Minnesota Wild History
The state of Minnesota was without an NHL franchise for seven years after the 1993 departure of the North Stars. That void was filled when the city of Saint Paul landed the Wild as an expansion team in 2000. Hall of Famer Jacques Lemaire took over as the franchise's first head coach.
The Wild advanced to the Western Conference Final in 2003 behind the play of right wing Marián Gáborík, and has gone on to post a winning record in almost every season since. Starting with the 2012-2013 season, Minnesota reached the postseason six consecutive times.
Center Mikko Koivu spent his entire NHL career with the Wild and is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, points and assists. In 2022, the Wild retired Koivu's jersey, the first player in franchise history to have a jersey retired.

First time to the Xcel Energy Centre. Great seats and a great game! Awesome time with the whole family...all 16 of us! Happy 50th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
very easy to pick up your tickets, Exel Centre is a venue to see........ Be proud Minnesota
The game was ok, But Racism is alive and well in Minnesota as my wife was told to move.......
The game was great but you don't get to see when buying the tickets , the tv camera platforms that potentialy block your view of some parts of the ice
It was great to be at a NHL game again, the whole atmosphere the caliber of play, the fan participation it was all awesome. Definitely will be back.
It was a fantastic game. Loved Club Level seating. Staff was super friendly. Venue was very nice.
Amazing game. Habs pulled out the 8-1 Victory! The game had everything any hockey fan could ever ask for. There was a fight, lots of goals, a penalty shot, and even a hat trick. That is something that not everyone gets to witness. I had never been to the Xcel Center before and I was very impressed. Clean facility, not a bad seat in the house, no huge line ups for food and beverages, just a cool place. Two thumbs up!
The Xcel Energy Centre is marvellous. We were very impressed with the venue and the staff were very accommodating. We had brought our aunt to her first Canadiens game (even though she started supporting them when she was 15) on her 80th birthday. She even made her way down to ice lever to be part of the group waiting for pictures at the warm up before the game! She was also thrilled by having her birthday wish on the Jumbotron - she had never had that happen before! It was an amazing game for us (Canadien fans) but I'm sure we would have had a great time no matter what the end result of the game would have been! The only thing that was upsetting was that we were led to believe that there was a casino on the club level and then were told that it was only sponsored by a casino. But all in all it was a great experience!
Very happy that the tickets were so reasonable, only complaint is there wasn't much leg room, seats were close together.
Great game. Great facility. St. Paul is a nice place.
great. but not like hockey in canada. Great game thou.. hockey just not the same in USA.
Great game, great atmosphere. First NHL game in a long time and it was lots of fun! Go Jets Go -
Had a great time, would have been much better if the Wild won.
The wild played well but fell behind and never caught up. Next time.
Great seats!Saw the whole ice without people standing in front of you!Great price!
The venue was very nice and our seats were excellent. The actual hockey game itself was a little boring just cause there were not fights and hardly any hitting. But our team won!!
This was my 13 year old sons first NHL regular season game. He truly had a great time watching one of his favorite players in Alexander Ovechkin. An experience I'm sure he'll never forget.
My son & I were in town to see the Vikings/Lions game and caught the Wild/Flyers as well. We are from Winnipeg and had an excellent time at both events. The Xcel Energy Center is awesome and the people they have working there are first class when in comes to customer service. Highly recommemded!! GO LIONS!!!
Modano's last game was fantastic with a huge win by the Dallas Stars in a shootout. The fans were given a huge treat by Modano who was named the game's 1st star & skated onto the ice after the game ended wearing a Minnesota North Stars jersey. Awesome. The fans showed a ton of class by giving him a minute to 2 minute standing ovation in the 1st period during a TV time out. Great fans, great arena & the employee's were all super friendly & hellpful. Winnipeg KJ
Took in the game against the Minnesota Wild and it was worth every penny, not to mention the 14 hour drive to get there! Great venue. Comfortable.
