Marianas Trench in Concert
Multi-Platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench has been big news in Canada for years, and they caught on with US audiences in a major way following their acclaimed 2015 album Astoria, a slick collection of larger-than-life pop masterpieces that showcased their playful lyrical sensibility and knack for anthemic choruses. In concert, Marianas Trench is a whirlwind of emotion and attitude, rocking the stage with adrenaline-filled performances that put their tight musicianship front and center. Frontman Josh Ramsay is a born performer, and his energy is completely infectious as he sings his heart out on upbeat jams like "This Means War" and "Celebrity Status." The rest of the band keeps pace with lively performances that always leave fans thoroughly rocked and ready for more.
Marianas Trench Background
Marianas Trench was formed in Vancouver in 2001 by Josh Ramsay, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who previously fronted the group Ramsay Fiction. He joined forces with Matt Webb (lead guitar), Mike Ayley (bass), and Ian Casselman (drums), and Marianas Trench made their debut in 2002 with a self-titled EP. In 2006, the band released their full-length debut album Fix Me on 604 Records, which they supported with extensive touring across Canada. The album went gold in Canada, but its success paled in comparison to the band's 2009 sophomore LP Masterpiece Theatre, a Top 5 hit on the Canadian Albums Chart that established them as pop royalty virtually overnight. Their third album Ever After was equally well-received, cracking the Top 10 and earning a prestigious Juno Award nomination for Album of the Year, and earning the band the title of Juno Award winners for Group of the Year in 2013. Their fourth album Astoria earned them a 2016 Juno nomination for Group of the Year and unleashed the power ballad Who Do You Love. It also opened up Marianas Trench to the European market where the band toured twice in support of Astoria. Currently in the studio, Marianas Trench is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their 5th album set for release in early 2019.
Lolo was amazing her energy was awesome! Marianas trench was great loved josh voice and he hit so many high notes. The setlist was perfect. Im so glad i was able to see them play live. I would love to see them again :) !!!
MT has always been a favourite of mine ever since I started highschool over a decade ago! This was an amazing experience in Moncton, they had an amazing energy as they always have! I met some amazing fans there too, I was brought back to my angsty highschool teenager days when they performed their top tracks from that era <3
The show was unbelievable. The band still has it.They were better than ever, and their fans are unbelievable
I bought the tickets for my 2 daughters in their early 20s and they've been waiting since they were 5 years old for this. I was disappointed when I heard they only played 1.5hrs and no encore, but they didn't complain, they were just pumped to check that one off their list.
There’s guys a must see definitely tank in my top 3 concerts I’ve went to the vocals were beyond amazing and on point the guitar bass and drums on point on every song the cracked jokes with the crowd and when Josh went around the crowd the engagement of the was epic . These guys can rock and are the real deal I can’t wait to see them again someday
The set pieces were amazing! The band was phenomenal! You could tell there was a lot of work put in to it and that they really enjoyed what they were doing! It was a very memorable experience.

My experience with Ticketmaster was great, I never had any problems seeing where I would be seated, or getting my tickets everything went smoothly. The event itself the only thing I can say is the seats the set up were WAYYY TOO CLOSE to each other, skinny people were sitting touching arms and if you had any weight to you good luck because you had to try to squeeze in
My husband and I took our 11 yr old son to his first, and definitely not last, Mariana's Trench concert. They are always so lively and sound great. Interacting with the crowd is always exciting. Especially when Joshua Ramsay walked right beside us....our son was absolutely star struck xox I will go see them every time they come to the Maritimes. Always a fantastic time!
It was PHENOMENAL!!! The lights, the music, and the security were all great. I have been waiting for over a decade to see Marianas Trench. I cried happy tears for most of the show, scream singing to the songs that mean so much to me. Lølø was a wonderful surprise as well, I had never heard of her but her opening performance was fantastic.
I can say right now that chairs on the floor need to be a thing of the past. People will always go up to the stage and the people that paid for VIP were visibly upset. Outside of that the show was amazing!!!! The should system has improved a lot from previous shows.
This was the first time I saw Marianas Trench live, the fans were awesome and I enjoyed myself, but I felt like Josh could’ve sang a bit even though the crowd did a lot but other than that amazing show.
This is my favourite band. For obvious reasons. Anyone who has seen them live knows that their stage presence is unmatched!!! I’ve been to many concerts in my life and I’ve been mtrench atleast 20+ times now. If they are on tour, no matter what… i’ll be attending. I can’t wait for the new album and tour to keep enjoying this once in a lifetime band.
Not great, i have seen much better concerts at Rama. Hotel Mira sang well and you could here the lyrics. Josh just relied on the crowd never putting more than 5 words together. He couldn't keep up, confusing the band. If he was sick i wish they would have cancelled and rescheduled.
This was the best concert I’ve ever been to in my 35 years of life. Marianas Trench was excellent, the music and sound were amazing - only problem was the waiting lines at the venue
The venue was great and easy to access. The staff on location were fast and efficient. Would definitely recommend this venue. The band itself left much to be desired. I’ve seen them before. Unsure if the lead singer was sick, issue with the mic or what was going on but he missed a lot of his own lyrics and relied heavily on the crowd in almost nearly every song. Some were butchered entirely.
I LOVE Marian's Trench, but I am quite disappointed in this concert. I go to the concert to hear Josh Ramsey SING. But he hardly sang!! The audience sang a lot but the performance would have been so much better had he sung. He has such an amazing voice with amazing range. I also think the sound levels needed to be checked as at times the drums and guitars were louder than Josh's singing, when he did sing. I know the songs are big crowd pleasers that everyone wants to sing to, but then do the harmonies or descants, or something so we can hear you sing!!! The concert during Covid he did online was better because there was no crowd to drown him out and he had to sing the whole time. Honestly wish I could give higher stars :(
I have had the pleasure of seeing Marianas Trench a few times and this time did not disappoint. It was my daughters first concert and she was blown away. They interacted with the crowd and just had a blast. You could tell Josh's voice was giving out towards the end but I would rather that than a lip syncing concert. Hotel Mira was also 100% on point. I cannot wait to see them again.
Opener was Hotel Mira. They're awesome!!!!! They have a new fan!! lol Marianas Trench was incredible. Music, sound, vibes were great! Would totally see both bands again! Highy recommend. And for Rama, they never fail, staff was very friendly and great!:)
I hate seated concerts. Thank you casino rama for making me realize this. Can't goto the stage cause I didn't buy a floor ticket....yeah, the band really appreciated it when no one went to hold his hand. Worst Concert I've ever been to cause I had to sit
