  • Good old southern rock at the MTS Center

by Sixstring on 2011-07-13MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Lynyrd Skynyrd rocked the MTS Center with their brand of Southern guitar laden rock, playing their hearts out and giving the audience what they wanted, with a touch of AmariCanadian pride thrown in for good measure.

  • Brings back memories!

by Anonymous on 2011-07-12MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Although there is only one original member left, the songs are just as good as they were thirty years ago. Original lead singer Ronnie has been replaced by competent brother Johnnie, and although the show could have been a bit longer, it was enjoyable just the same.

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd underwhelms....

by Raffo on 2011-07-12MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 1 out of 5

Skynyrd may still be an okay band but I was a little offended. I've been a performer in the past and what kind of prima donna has to ask the audience to show the band some love over and over every two minutes when they are already on their feet...throughout pretty much the entire concert!!! And I have NO idea why these people were standing! The sound was really awful. It was grating and actually hurt! I have no problem with loud music. Loved Tom Petty... best concert I've ever been at... loved the Eagles, John Bonnham's tribute to Lead Zepplin, etc, etc.. This thing sucked! Doucet was good... but Skynyrd sucked. I'm still a fan and love my recordings... but they suck. I've seen tributes to them in California that were WAAAAAY better. Really! Well... tributes are often better, it seems to me. They actually have something to prove and HAVE to sound like the recordings to make anyone pay attention. The real acts often don't bother... My rating... POOR!

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd

by Angeld on 2011-07-12MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 3 out of 5

it would have been better if they put on a show instead of trying to get the crowd to be the show

  • Solid

It was good stuff, but a little loud for the small venue.

  • Skynyrd nation!

Freaking amazing concert! If you missed it you should be kicking yourself now!

  • Fabulous!

by taby on 2011-07-12MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was excellent. It was a true example that bands don't need fancy pyrotechnics or high priced technology. Great bands do it all with their intruments, voices and songs! The only thing missing was that this concert belongs on an open stage to really set the tone.

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd not original but still good

by NickyA on 2011-07-12MTS Centre - WinnipegRating: 4 out of 5

Very energetic, very loud because of the many guitars, which is one of their trademarks. I was impressed with the brother's vocals, the only song I could really tell a big difference on was Free Bird, other then that he was pretty much bang on. They looked like they were really having a good time up there, amazing guitar playing.

With only one original band member, this group can still rock out the tunes! The musicians are top notch, enjoyed every minute of the concert!!!!!!

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd Rocked!

by kapre on 2011-07-12Credit Union Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

What a truly talented band. It was a band that didn't have to rely on lazer lights or costume changes or extra long stages to impress the crowd - they just played their music. And they played their music well. A must see for all the Lynyrd Skynyrd fans out there!
