These days with a lot of old bands and artists you come away disappointed with the sound, their ability to deliver their music and what you grew up with. Not here. Sound and music and was great. Upbeat and fun performance by Chicago. Even though not all the original members anymore it sounded like it should. Amazing evening.
Chicago the Band is back on steroids. Still original founding members playing and the best of the best. I have many Chicago albums, all different. The relationship found in Chicago II is something never produced again anywhere, until September 4, 2018 in Calgary. I truly could not believe my ears, my emotions were uncontrolled and I could not stop smiling. My gosh, Chicago is back!!! Robert and Lee, you have the magic in this group that was in the original yet on steroids. What a voice Neil Donell has. You cannot distinguish him from the original vocals, what range! Nick Lane was perfect and Ray Herrmann a master of musical passion. The band is so tight and show how much they love the music. You have performed these songs thousands of times, yet it was like it was your first love. I got so emotional the tears ran down my cheeks. I can't imagine a better night out.
Chicago put on an amazing performance! Great musicians - Great seats - Great accoustics
I wished they mixed up their set list a bit. They mostly played instrumental the whole first half. All songs I had never heard of.
Great concert. Loved all the old songs. Would recommend for sure.
CHICAGO 2 and Greatest Hits live at Jubilee Auditorium Energy Emotion Fantastic Excellent musicians Highly Recommended Particularly at this venue
Awesome, amazing, beautiful music! Loved every minute of it!
I have seen Chicago live twice before and this was the best yet. Really smart for them to back to their roots with the Chicago 2 album. They followed that up in the second half with an encore of all their favorite hits. No they are not the original band they were 40 years ago. Yes they have lost a lot of original band members. But their replacement lead vocalist and trombone player is a real close second. You will not be disappointed.
Great musicianship, classic songs, excellent stage presence, love the horns!!
Should have been called "A Tribute to Chicago". Some original guys were there Robert Lamm, and he was ok but the rest were just playing the notes and didn't seem to really feel the music. Much better at this venue than at the SaddleDome. They played somgs from Chicago 2 which weren't their best IMO. The new lead singer was decent and got the songs fairly well but he's no Cetera.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening with a nice mix of the new and old songs. The acoustics for the Jubilee were perfect. The new lead singer from Canada is a perfect replacement to Jason Scheff, who left the band a year ago. Our third time to see Chicago, and with their extensive library of songs, makes every concert different.
As tight of a band as I have ever heard. Considering there were ten members that is really saying something. An incredible pleasure to watch and listen to perform.
Wow! This band is truly amazing!! From all the instruments that they play the oldies songs everything I thought it was going to be! What a great evening.
Great show, album two which brought back memories and then greatest hits, hope they announce the format before the next concert does anyone know what time it is, ha ha I mean does anyone know what the upcoming format will be at their Calgary Alberta concert in September 2018 ?? would love to know.....and go
They started out with unfamiliar but moved to memorable thereafter!
Chicago is such a talented band with an incredible amount of hits. The trombone player and base player are very entertaining. The sound in Vegas theatres is so much better than the hockey arena sound most of us are used to. Not a bad seat in the place. Highly recomend seeing Chicago when they return to Vegas.
Awesome show in a beautiful setting. Nice to hear the newest member of the band !
The band looked like they really were enjoying themselves after all these years. They were extremely tight, talented players. The song are timeless. The video wall was epic and they broke out in small groups to play which had a good ebb and flow to the shows dynamics. These guys are pros and deserve their success, overall it was smokin. Jeff Coffey just needed to dial back the vocals to make it smoother but maybe that was the sound teams fault? We don't need him to sound exactly like Peter Cetera maybe it was an off night but over all great job. The only negative on the show (and I don't know who to blame) was the opening act. A young girl who was forgettable, that played ukulele and then guitar poorly. She had a great voice, but could she not afford a pro guitarist to accompany her? She is backing up a legendary band and thinks she is at an acceptable level by herself! Maybe she has a huge ego or just bad judgement? Her lame dance moves during a canned audio instrumental break on that one techo/trance tune was embarrassing. She obviously didn't do her homework on what that audience demographic would enjoy. So many deserving opening acts and she got the spot. Must be a relative or friend of one...
Two legendary bands of the 70's to 80's on the same stage! What else is there to say, but that both were in fine form and it was a greatest-hits showcase from beginning to end all night long!! Personally, it was also rather special after having a "Meet & Greet" plus photo-op with all the band members of Chicago and then watching them on stage from the 4th row performing practically all of their biggest hits for over 2 hours with no intermission. Their concert was a testament to their longevity and why they deserve their recent induction (which was long-overdue) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
