Both Chicago and the Doobies still have a great sound
Simply one of the best concerts this summer. Both bands were amazing, playing so many of their past hits and sounding terrific while doing so. I went to see a band that would bring back my high school memories and was not disappointed. I have continued to listen to Chicago and the Doobies into my 50's and won't stop now.
Fifty years of excellence. Chicago sounds as good today as ever. They played all their hits. No one left disappointed. The Doobies were good as well, though I will admit, I went for Chicago. To top it off, it was a beautiful night for an outdoor concert.
Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire in Winnipeg- 3 hours of excellent entertainment- both bands amazing..Worth every penny. Brass section incredible. Such talented seasoned performers..they just know how to give a great show. So many hits. Take your dancing shoes! You will not be disappointed..this is a superb evening out.
Lip-sync by this band for sure. Disappointed, poor.
My cousin and I really enjoyed this show very much. It was great to hear the great songs that this group recorded and loved the trumpet, saxophone and the trombone blend with the other instruments. looking forward when they well be playing with Earth Wind and Fire.
What can you say about a band of seasoned , professional, extremely talented musicians, playing all the fave songs you grew up with at a great venue, w ith great sound and not a bad seat in the house!!Simply fantastic! Had a great time inside the show, outside in the casino was an absolute nightmare,1hour long linups at the buffet as well as the upstairs lounge, don't even look at the nice restaurant down the hall without a reservation. and it seemed the staff were ill prepared for a night with a lot of people (Fri.). left hungry but happy to see a great band.THX.
Wow.....not sure what else to say! Wow! Chicago was in the RiverRock Casino and it was the perfect venue for this iconic band. This is only the second time I have seen Chicago in Vancouver. In my humble opinion, this was even better than last time, and last time they rocked the house! The playlist was most of their classics. Their voices and brass instruments as usual were fantastic! Why don't we have bands like this anymore! If I could, I would of gone to the second night's show as well. Wow......
I go to see a lot of shows, and Chicago I see every time they come to town, and they're always absolutely great. The sound is so tight; can clearly define the vocals as well as the rest of the band, and boy can they still play and sing after being together for so many years. The drums, guitars and especially the horn section (which are truly outstanding) really rock and have it all together. I can't recommend them highly enough, and they are certainly worth every dollar. CHICAGO FOREVER!
I thoroughly enjoyed the timeless music of Chicago at the River Rock Casino in Richmond. The men sang out strong as they reminisced through voice, instruments and video images of the years spanning their careers. At the end of the night, the men shook hands with the crowd that was lingering near the stage, which encompassed the overall feeling of a warm and enjoyable small venue concert. Loved it!
I had seen Chicago at least four times during the 70's. Still loved their performance when I saw them the other night. Brought back all of the lyrics I had memorized back then and the dance moves.
My dream " come true" to see this band play after all these years and I was not disappointed. The music took me back to 1973 and onward...you guys brought tears to my eyes not only once but many times....but I dance the night away and will never forget that night.
saw an amazing show in Calgary late fall 2015 this show did not compare -band just didnt seem into it -some songs seemed cut short -jason scheff missing made a huge difference, new guy just didnt seem into it or engaging -new song which is fabulous called NOW WASNT PLAYED -VENUE allowed people from back rows to dance/stand in front of front row, may as well bought the cheap seat.- -these guys generally seem upbeat on previous shows just seemed they were not overly interested it appeared, first couple songs especially sound was not tuned in it seemed sorry but kind of disappointed brought a friend who is a huge fan first show in years thought it was just ok, with no wow factor :(:(
Amazing performance. I am glad that I was there to watch this legendary band. Not many chances in a lifetime.
Without a doubt this was one of the best concerts I've been to in a very long time. Highly recommend seeing Chicago if you get the chance.
I've seen Chicago live in their heyday (late 70's), and while it cannot possibly be as cool and exciting to see a band 40 years later as when they were superstars, this was a memorable experience, nevertheless. I only recently realized that Chicago was at heart a jazz band. Seeing them perform their hits live with the filter of 40 years helped me appreciate the complexity and artistry of their music - the emphasis on brass, of course, but also the perfect changes in tempo and instrumentation. I hadn't realized during the era when these songs were part of the pop culture the richness and variety of sounds they were producing to make these masterpieces. A great concert,. perfectly executed by top notch musicians.
Simply amazing to hear this band that I have been a fan of since 1972. They were in great form -- sounded great. We even got to speak to a couple of the members afterwards in a cafe at River Rock. Definitely sounded as great as when we saw them in the 70's. Worth every penny and the venue was wonderful.
Went to see Chicago on June 16th at the River Rick Casino in Richmond. Chicago played one song after another for about 100 minutes. The instrumentals were very tight, with levels of musicianship rarely seen today. Very impressive. The vocals were another matter. Their usual bass player/singer was not there, and the substitute just didn't have a quality voice. He hit all the notes, but had a sqeaky voice. The same could be said for the keyboard player that took over from Bill Champlin; he just doesn't have much of a voice. The band cranked out hit after hit, which was great to see and hear. However, as the band is currently configured, I'm not in any rush to go see them again, if ever.
The middle of this show was a little blah, but then it picked up at the end! Great trombone, saxophone & trumpet playing!!!
