Marianas Trench in Concert
Multi-Platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench has been big news in Canada for years, and they caught on with US audiences in a major way following their acclaimed 2015 album Astoria, a slick collection of larger-than-life pop masterpieces that showcased their playful lyrical sensibility and knack for anthemic choruses. In concert, Marianas Trench is a whirlwind of emotion and attitude, rocking the stage with adrenaline-filled performances that put their tight musicianship front and center. Frontman Josh Ramsay is a born performer, and his energy is completely infectious as he sings his heart out on upbeat jams like "This Means War" and "Celebrity Status." The rest of the band keeps pace with lively performances that always leave fans thoroughly rocked and ready for more.
Marianas Trench Background
Marianas Trench was formed in Vancouver in 2001 by Josh Ramsay, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who previously fronted the group Ramsay Fiction. He joined forces with Matt Webb (lead guitar), Mike Ayley (bass), and Ian Casselman (drums), and Marianas Trench made their debut in 2002 with a self-titled EP. In 2006, the band released their full-length debut album Fix Me on 604 Records, which they supported with extensive touring across Canada. The album went gold in Canada, but its success paled in comparison to the band's 2009 sophomore LP Masterpiece Theatre, a Top 5 hit on the Canadian Albums Chart that established them as pop royalty virtually overnight. Their third album Ever After was equally well-received, cracking the Top 10 and earning a prestigious Juno Award nomination for Album of the Year, and earning the band the title of Juno Award winners for Group of the Year in 2013. Their fourth album Astoria earned them a 2016 Juno nomination for Group of the Year and unleashed the power ballad Who Do You Love. It also opened up Marianas Trench to the European market where the band toured twice in support of Astoria. Currently in the studio, Marianas Trench is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their 5th album set for release in early 2019.

Have seen them many times before. This is my wifes favorite band, and this show was their greatest to date!! It was the compete package. The singing, lights, sound. Everything was perfect. What a night at Ceasars Windsor!!
We had an amazing time at the show and his vocals were spot on. We enjoyed it very much and had a terrific night. Can't wait till they come back!
Fourth time seeing these guys live, and they NEVER disappoint! They played a little something for everyone, and blew me away with the showmanship of the new album. LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! 💙🖤
Actually incredible! I’ve loved this group since I was 7 years old and I can’t believe that they are just as good now as they were then. They put on a great show, and Josh’s voice is insane!
The concert was so amazing. They played a lot of songs from their old albums but also songs from their latest one as well. They were funny as they talked to the crowd and the crowd loved them. They are such a wonderful band that I would go and see again.
Second time seeing them! They are amazing performers, they put on an amazing show and you will not be disappointed! They played all of their hits and some songs from their new album! These days when concerts are becoming extremely expensive, they are worth every penny!

I was a bit nervous about the show because I’d seen mixed reviews about MT live, but I was not disappointed in the slightest! The band sounded great (Josh’s voice was mind bending live— those high notes were UNREAL), they had anmazing energy, and did a good job of connecting with the audience. I appreciated that they definitely tried to play a range of music from throughout their catalogue although I was bummed they didn’t play Celebrity Status when I’d seen they played it at other shows ☹️ I really liked the venue and the size was smaller than many shows I’ve been to recently, so I appreciated how great the view was! The only thing I’d say that I didn’t love about the show is that when everyone was jumping and dancing at times you could feel the whole balcony shaking which was kind of horrifying, but I guess a testament to how much fun people were having? All in all, I had a great time, and am super glad I bought the tickets— 14 year old me that was obsessed with Fix Me was living her best life!!
Oh man did they ever bring the nostalgia. I felt like a teenager all over again. If you are reading reviews deciding where you want to sit I’m telling you; you won’t regret the splurge for front row. I’m still living in pure AWW! Amazing concert guys ! Thank you for being so interactive !

Marianas Trench is always an amazing live show. Their harmonies and stage presence are second to none. The First Ontario Concert Hall in Hamilton was a really nice venue, too.
Went to 14 concerts this year and this is by far one of the top performances I've seen all year, ramsay's energy and vocals are unmatched!
The venue was so lovely and every staff member was very helpful and kind! And Marianas Trench put on an amazing show as per usual :) overall a great night out!
Oh goodness. Tickets in Vancouver…$200, tickets in Seattle $30, at a much smaller venue, likely a way better show and ended up getting moved to the front row! What an epic show!!
Marianas trench was absolutely amazing, every mistake was laughed at and moved on. Josh Ramsay remembered people from the vip meet and greet which was so validating. However we could not here any of lolo when she was singing so as we were not already fans of her we had no idea what she was singing and just kinda sat there bored. Her music also sounds completely different online then it did at the concert?? I didn’t love how uncoordinated the vip experience was, we had to beg our hotel to let us check in at 2 because vip check in was at 3 but then we just sat there for an hour afterwards? The meet and greet was really good but I wish it was longer especially after waiting an hour. The pictures were rushed we had no idea what was happening and only got one picture instead of two. After the picture we were told we could stay and wait 2 hours for the concert and leave, we hadn’t eaten so we left but I believe something else happened after we left that we missed out on because we weren’t told about it? We also weren’t aware that vip early access was at a different door so we sat and waited at the wrong door. It was like truly amazing concert despite the issues I don’t know if I will ever feel whole again.
Great concert! My first time seeing Marianas Trench live and I would go again. Great stage affects, awesome presence by the band, great crowd interaction. Loved it!
