LOUD!
by jazzytap on 2012-02-22Red Robinson Show Theatre - CoquitlamRating: 1 out of 5Being 71 and a lover of jazz and pop standards, I have never been a big fan of rock music although I do enjoy some music in that genre. I had taught music for 33 years in the public schools and enjoyed performing Chicago's "Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?" and "If You Leave Me Now" so I thought it would be good to hear it live. But to my dismay, everything at this concert was loud, loud, loud! The bass reverberated throughout my whole body and my ears were pounding. I don't think the sound technician or the performers know the meaning of soft. I had to leave the theatre during the last half hour. Yes, the musicians are talented and some of the music is good but the evening was a waste of my time and money. What a contrast to Tony Bennett whom I was fortunate to hear last month. That is a class music act. Tony exudes energy, heart and soul whereas Chicago mainly exudes loudness and energy.
