    Chicago was very entertaining

by Anonymous on 2010-04-17TUCSON MUSIC HALL - Tucson

This was a fun musical with a vaudevile sound. It was nice to see the band on stage, and have the conductor involved in the musical. the dancing was incredible, the energy levels were super high! All in all, a very entertaining night.

    Chicago -

by Lmalach on 2010-04-06Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I really enjoyed this production excepts for two details - one bigger than the other. First - there was no costume change - so if someone hadn't seen the movie/play before they would have gotten confused as to which person was which character because everyone was wearing the same thing - mesh and leather. Even a coat and hat might have made the difference when a guy was trying to act as a reporter. Secondly, when the foreign lady died, she ended up dancing in the chorus after??? Maybe a costume change may have helped there too. It just made it seem really low budget. But I thought the singing and dancing was great!!! And I love that the orchestra was live and on the stage!

    Chicago

These guys were terrific! But everyone saw the Hollywood production with unlimited TALENT& cash behind it. These guys were Broadway and as good as it gets. However the unlimited POWER and pomp of Hollywood is tough to beat. I gave them a standing ovation! They were as good as the movie and blew the 1927 play into the weeds. . An obscure greeek playwrite SOPHOCHOLES

This is the first time we have been to a musical at the Jubilee. We have been to a see a single performer and that was well worth the time and money so we looked forward to seeing Chicago and we were not disapointed.

    I want my money back

by JRay on 2010-03-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Chicago is one of the best broadway shows of it's time & the music speaks for itself. Unfortunately, this rendition did not live up to it's phenominal history. What we saw in Edmonton was overall- Lackluster & Amiture. The voacals overall were ok however, there was no spark in the performances & most songs were sung as the performers remained stationary. Many other versions we have been privy too paired amazing & exciting dance numbers with the vocals...we missed that from this performance.

    Chicago was outstanding

by WASN on 2010-03-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Just loved the production. The singers had wonderful voices, and most important, the music did not overpower them. The story was very interesting and although it was a dark subject, the humour was just the right touch.

    Chicago was amazing!

by MissyLou on 2010-03-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

The show was an amazing specticale! The costumes and set were minimalistic, and the design was quite simple which helped showcase the amazing talents that were the actors, dancers and musicians! The characters were spot on and the whole cast seemed to be loving every second of the show, which of course made the audience LOVE IT with them. I would recommend this event to anyone who loves jazz, fun quircky characters, and dance. It was great.

    Not Impressed

by Regretful on 2010-03-30Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I wanted to suprise my wife and take her out to a show so I bought tickets and we went to see Chicago , my wife was excited for she had seen the movie and also owns the sound track she also has been to many shows in canada and the US . It was Boring ... There were no props and the performers did not change costumes at all , we left early into the second act for I was having a hard time staying awake and my wife was not Impressed . It was to bad that I feel this way for It being a Broad way show I thought it would have been better , instead we left early and I just through $200.00 in the trash .

    Chicago a disappointment

by bust on 2010-03-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

My recent 4 hour, one way trip to Edmonton to see "Chicago" ended in disappointment. The production appeared low budget and was without costume or scene changes. The vocals were acceptable but I expected more from a Broadway production. The male ensemble vocals were definitely lacking. My daughter commented that had she not seen the movie version she would not have known what was going on because the lack of scene changes left you wondering where the scene was taking place. I'm sorry I took the time and spent the money.

    Chicago was amazing

by Ukazeman on 2010-03-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

An incredible experience for such a quiet city. Chicago took to the stage for it's last show and did not disappoint. From the professional dance moves to the professional vocals, Chicago lit up the stage with a razzle dazzle that will not soon be forgotten.

Excellant production , cast was great and it was a very enjoyable performance. I enjoyaed the movie version of this production and in fact have a copoy on DVD. Both my wife and myself would certainly go a see it again and if we are ever in New york and it is playing again we would certainly be interested on seeing it on Broadway.

The last performance of Chicago was excellent.

by LerookLass on 2010-03-29Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We were thoroughly entertained and left the venue humming snippets of "Mister Cellophane," and "All That Jazz." The acting, the dancing and the voices were stellar and the orchestra was spot-on. The leading ladies were an absolute delight to watch. Carol Woods has a voice made in heaven. Such power and passion! Of special note was D. Vogel who played Mary Sunshine. What a voice! He had me ALMOST convinced he was a woman--a few low notes gave him away, but that didn't matter. His exuberance was palpable. I was also taken with Tom Riis Farrell in his portrayal of Amos. The audience collectively wanted to give him a sympathetic hug as he exited with his signature hand wiggle. Now, I want to see it again!

Considering there wasn't much to the set itself or costume changes, you didn't feel like you were missing anything! Wonderful voices and the dancing was superb! I would definitely go and see this show again.
