Rows not well marked so we ended up in the wrong seats.

by Kate on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

We weren’t given any help finding our seats so ended up in the wrong row. This was embarrassing for us and other patrons were rude and irritated when we realized our error and tried to move to our assigned seats. We left at that point and didn’t ultimately use the seats at all. We had a young baby with us which was enough of a challenge without the rude and intolerant patrons. Very disappointing experience. What little we saw of the K9 Equine event was entertaining.

    Excellent

It was outstanding as always. Entertaining and professional, whether you love horses or just love good entertainment, The Royal never disappoints.

    Horse show was good but......

by Ellie on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Traffic/parking was sad & frustrating. Horse show was great as usual. We sat on Lakeshore Blvd for over an hour & then found out how scarce parking spots were. Didn't help with the football game & the Leafs were in town. We drove 3 hrs to sit for more than hour in traffic. Will definitely think twice before we get tickets for next year.

    My favourite event ever

by Laura on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

I have been going to the RAWF since childhood. Things come and go but the horse show is always a great event. I look forward to it every year.

    Every year is different

by DG on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

This is a must do for famlies of all ages. Such a great way for kids to learn about so so much! It is something our family looks forward to every year! It is pretty affordable and you can stay all day! I encourage everyone to try it once - you will be back the next year!

    Family time

by Cathbaus on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Dog show is always a family favourite Love the international jumping competition but wish they would upgrade the sound system so the emcee’s/guests can be understood. A regular size bottle of water at $6.50 was outrageous! For a family of water we spent $80 for one day. Great variety of vendors - something for everyone. The vendor with Lattkes should have two locations. I really wanted done but couldn’t wait the 45 minutes in the lineup. Would like to see a larger area for children to interact with the dogs after the super dog shows. The musical ride was a great addition in 2022. Hope that returns in the future. A great deal of organization goes into such a mammoth event. More people at the entrance on the west side closest to the Go transit. Had to wait in a long line up to get in on the Saturday. Snacks, just like the water were priced extraordinarily high. ( ice cream- popcorn)

    Too expensive and parking disaster

by CM on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The Royal will always hold a special place in my heart, but it has gotten so expensive now... Most of the vendors I loved are gone from the main area and the parking was a disaster (30 dollars and we had to wait for hours in lineups everywhere, no underground parking, double booked with an Argos game, it was awful how it was run this year). So sad. Not affordable for families anymore and not geared to the horse community either.

    A Fantastic Experience

by Steve on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

I haven't been to the Royal Winter Fair in 22 years, and I had forgotten how enormous it is. My teenage daughter and I spent seven hours there, including the two hours we were watching the afternoon arena event, and we still didn't get to see everything. I should have made a plan on how to tackle the Fair so nothing gets missed. As soon as you walk in the door you're hit with that wonderful barn scent, and the sounds of livestock that are nearby. We got there at 9:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty empty, but it quickly filled up and it got so crowded that you'll be advised to make your way to the arena well before the start time on your ticket. I was impressed with the quantity and quality of the vendors that filled the exhibition hall, especially the food.

    Parking

by RM on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Do not hold a horse show event that involves bringing kids the same day as a football game. 2 hours to arrive from midtown Toronto is inexcusable as well as holding all the outdoor parking for tailgating. I won’t come there again!! Does the horse show not have the same right to the parking as the Horse show?? There was no one to tell us where to go and that the lots were full before we got to the parking lane. AND $30 to park go a couple of hours is awful!

    Availability of Parking

by Sue on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

After two hours of looking for parking on Saturday afternoon I went home. The Argo game complicated the parking situation. The Royal was unable to give any remuneration. It was a disappointing day

    Parking disaster

by TO mom on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Should have warned me that there was an argos game on at the same time and to avoid driving ! Took an hour to find a parking spot and we missed our show! Also, with kids in tow, it would have been good to have a map of the space to know where to find which animals and exactly where to enter and exit. Total chaos!

    Always love the Horseshow!

by Jane on 2023-11-14Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The Royal Horseshow was fantastic as always, but I was very surprised at the decline in exhibitors. The quality of the food in the food court had dropped as well. Finally, the ridiculously high charge for parking is certainly a deterrent for out of town people to come. Public transit is not an option if you live any distance from Toronto. That should be a topic of discussion. With horseshow tickets and parking and food it's at least a $500 investment for a family with two children. I expect attendance numbers are down as a result.

An expensive day but worth it.

by Deb on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

I spent quite a bit of time at the fair considering why is so expensive. I paid $72 for horse show tickets, $30 to see the cast of Heartland, $18 for parking, and about $20 for food at the Royal. Competitors pay for entry fees. Sponsors cover prize money and get to run commercials during the horse show. Where does all the money go?

    Too repetitive

by Berna on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Show has become very repetitive. Every year it is the same and it seems less and less glamorous than a year before. Tickets are priced ok, but with all other charges and taxes is too much for the family. Same applies to entrance to the grounds.

    Why

by Yesman on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

Why can’t they make the Royal evening show more interesting, is it lack of money, lack of interest , lack of new ideas …….. I have been to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto for the last 40 years and I have the feeling that I won’t be back, the thrill is gone ! Everything is mediocre or just plainly and painfully really bad. Seeing the Hackney ponies with their absurd high and tight checks being trained with weighted hobbles ??…….. And what was even more said to see was the big and very overweight, blown up by hormones ,Holsteiner bull from Semex in his little cage tied up so short he could hardly lay down. No more than a sperm producer , with no respect for his life ,taken advantage of by greedy owners. No, I won’t be back !

    A fun evening

by MM on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

First time at the horse show! It was interesting seeing different classes of horse/wagon combinations although and explanation of how the judging works would have been helpful. The timed jumping event was terrific, Canadian women placed 3rd, 4th and 5th. Very exciting. The intermission event was too long, but people enjoyed it. A fun evening.

    Yikes, standing room!

by Wolfburn on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

There are standing room only tickets at this venue. Nowhere on the site or the ticket did it say "standing". Thankfully there were empty seats to change to, or this senior would have been in big trouble if the event had been sold out.

couldn’t hear and horse show started late

by Walker on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

The audio sucked and couldn’t hear what the announcers were saying. Also the horse show didn’t start until 10 pm when the tickets said it started at 7.

    First time in years

by Irina on 2023-11-13Coca-Cola Coliseum - Toronto

There used to be so much more! Dogs, mounties, racing carts etc. etc., but I come for the jumping and always enjoy it.
