  • CHICAGO - Unforgetable

by Gramps1956 on 2012-02-05National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Solid two hours of one of the best bands in a hundred years. A modern day genious in arrangements, lyrics and sound. The best concert I ever attended !!!! They didnt let us down; energetic, wonderful and electrifying !!!! I predict a new release from an old song found in some box stored away for years; I believe,,,, DO YOU ???

  • Chicago plays Ottawa and floors us all!!

by mcmblues on 2012-02-05National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

Chicago played Ottawa and played all their hits. The singer, was no Peter Cetera, but he rang in damn close. It brought back a lot of memories for me and my wife. We lived to dance to their hits back in the Seventies. Whenever one of their songs played, we were up on our feet before the 1st four bars were finished. The new lead guitar player and singer are young but play exceptionally well. Only trouble I found with them is they weren't very people friendly. At the end, of the show, They stood back and just smiled at fans, while the rest of the band shook hands or fisted fans politely. But, overall, it's a show not to be missed.

  • what a great show!

I love Chicago - I grew up with their music. They had a great group of musicians on the stage, and brought us into the show our clapping and dancing. I loved the variety of music, and the connection from song to song.

  • CHICAGO returns to Ottawa- worth waiting for

by leadhand on 2012-02-05National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

I have been waiting 40 years to see Chicago live. The band didn't disappoint. I went for the choreography, and sound of the horn section. The brass section is what makes Chicago unique. The musican's have a passion for performing, it sure looked like they have fun on stage. I know I had FUN in the audience. Thank you Chicago for coming to Ottawa.

  • Chicago @ 45

by pharmerphil on 2012-02-05National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 5 out of 5

45 years and still going strong. Building on the foundation of four of the original members and the incredible talent of the other five band members, Chicago ripped the roof off the house of the NAC on Friday night. Totally enjoyed the energy that emanated from the stage and it was infectious!

  • May require some fine tuning

by Gwailo on 2012-02-05National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - OttawaRating: 4 out of 5

While I always enjoy the spectre of a concert by groups, bands and individuals and just about all genres of music, there was something amiss (for me) in the recent (Friday night) show by Chicago. Their selection of tunes, the general showmanship of the various artists and the overall presentation were more than satisfactory, but the show hinted at a last minute setup or simply poor adjustment to sound levels and use of microphones. Overall, the volume was excessive (at least in our seats in the Mezzanine) and frequently the words were lost in the shear volume of the music. The vocals at times produced that type of sound caused by someone being too close to the microphone and because of the strength of experience in the band I assumed that it was due to the equipment rather than the performer. Nonetheless, a lively performance which I think was very well received by the audience.

  • Amazing!

I saw Chicago 25 years ago... they were great then, they're amazing now! Better than ever, tighter than ever. Great showmanship, great sound!! The brass could have been a little louder (ok, so I'm biased, I'm a trumpet player!)... my teenage kids listen to them at home all the time... they also loved it! Worth every dollar!

  • Chicago returns to Massey Hall

by ChrisR on 2012-02-04Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert! Wonderful to hear their repertoire of hits and popular songs, with a really tight brass sound! Voices were good, and music tight for most part - some missed timing, but overall, it made me want to get their entire body of work in digital format and see them in concert again!

Chicago was SOOOO good! They played all my faves and they played them perfectly! Went with 3 girlfriends and we all loved it! Will be going to see them again in Bufalo in 3 months. Can't wait.

  • Chicago hit all the right notes!

    by Unhappy2 on 2012-02-02Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This concert just reinforced for me two things: 1) there is no better place to hear music than Massey Hall and 2) the music we grew up to was and is the best. A beautiful blend of lyrics, instruments and talent. What a night! Even with the 'new guys' the sound and rhythm was there. The memories for myself and it seemed, the entire audience were flooding back as we sang and clapped along. The best part was that there was no opening act and no intermission. It was 110 minutes of non-stop music. We had a blast.

  • Chicago was FANTASTIC!!!!!

by maureenandleslie on 2012-02-02Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Our hands are still swollen from clapping and our throats sore from singing!!! they are awesome, loved every second of the show. Wish I could go again Saturday night!

  • Chicago Great Talent

    by Kitten2 on 2012-02-02Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

It may have been our seat location (near front on floor left of stage under balcony), but the sound was not clear. We couldn't distinguish the words to the songs. Other than that, they guys are very talented and entertaining! The musical sound was fabulous - just the words got lost.

  • Chicago Rocks Toronto

Still rockin' and the chops to play, Chicago included almost all of their top 40 material from their extensive song catalog

  • Chicago Jan 31 2012

    by Osc3 on 2012-02-02Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was an awesome show. They played every big hit you could hope for, gave it their all, and were obviously enjoying the performance as much as the audience. This was a top ten experience at a great venue.

  • Chicago - January 31st

  • A trip worth taking!!

by AIbber on 2012-02-02Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It was hard to tell who was having more fun on Tuesday night - the band or the audience! The group is full of true entertainers who definitely seemed to be enjoying themselves on the legendary Massey Hall stage. I can't think of one favourite song which they didn't play in a jam packed two hour session.

  • Great night with Chicago!
