    Thought provoking.....

by R. and T on 2019-10-06Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I have been going to Fall for Dance North since the beginning and last nights focus on "Indigenous Dancers" from around the world, was by far the most thought provoking yet. It was disturbing, heart warming, thrilling, .... all rolled into one night! Thank you so much for putting on this event and making it accessible to all!

    Fabulous contemporary dance

by J. M. on 2019-10-06Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I attended 2 performances: Program 1 (Canada, Sweden, Brazil) and Program 3 (indigenous). I liked Program 1 better, but both were creative and exciting.

Fall for Dance North provides an inspiring mix of dance styles for the audience to enjoy. The cost of the tickets allows students, seniors and dedicated dance lovers to come together for the experience. Access to community dance workshops and masterclasses is wonderful. I love this dance event!

    Did not understand

by Linda on 2019-10-05Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Usually dances tell a story, however I do not see any story here except for the second dance. The programme does not provide any details either. The lasts dance is too long and got boring.

    First Fall for Dance Performance

by Sandra on 2019-10-05Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

The price of the tickets are really affordable and encourages everyone to get into arts. The performances were good - the first couple were a bit more abstract and hard for us to fully understand and appreciate. The last one by the Brazil dance group was phenomenal. Everyone should at least attend and try it once!

A great idea with ok results

by Dancelover on 2019-10-05Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I love the idea of bringing dancer from all over the world at accessible prices. Great festival for sure. Thanks for such a brilliant idea and organization. My fifth star doesn't appear because of the closing act, the Brazilian company was on the edge of everything and nothing, a mix between classical ballet with classical music, Brazilian rhythms, lack of personality, and excess of pretension, trying to achieve too many styles in one piece. Their stage setting was also poorly chosen. The rest of the show, great.

Some companies were outstanding. Love Fall for Dance

by g. r. on 2019-10-05Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

Loved the show in spite of the lousy seats. I ordered tix the day they came out and was prompted to the best seats available and found myself at the end of the row by the wall with compromised visibility . I never would have chosen these seats. Disappointed in ticketmaster not the show

    Amazed

by Eevee on 2019-10-05Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) - Toronto

I went to see Group 4 in particular because I hadn't seen them for at least 20 years and they blew me away then. In the end, I loved Group 3 the best, then Group 2, then Group 1. I didn't like Group 4 at all because the piece they did was a pastiche, very confusing and too long.

Fall for Dance North - absolutely amazing

by LillyAnna on 2018-10-11Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

I was blown away from the start of the show to the very end. Each performance offered something unique and different. The quality of dances were second to none, a very high level of talent. The variety of the performers were quite interesting you did not know what to expect each was mind blowing.

    Obeah Opera was mind blowing!

by GMG1 on 2018-10-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

Fall for Dance North was wonderful and such an opportunity to see many dance forms and companies perform in Toronto. Most of all, Obeah Opera was fantastic!! This opera is a must see and such an empowering excerpt for women. I look forward to seeing the full work at Lluminato 2019.

Fall for Dance North has me falling in love again

by Saffronite on 2018-10-09Sony Centre For The Performing Arts - Toronto

We are so lucky to have the opportunity to see world class dance in Toronto. So diverse, enchanting, professional, and dynamic. The Soweto Skeleton Movers and Compagnie Herve Koubi were rare treats that took my breath away.
