About

As the original legends of arena rock, few bands in existence put on a show quite like Journey. Anchored by singer Arnel Pineda's thrilling vocals and Neal Schon's unstoppable guitars, the band continues to show fans both old and new exactly how it's done as they tear through marathon sets of classics like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms." Formed in 1973 in San Francisco from the ashes of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band has since gone through a number of lineup changes — only stalwart guitarist Neal Schon has been with every incarnation. Despite a rotating roster, the band has sold 52 million albums in the U.S., making them the eleventh best-selling band in American history. While the '70s and '80s provided them with the most commercial success, their current manifestation with Filipino singer Arnel Pineda has given them truly global breadth.

    Way too loud!

    by Hamilton92512 on 2012-09-26Copps Coliseum - Hamilton

The opening acts were awesome. Pat Benatar should have headlined the show. Loverboy was also impressive. Journey was a disappointment. The music was way too loud and we could not even make out the words. If you go, take some ear plugs just to get through the final performance. The new singer had a great voice and was highly, perhaps even too energetic, but his stage presence was lacking. The only reason I would recommend this concert to a friend is to see Pat Benatar.

    Foreigner 10 Journey 0

    by 4AllTheWay on 2011-11-09Key Arena - Seattle

Not only did Foreigner steal the show the concert ensured I will never waste a cent on Journey ever again. JOURNEY SUCKED so much I was embarrassed for them. I went with a lifelong Journey fan who had never seen them before (we drove to Seattle from Canada), she bought a t-shirt and was so excited. After the concert she wanted to throw the t-shirt in the garbage. DO NOT waste time and money on Journey. You will thank me honestly. DO go see Foreigner though, they were awesome and worked their butts off!

    Poor sound mixing

by aessedai on 2011-10-25KeyArena - Seattle

The highlight of the evening was Foreigner much to my dismay. I've always enjoyed Foreigner but didn't expect the phenomenol show that they put on. Unfortunately, Journey felt the need to out do them in the volume department and it resulted in indecipherable noise. Neil Schon's screaming guitar solos almost drove me out of the arena and the sound mixing had his guitar overpowering the rest of the band, especially the vocals to the point that it was hard to enjoy the music at all. If it had been balanced properly, I think the concert would have been amazing.

    Foreigner stole the show!

by NightSweats on 2011-10-24KeyArena - Seattle

I wasn't even going to arrive in time to see Night Ranger, but I'm glad I did. They had incredible energy and sounded great! Everytime I see Foriegner they just get better. Their live show keeps you on your feet signing along with them! Sounded great and sang every song you expected to hear. Journey was...okay...the sound guy must have gone to sleep because at times it was loud to the point of being static sounding. The lead singer is super talented, but way too bouncy for the rest of them...just didn't seem like a good fit.

Over all it was good. The sound man for Journey needed to have the lead singers mike louder or the bands sound lower because I found it hard to hear him singing and he has such a fantastic voice. Foreigner was awesome and the sound guys had the levels down better. My biggest complaint was the drunkards in the crowd and the number of people who were seat cruising. Jesus! You bought a ticket for a specific seat......sit your ass down in it! I am hoping Journey comes to Vancouver next time.

Journey was HORRIBLE. We walked out!!

by Hoopsie on 2011-10-24KeyArena - Seattle

Journey should fire their soundman pronto!! They were so loud that people were covering their ears. The singing was totally distorted. We stayed for 4 songs, but could not understand a word the lead singer was saying. I was very disappointed, but I really came for Foreigner It was not the venue, because Night Ranger & Foreigner were crystal clear. Foreigner was AWESOME!!!

    Journey Sucked

by Stocks on 2011-10-24KeyArena - Seattle

Worst concert ever went to. We left 4 songs into the concert. You could not hear the lead singer at all. Foreigner was great they out shined Journey by a long shot. We were not the only ones who left > We talked to about 50 people on our way to the Monorail In Seattle and they all said the samething can"t hear the singer sucked Foreigner was better. Maybe Journey should have used the same sound guys as Foreigner

Foreigner was fantastic, Journey not so much

by BCgals on 2011-10-24KeyArena - Seattle

We looked forward to this concert for months. Foreigner gave us everything we expected -- good music, good vocals, good sound and ... you can remember where you were for each song. Journey on the other hand was disappointing, not just for us, as the session went on the crowd participated less also other than for a couple of songs. They would have been great except the sound s---ed, couldn't hear the vocals well enough and then, what was with Neil Schonn. How many guitar solos did he really think we wanted to hear? Too bad really. There was so much potential for this to be so much more.

Foreigner and Journey make ears ring

by Austen on 2011-10-23KeyArena - Seattle

2 major bands from the 80's come back with new singers and are just as impressive. The 2 lead singers sound amazingly like the old singers. Pulling out classic tunes and getting the crowd on their feet. Although most sat down again when Journey played their new stuff. Excellent concert overall... even Night rangers classics set the tone for a fun evening.

    Journey was terrible

by Annabel on 2011-10-12MGM Grand Theatre - Las Vegas

Very disappointing show, the only good band was Foreigner. Journey was terrible, not worth the money. Half the auditorium cleared out about 6 songs into Journey. Would never waste the money on them again.

    Foreigner was AWESOME

by Jsrocks on 2011-10-10MGM Garden Arena - Las Vegas

Absolutely LOVED Foreginer when we saw them a couple nights ago at the MGM in Las Vegas. Night Ranger was average - their one hit Sister Christian of course was a big hit...and I actually remembered more songs then I thought. Foreigner blew my mind! They were so great! Sounds was spectacular in this venue and they kept the crowds rocking their whole set. Definately worth the price of the ticket just to see them! Journey was average - a bit of a let down after Foreigner had just rocked the stage previously, but overall they were good - lead singer was great. Loved the show - especially because of Foreigner!!!

    good time overall

by Jsrocks on 2011-10-10MGM Garden Arena - Las Vegas

The new lead singer was amazing. I wasn't sure what to expect, although I heard he was good.....he didn't disappoint. He sounded great. Overall the show was "average". I did enjoy it, but I felt they just didn't have enough "rock/upbeat" songs to keep the crowd "up". Not to say they weren't entertaining, cause they were, but overall they were average. Combined with Night Ranger and especially Foreigner it was a great show.

    Journey was terrible

by vinnychase on 2011-10-10MGM Grand Hotel - Las Vegas

Foreigner was great and Night Ranger put on a good show. Journey was terrible and we walked out. How can these guys get away with it. It is criminal that they use the name Journey.

by Traveller100 on 2011-09-27Gexa Energy Pavilion - Dallas

I travelled to Texas to see friends I have met 3 years ago and at the same time watch Journey in Dallas and then Houston. It was well worth the trip. Arnel delivered and owned Gexa Energy Pavilion. Journey Energy in the air. Arnel was as hot as the TEXAS WEATHER :) JOURNEY IS IN THE TEXAN AIR!!!

    Foreigner Rocks the Amphitheatre!

by kidsandcows on 2011-08-21Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Enjoyed all three bands at the concert but Foreigner was definitely my favourite. Kelly Hanson has helped revive this fabulous 70's /80's band and they are as good or better than the original! Just can't say the same about the new lead singer for Journey. While he has an amazing voice I think it was the timing that set Steve Perry apart with the lead vocals in the original Journey. It just didn't measure up to the original band. Was still great to hear the Journey songs that we all love! Even Night Ranger was fun to listen to and got the concert off to a 'rockin' start. Would definitely recommend this concert to anyone who enjoys the great music from 'the good ole days' that we all miss!

    Journey was amazing!!!!

by Judymisty on 2011-08-15Molson Canadian Amphitheatre - Toronto

Awesome concert!! We Missed Night Ranger due to Toronto traffic and poor parking but did see Foreigner and Journey. Sang all the hits I wanted to hear and Arnel is simply an amazing singer with great showmanship. I would recommend that if they are in a city nearby, GO SEE THEM and you will not be disappointed!

    Enjoyable show

    by Anonymous on 2011-08-15Molson amp. - Toronto,Ontario

We thought it was a great show. They played all there old hit songs that we went there to hear. Not a spectacular stage show, but we were not expecting one either that is why we bought lawn seat. It was a nice evening to enjoy a blast from our past.
