About

Godsmack were a big part of the late ’90s hard rock revival, and they’ve continued to lead the way for legacy rock acts with three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, 28 Top 10 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, three Grammy nominations and over 20 million albums sold worldwide. The quartet formed in Lawrence, Massachusetts in 1995 and played their first shows in Boston bars before recording their 1997 independent album, All Wound Up…, which was later reworked as their quadruple-platinum, major label debut, Godsmack, in 1998. The band’s profile grew as they joined the Ozzfest tour in 1999 and 2000, dropped their sophomore album Awake on Halloween 2000 and earned their first two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with the album’s title track and 2002’s “I Stand Alone” from The Scorpion King soundtrack. Ahead of the release of 2003’s Faceless, Godsmack assembled their long-standing core lineup of founding members Sully Erna and Robbie Merrill along with guitarist Tony Rombola and drummer Shannon Larkin. The album kicked off a three-album streak of Billboard 200 No. 1 debuts including 2006’s IV and 2010’s The Oracle. The band collected their second career platinum-certified single with “Bulletproof” off 2018’s When Legends Rise, which reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, the band unveiled their eighth studio album, Lighting Up the Sky.

    Godsmack Hammered Hamilton!!

by SaintSinner on 2011-08-24Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Great show from the first song to the encore!! Tons of energy from the whole band and an incredible job done with the dueling drumkits and the jam medleys! Sully had the crowd kicking it back at them and really got everyone pumped! Great lights - great sound! Nice mix of new material and old classics. Wish they did a Toronto show too!

    poor

    by 0u812 on 2011-08-24Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

OK!!! don't get me wrong, Sully and the boy's put on a good performance. BUT. after the first song Sully tells everybody that they didn't bring pyro, nor laser lights, then it seemed like they rushed through there 12 songs so they can get back to there good old USA. They didn't even play the biggest song on there new album Whiskey Hangover, nor the song Greed. Another huge hit. Guess us Canadians should just be happy they even came to there performance this time and didn't cancel.

I missed most of the opening bands so I cant say much about them. They put on an unreal show and really got the crowd involved. Did a wicked drum duet with the lead singer and played everything you'd want to hear. Was a great show and they perform well live. Just wish they had some explosions or fireworks, but then again it was a small stage setup, would have given them 5 stars otherwise.

From the head banging sound of mike portnoy and adrenaline mob, to the crowd getting straight out of line with godsmack, the concert hall was never without that rock atmosphere that we have all come to know and expect from such icons. And without fail, the drum battle got the crowd roaring with non stop excitement before the whole floor erupted in one giant mosh pit.

    Great show!

by blyss on 2011-08-23Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

Loved it all :) Drove from north of Toronto to Hamilton with 7 others. Opening bands were awesome, got everyone going & ready for Godsmack. Drum battle was kick ass, too!! Rotating stage, what?! Beer a little expensive, but eh! Lots of freebees thrown into the crowd. I myself was just there for Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (one of the opening bands) I don't really listen to Godsmack but amazing!! Not a huge venue/set up so it was nice to be a little more intimate but still ample energy. Overall, a great time.
