    The whole weekend rocked!!!

by Chewysmith21 on 2014-05-21Columbus Crew Stadium - Columbus

Everything was awesome! The crew was quick and efficient. Everything was well organized. The only complaint I would have is there could have been better options for food. You're there for a whole day. Something better than a hot dog or sausage would have been appreciated.

Rock on the Range is a must see

by Litlblondegrl on 2013-05-28Columbus Crew Stadium - Columbus

Awesome event, great venue and friendly event staff. The band line ups were outstanding and the shows ... all I can say is WOW! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE raise the main stage and Pabst stage. I don't mind the jumbo trons, but when I am in the pit and within 15 rows of the stage I should be able to see the band!

    Unforgettable weekend!

by Nickname13578964322577 on 2013-05-22Crew Stadium - Columbus, Ohio

A friend and I drove down to Columbus, Ohio from Ontario, Canada and had an amazing time. The crowd was very easy going and energetic. Cold beer was easily accessible from any spot in the crowd. Alice in Chains were fantastic live and Bush put on a great show too. There was a little market area for merchandise and other cool vendors. The food was all right, they could have offered some more healthy alternatives though. The transition time in between artists was faily quick and seemless. Security was pretty lax which was greatly appreciated. We had a great time in the city after the shows and the shopping centre was oustanding. I will definitely return next year!! I highly recommend getting floor tickets rather than stadium seats. The stadium seats had a great view but were especially hot in the sun and the floor experience was much more intimate. We had a great view of every band.

Rock on the range 2013 was amazing!

by Anonymous on 2013-05-20Columbus Crew Stadium - Columbus

This was my second year going and it was just as amazing as the first trip down to crew stadium for this festival. There were a lot of great bands on the line-up and it was great to have Soundgarden close up the event on Sunday night. I cant wait until next year.

Five FInger Death Punch stole the show!

by Anonymous on 2012-06-12Columbus Crew Stadium - Columbus

Zombie was fantastic as always. Can't wait for next year. Volbeat and In This Moment are my new faves at this time. Going to see Volbeat again next week. Two critcisms....the sound at The Jagermeister Stage sucked....Saturday and Sunday! Maybe a better system, engineers or both? Need bigger video screens for that placr too. The weather was great, beer prices were ridiculous but Crew Stadium is a very cool Venue.

    Excellent show.....

by BDGLFR on 2012-06-12Columbus Crew Stadium - Columbus

I have to admit I am not a huge metal fan but after this festival it has really opened my eyes to some of the newer bands coming up! It was a great venue to showcase a lot of talent and see a lot of bands you would normally not see. There are defintiely some of the side stage bands that will be on the main stage in no time - like Lacuna Coil and In This Moment.

Alice in chains and Volbeat took the show

    by libo2 on 2011-08-24MTS Centre - Winnipeg

Alice in Chains did not disappoint with their new singer. If you closed your eyes you would swear you were listening to the original. Volbeat was a pleasant surprise. This is a danish band new to north America. I have heard them on satellite radio but not on power 97. I guess they need to get on board and share this amazing singer with their listeners. The other acts like Five finger death punch were also good. This is my third time to Rock on the Range and I was not disappointed. The venue change I actually liked because I got to stay dry and enjoy the show rather then hide from the rain. Good decision in my opinion. Going again next year :)

    Disappointment

    by Bruins2011 on 2011-08-23MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I was looking forward to attending Rock on the Range because I had never seen Evanescence or Alice in Chains live. However, I was disappointed by several aspects. Firstly I was horrified by the terrible sound mixing done for most of the performances. I am by no means an expert and I recognize that trying to replicate a studio sound in an arena is an impossible task. But, the inability of the sound crew to mix the sound for various bands was grossly apparent. There were many times that all I heard was driving bass and guitars and no vocals. It was especially disappointing during the Evanescence set because she has such a beautiful voice. It's a shame I could barely hear it from Section 206 near the stage! I know for a fact that it is not the fault of the building or the equipment. I wonder if these sound crews travel with the bands or are hired locally. Secondly, the bigger and more disturbing disappointment was the lack of MTS Centre and Winnipeg Police ability to crack down on smokers who were smoking cigarettes and marijuana at their seats. I'm not sure if the staff don't care or they feel that the smoking ban is difficult to enforce at these events. They are really good a nagging you to check your ticket but pay no attention to the events occurring in the sections. My wife and I were sitting in section 206 not far away from the entrance to that section. There were FOUR people around us who constantly lit up during the last three performances of the night. Normally I could care less but my wife is terribly sensitive to cigarette smoke. Her eyes water and she coughs and sneezes constantly. It would not have been an issue in an open air stadium. It was an issue in the MTS Centre. She is a huge Evanescence fan and it was a struggle for her to enjoy her performance. It got so bad that we left before Alice and Chains even left. For someone like myself that was looking forward to seeing AIC live for the first time I was disappointed and very angry. I will never bring my wife to a concert at the MTS Centre and allow her to suffer that punishment again!

Shoulve've kept it at the Canad Stadium. And Five Finger Death Punch should have played before Alice in Chains, not Evanesance.

    Alice in Chains were great

by Durge on 2011-08-23MTS Centre - Winnipeg

I think I will wait till the last minute next year to get tickets ..really disappointed to have it indoors what a waste of a perfect Winnipeg day. I did not want to spend my entire day inside..so I came and left not seening most to the opening acts..Really not impressed with the bands that I did see as they are not my thing. I like my music a bit heavier Hinder.....blah Finger finger death Punch...they got me going Evenescnce...ZZZzzzzzzz the other stage.... I did not stick around thank God for ALice in Chains who played a excellent show and made the whole day worth it.

    Evanescence amazing voice and sound

    by peppy25 on 2011-08-22MTS Centre - Winnipeg

It was a great show got to see all the bands that I have wanted to see, but since i went VIP it think that we should get better food and the standing section should be raised up a bit so we the VIP can get a better view. But other than that great show and great music.

    ROTR 2011

by Anonymous on 2011-08-22MTS Centre - Winnipeg

With the lineup from the start not being as impressive, when Sum 41 had to cancel because of Deryck injuries I was hoping that the rest of the bands would make up for it. They didnt. It could have been a much better show. The sound for many of the bands on the monster stage was sadly lacking. For the majority of them I could not hear the vocals (I was on the floor directly in front at the fence) .However the sound for the Jägermeister stage was great! I found it difficult to move from stage to stage. There was a large chunk of floor space that was blocked off in front of the sound board in the centre of the floor. Not once throughout the day did I see this space being used just mts staff blocking the entrances. I think there were too many people on the floor for everything to flow nicely. There was just not enough floor space for the amount of bodies. It could definatly work having it inside again. There are just a few glitches that need to be smoothed out in order for it to work. I understand that this was the first year and there are going to be some glitches. Even with how everything happened I will be back again next year.
