks out to the audience and in general being a goofball ;) Robin Zander was even a bit chatty which is a bit of an anomaly :)
Sound tinny , too loud... And I've been to loud concerts (ie ac/dc)
Loved Cheap Trick. They always put on a great show. Peter Frampton was okay. Only knew a few of his songs. Overall he was not bad.
This was my 3rd time seeing Peter Frampton live and he did not disappoint. Plenty of energy, still plays a mean guitar and a very tight and talented band supporting him. The sound was awesome too and I still can't believe that the opening act - Cheap Trick - was playing through the same PA. They were so excessively loud and over modulated that it hurt. We were forced to go get earplugs just to make it bearable. It's too bad because they still have the potential to put on a great show. Your fans shouldn't leave the venue in pain.
Talented, personable, whitty, gracious...just a few words to describe the man himself. Have seen PF numerous times and this concert was just as entertaining. Voice absolutely still in tact and he can play those guitars as if he was back in the 70's again. Total walk down memory lane. Watching fellow audience members smile, sway and sing along is just so wonderful.
What a tight band! Great sound! Smokin' Guitarist. Frampton was very personable - not the obligatory - yeah Toronto crap. Anecdotes specific to the location, rolled with what was happening.
Finally, after all these years I got to see this great band. Despite the fact that some of these guys are in their 60's, from my seat I couldn't really tell the difference; this could have been them 'back in the day', the sound was the same and the energy was full on. Less hair now... I really enjoyed the setlist and my only complaint was that I'd missed out on seeing the band live for so many decades. Would have been cool to see Bun E. Carlos smoking a cigarette while playing, but I guess that's no longer legal in concert and Rick Nielsen's son did a great job on the kit.
A really good small venue concert. The band played everyone's favorites and seemed to be having fun themselves. I enjoyed them back in the late 1970's and I enjoy them now.
