About

Green Day redefined punk rock in a post-grunge world. Rising from the Bay Area punk scene in 1987, the band released several EPs before coalescing into their long-standing lineup of vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool. The trio shared the independent album Kerplunk in 1991 before releasing their major label debut Dookie in 1994. Behind singles like “Longview,” “Basket Case” and “When I Come Around,” which each topped the Alternative Airplay chart, Dookie reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Dookie earned Green Day three Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Alternative Music Performance, and the album continues to stand as the band’s best-selling release with over 20 million copies sold worldwide. Green Day followed with 1995’s Insomniac and 1997’s Nimrod, with the latter boasting the band’s biggest creative shift with the rare acoustic single, “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).” After 2000’s Warning, Green Day spent the next few years developing their first of several ambitious projects, the 2004 punk rock opera American Idiot. The album became Green Day’s first to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and it logged two Top 10 singles with “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and “Wake Me Up When September Ends.” American Idiot garnered seven Grammy nominations and won two, including Best Rock Album. The band won the Best Rock Album Grammy again with 2009’s concept album 21st Century Breakdown. A stage adaptation of American Idiot debuted on Broadway in 2010 and won two Tony Awards and a Grammy for the cast recording. Furthermore, Green Day were first-ballot inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

  • GenX & GenZ

by RP on 2024-08-06Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I bought tickets to celebrate my milestone birthday. My husband is not as much a fan as I - so my 18 year old daughter came with me. We had so much fun!! This was her first concert and I’m so happy to report it was absolutely fantastic!. Thank you for the memory

  • Loved the Tour - Hated the Venue

    by liseglise23 on 2024-08-06Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I won't attend this venue again. Zero atmosphere. Long lines for merch. Weak sound quality. 9$ water before tip. Great tour but just won't bother with this venue again. Talking to friends who went to Osheaga and just a way better experience was had in MTL vs. TO.

  • UNBLIEVABLE Show! Green Day at the top of their game

by St. Jimmy Canuck on 2024-08-06Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

BEST Green Day show I've been to. They played for 2.5 hours non-stop! Likely a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear DOOKIE and AMERICAN IDIOT live in their entirety. They sounded as tight as ever and had energy to spare. Do not miss any opportunities to see these modern rock legends - ever.

  • Great Show, Need Band Times

by Matt on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I would have given this 5 stars hands down if one thing was different. List when bands are going to be on. I was really excited to see Rancid, doors opened at 5:30. The bill was The Linda Linda's, Rancid, Smashing Pumpkins and Green Day. We got to the show at 6:30 just in time to hear the last 20 seconds of Ruby Soho, Rancid's final song. I really wish they would give you the times when each band is expected to be on. I really didn't anticipate 2 bands being done their sets in an hour.

  • Green Day

by Just amazing time of my life! on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved it just amazing! Green Day just rocked! Can’t wait till they come back!

  • Best show so far for the summer of 2024!

by Shawn on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

We go to about 60 shows a summer. This was by the far the best of the season so far. They were on point, entertaining, fun, funny, engaging. They made the audience feel like one of the band. It was an awesome experience. Highly recommend!

  • Green day is amazing sound in Rogers centre not that good

by Moon on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The band performance was really high quality and excellent! Billie Joe's voice is very good and strong. It was lovely to see them live. However the sound quality in Rogers centre is never good. I saw Coldplay there from the floor 6 years ago and it was okay but not mind blowing and I was in section 5 for Green day and the sound was not good. The bass and kick drum were too load and overall not good balance. I think smaller venues have better sound quality.

  • Green Day was EPIC

by AMAZING!!! on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

First off, The Smashing Pumpkins blew me away, they were great and soooo heavy, wasn’t sure what to expect of them and they were great. But GREEN DAY!!!!! So glad I went to this show, they were so awesome, I loved every minute of it one of my favourite bands and they did not disappoint. Took my 14 old daughter, it was so cool seeing her dance and sing along to one of the bands I grew up loving.

  • AMAZING!!!

by DoraD on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

AMAZING!!! I would watch them again and again!!! Incredible sound, incredible entertainment. They are just so good!!!

  • Had a blast!

by Alloways on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The opening acts were great, once smashing pumpkins finsihed their set, I already felt like the tickets were good value....Then Greenday came out. I saw them 15 years agao and they have only gotten better with age. They are at their absolute prime. Hearing the entire Dookie album 30 years after it released was epic. I grew up with that album. The theatrics, pyro, lights, etc. was better than expected. The damn Dookie plane even dropped inflabale bombs on the crowd! That crowd knew every word and Billie Joe kept everyone on their feet and signing along.

  • Green Day never disappoints!

by Carol Kos on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd time seeing Green Day live! Not the best venue, especially in the 500 level section. I prefer Budweiser Stage! But the band was still awesome as ever! We made it down to the 100 level at the tail end of the show! Now that was spectacular! Wish I could have afforded to buy tickets in that section for the whole show!

  • Fabulous !

by Lynda on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Best concert in years! Thoroughly enjoyed their non stop show. I don’t know how they keep up that energy level for almost three hours! FANTASTIC entertainment!

  • Amazing!

by Kerri on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan of Green Day since Dookie was released. A long time! This concert is in my top concerts of all time. They played all of my favourite songs. I had such a great time singing along and reminiscing.

  • Fabulous among the ages

by Ariel on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Green Day was the first band I truly connected with as a kid, as a teenager I saw them in concert in Barrie which is still my best concert ever. 30 years later Green Day blew my mind yet again with their sound, enthusiasm, energy and dramatics. This time I brought my young kid close to the age when I fell in love with music and it touched him just as strongly.

  • Absolutely Amazing!!!!

by Timbo on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

  • Best Concert Ever!

by Mick on 2024-08-05Rogers Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the, if not the greatest concert I have ever seen! They knocked it out of the ball park! The sound was great, with no feed back. The volume was loud, but not to the point where you needed ear plugs. The light show was incredible and they kept the crowd very involved. It was an awesome experience!

  • Awesome show
