    Amazing

by Dancing queen on 2019-11-12Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was the best production of many I have seen over years. Sets and costumes would not be rivalled and the ballet performance wonderful. If show was on longer in area I would go and see again. Such an enjoyable few hours. Thank you Russian Moscow ballet.

    Great..!!!

    by brckr1 on 2017-12-08State Theatre - Portland

This is the 4th or 5th time to see he Moscow Ballets performance of the Nutcracker. And as usual they continue to Wow and leave lasting impressions to all, especially the young children seeing for the first time.! The profession photographer allowed to be right beside us was annoying, continuous clicking took away from the performance, price of the seats and Gift for my wife who loves this specific Ballet and was upsetting

    Moscow Ballet Nutrcracker was delightful.

by PrairieDot on 2017-11-27Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

I took my granddaughter to this event and was thoroughly delighted by this very classic rendition of the Nutcracker story, supported by Tchaikovsky's wonderful compositions. The dancers were wonderful and supported by some local Winnipeg talent. Set decoration left a bit to be desired, but the calibre of performance made up for that.

It was my first time ever attending a ballet with my family but the show was wonderful and the dancers were fantastic - it was a lovely experience and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone to see to get into the Christmas spirit!

    Performance great, but...

by mrseak on 2017-11-18Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Dancing beautiful, costumes amazing, set wonderful... but...seats in this area should not be sold for a ballet..we could not see the dancers feet..and we did not have cheap tickets..also a couple in front of us taking videos. Usher approached once, but they continued. My friend advised usher at intermission and tho they continued shooting in second half occasionally, the usher did not speak to them again. Very distracting to friend immediately behind them. Woman in front of me had her cell phone on, in her lap. When I asked her to turn it off, she did, but told me she was reading the synopsis! Perhaps this has become such a huge problem the ushers cannot handle it. Perhaps in future the usual no tech announcements. should include a what to do if your seating neighbour is ignorant...I would not have approached the cell phone user if usher had been more responsive.

    Beautiful ballet but tired dancers

by Momof3andadog on 2017-11-16Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I've seen several performance of this ballet by other companies, including Alberta Ballet. We saw the 6 p.m. show which was after the Matinee so I am wondering if the dancers were tired. Some of the arms and leg movements were sloppy and not as crisp as I've seen before. The Arabian duo were amazing with their acrobatic talent combined with a few dance moves but the rest of the duos were not inspiring. Nothing stood out as an amazing rendition of this and I was expecting a lot from the Moscow Ballet. I would return to see another performance in Vancouver but perhaps not the Nutcracker.

Amazing from the start: Moscow ballet

by Anonymous on 2017-11-16Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The Moscow ballet performance of the Nut Cracker was absolutely amazing: from the costumes all hand made to the dancing and choreography. A pleasure to see world class dancers. Amazing

    What were they thinking?

by Fred3 on 2017-11-16Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I was do disappointed in this event. We go to the Nutcracker every year( for the last 14 years) I thought the sets were not up to par - the costumes were great. I felt that the Moscow Ballet sent their second or third string touring company to Vancouver

    Very enjoyable!

by BRVancouver on 2017-11-16Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We don’t get enough international ballet companies coming to Vancouver. Every time one comes it is a treat. The performances were really enjoyable, and it was great to see local children and youth participating in the ballet with the Russian company. Totally recommended. And we definitively need more international ballet companies to perform in Vancouver!

    First Ballet

by grant123 on 2017-11-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Very much enjoyed the show. We attend live shows frequently but I had never been to a Ballet. My wife had. Thought I would give it a try and was very impressed.

    Was thoroughly enjoyed.

by giftgiverMom on 2017-11-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

It was such a wonderful event for my son and his wife. I had gifted the tickets as an early Christmas gift. The only detractor for them was that individuals were allowed to enter after the performance started. I am surprised, as most theatres of this caliber usually do not do this. This comment is for the Ticket Master purchase. First I bought the tickets for a gift and could only get the tickets sent to my address and I live in the Okanagan. My Son and his Wife live in Vancouver so I had to send them (added cost) to them. Also, I bought the 'Picture' option but the 'tickets' were so confusing they did not even realize that one of the 'tickets' was for this so they missed out on that. So disappointed.

    Moscow ballet

by setithegreat on 2017-11-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was an excellent performance of the favourite Christmas ballet. It was very well organised with the Children(mice) nicely in step but not overly intrusive. The Corps de ballet were outstanding in their grace and precision and the Siamese dancers were amazing..

    Reviw of Nutcracker

by Debdd on 2017-11-15Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I found the ballet underwhelming. The dancers did their best, it lacked feeling and seemed focused on the technical aspects. I was disappointed as my daughter has been asking for a few years to see the nut cracker. The sets, costumes and general feel of the ballet left us disappointed.
