KMFDM will never stop!
by RedSonja on 2011-08-18The Phoenix Concert Theatre - TorontoKMFDM's Toronto show at The Phoenix was a sonic symphony for the new millennium. There is something impersonal about industrial music, I hardly know the lyrics to the KMFDM songs I like best and barely understand what mastermind Sascha Koniezko (aka the Kapt'n) is screaming about on the new tracks But making a personal connection with the audience is not what KMFDM is about. On Tuesday night they assaulted us fans with their aggressive music and we begged them for more. The two encores were appreciated, but most were dying for another ATTAK. The band is still in top form. They played some of their old hits but mainly focused on material from the second half of their career. The fans were not disappointed because the new tracks from "WTF" kicked our asses. The show did not lose a moment of mad intensity. If you're a fan of their music, don't be cynical that En Esch is long gone and give this new KMFDM a shot, they more than deserve it.
