About

The Grey Cup is the annual Canadian Football League (CFL) championship game. The game have been held nearly every year since its inaugural match in 1909, with exceptions between 1916 and 1918, as well as 2020. The trophy has exchanged hands with many notable recipients, including its Grey Cup-leading, 18-time winner Toronto Argonauts and the CFL’s longest dynasty, the Edmonton Elks, who claimed five consecutive championships between 1978 and 1982. The final, which is accompanied by the week-long Grey Cup Festival celebration, has regularly changed its host city, with Toronto, Vancouver and Hamilton holding the most exhibitions throughout the years. On November 17 2024, the 111th Grey Cup will be played in Vancouver for the 17th time overall, with BC Place set to be the venue for the 10th time.

    Exciting Finish

by 1chad on 2023-11-22Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

The Hammer hosted the Grey Cup with gusto! Hope they host again soon. the Pregame and Half Time shows were excellent, surpassed only by the excitement of the game itself.

Game was good but the venue wasn’t.

by AG on 2023-11-22Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

We went down right away at half time for some food and they were out of gravy and hotdogs. The hot chocolate tasted really weird and the Tim Horton’s coffee didn’t taste like Tim’s, was very strong and tasted burnt. Food and drinks were bad and expensive. Don’t mind paying for stadium prices when it’s edible but we ended up dumping both our drink and eating rapidly cooling fries with no gravy or hot dogs to go with them.

    Awesome Grey Cup Festival

by RidergirlCP on 2023-11-22Tim Hortons Field - Hamilton

We had great fun at the Grey Cup Festival. Well run and organized. The game day experience was good. Green Day were awesome!! The game was awesome. The only negative was the stadium music was too loud and was playing over the referee calls, fan cheering, and parts of the game. They should have had cheerleaders on the field during some of the many commercial breaks instead of a bad DJ!

    Grey Cup Experience

by Sect 214 on 2022-11-26Mosaic Stadium - Regina

The Saturday night CFL party rooms by the stadium were great. The Mosaic Stadium experience went very well (although many ticket holders didn’t show up). However the advertised tailgate party was a bust. With a thousand (reserved estimate?) bundled fans in the area, there were only 2 kiosks serving beer and both had only one person serving. We arrived two hours before gametime but lineups were so bad that some of us never even got a beer. How can anyone label this a tailgate party? Washrooms were another issue. There were only 9 construction style toilets available. Lineups were terrible. I know I was desperately looking for a tree.

    Outdoor venue

by Lance on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

The stadium offered some reprieve from the cold with the covered concourse . They should have had more hot drink stands. The outdoor venue before the game was kinda sad. You had 1000s of people and had literally 2 drink stands 1 beer stand and 1 whisky and they were placed right beside each other. The lineups were a hundred deep mess and they placed the 2 stands beside the stage which made it so you couldnt get near the center. They had it in this large park too and they didnt use the space . You had to go through a random hole in a fence to get inside the area and walk through snow they didnt bother clearing. I found the fact that there was no security measures at all at the entrances to the stadium strange. Saw some guys with metal wands and they didnt even use them. Just stood there. The halftime show was pretty sad. Nothing to say just ...ya A pretty piss poor job of snow removal in the stands. There was like a foot of snow under our seats in our section. Im not saying its needed to be spotless but its the grey cup and it hadnt snowed in days.

1st Grey Cup,it was an exciting atmosphere

by Maiser!!! on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

-We went to enjoy as a family and its to bad that liquor has to tarnish it.For example a fan a few rows ahead of us a fan tossed back a metal bell out of dissapointment & nearly hit our daughter. -Also after the 1st half I stood in line for approximately 15min to discover they ran out of food except for one item. -Also I make an above wage and still found items very costly. -For a family event there was an abundance of vulgar language. -At 1/2 time disappointed the entertainment stage was at the end very difficult to view for most, should be in the middle like past Grey Cups.

    Unorganized and Unprepared

    by R. T. on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

The venue ran out of food at halftime. Why wouldn’t you order enough to accommodate the biggest game of the season? We took a shuttle to the game with no issues. When the game was over people just crowded around the shuttle stop. Nobody lined up! There was a roped section to line up next to the shuttle stop but it was fenced off which made no sense. We waited over an hour to get on a shuttle. They should have had someone lining people up in an orderly fashion which would have been organized. Poor planning or no planning?

    No Smoking

by Shawn on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

No designated smoking area for people who do smoke. With an event that takes a lot in time, what a disappointment. I wont be attending games at mosiac stadium any time soon.

    Just there for the game

by Gigs on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

We did not take part in all the extraneous events, we drove down and drove home same day. Free parking well marked but actual shuttle stops could have been more clearly marked. Shuttle service at the end of the game could have had lines more clearly deliniated. Replay of previous game activity on the large screen a distraction from the actual game. Big screen best when live play being shown.

Overall it was a great time for my brother and for my 11 year old grandson. A close game with a very exciting closing quarter! Only wish our Riders had been in it.

    Horrible

by Brandon on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

What a waste of money. The cfl should be ashamed of themselves. If you can't make a grey cup work in Saskatchewan than just fold the league. What a micky mouse production with one of the worst half time shows ive ever seen. Thank goodness the sound quality was so bad you couldn't hear it. Left before half time show even finished. Never going to another cfl event.

    It had it all...

    by Riders4evah on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

Incredible game and fantastic experience overall. Only my second Grey Cup and my wife's first, but we're already talking about next year's Cup, and the one after that... took in the Festival this time (last time only the game), and that's definitely the way to go. Awesome!

    Grey Cup 109

by Reilly on 2022-11-23Mosaic Stadium - Regina

The venue was great and the game itself was fun. A double SnowBird flyover was awesome. My two complaints are the Tailgate party and the stage for the Half Time Show. One beer tub and one liquor truck is woefully poor planning. If you go to any Rider event there's a beer tub everywhere you turn. No lineup, everyone is happy and you sell more beer. But the Grey Cup planners... the lineup literally took 40 minute to get one drink. And there was no gates to form a line so everyone was cheating their way in causing a lot of bad blood. As for 1/2 time, I'm sure the show looked great on TV, but I sat at the opposite end of the stadium and could see four or five little dots in front of a big blue screen. But the game was good. I enjoyed it and will be back next time its in Regina.
