About

Jenny Lewis' fifth solo album, Joy'All, is out June 9th. Produced by Dave Cobb and recorded at the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville, Joy'All sees the highly anticipated return of one of the most compelling singer-songwriters of the 21st century embarking on a new era, in a new town--and on a new label, as she joins the iconic roster of Blue Note/Capitol Records. Heralded by the "strummy, beach bummy" (VULTURE) first single "Puppy and a Truck," and the subsequent "Psychos"- declared as "easily , one of Lewis' greatest creations" (PASTE)-Joy'All has already garnered a rapturous reception of critical acclaim: "four years on from her career-best On The Line, she's sounding better than ever." (PAPER). A culmination of Lewis' prolific 20+ year career, Joy'All follows her four previous solo albums --2019's On The Line, 2014's The Voyager , 2008's Acid Tongue  and her 2006 solo debut Rabbit Fur Coat--as well as her universally-loved work in Rilo Kiley and side projects Nice As Fuck, Jenny & Johnny, and The Postal Service. With no signs of slowing down for 2023, Jenny is ready to hit the road for an epic itinerary that includes both the upcoming 20th anniversary Postal Service and Death Cab for Cutie co-headline tour as well as supporting dates for the Beck and Phoenix co-headline Summer Odyssey Tour, in addition to her own headlining dates in support of Joy'All.

    Perfection

by KristenBrutto on 2019-11-04L'Astral - Montréal

Jenny delivered. I would have prefered seating (none at L'astral), as there was an abundance of 6"+ men pushing through and standing in front. Still, as I lept and peeked between them.. I was entranced. Beautiful costume, perfect pitch, lovely harmonies, great lineup choice. I was relieved that The Voyageur was done in a Reggae fashion as it is way too heart-wrenching in original form. I love that she had these female musicians with her. *An application for one of those positions would be a dream. Having a mic in the telephone for On the Line was actually a fantastically neat idea. Seemed like too much (maybe Hall reverb?) at the start of the show (for such a venue), but things smoothed, and the vocals were cranked and clear. Keyboards were nice. Super cute and tight bassist. Rhythm was on + great multi-tasking. Lead guitar tones seemed a bit light and bright, compared to the record. All in all, it was an amazing live performance. *To the one who wore a Glendora shirt, and then dissed the song... ugh. That tune was of the time and place. It's girl emo catchiness would still be appreciated by teen listeners, or even by me on the pump-up drive to work.

by Amerc on 2019-11-04L'Astral - Montréal

I’ve loved Jenny Lewis for almost two decades and this was the first live show I’d seen if her. She did not disappoint. Easily my favorite concert ever.

    Jenny at the Danforth

by Terry on 2019-11-03The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Jenny Lewis is a beautiful musician who took the audience off the planet for while on Halloween night in Toronto. Wonderful songs, beautiful, creative melodies and Jenny's singular voice wrapped the audience in her warm embrace. Thank you, Jenny! I won't forget this concert. Numerous eargasms! Kudos to Laforce for a truly original, fun set. Keep it up, it was fantastic.
