  • SYTYCD Was Worth It-----Once!

by PatrickW on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It was a very entertaining show and being able to see the whole stage was the biggest thing for me. But where we sat and at this show, the side monitors were CRAP, we could not see their facial expressions. This type of entertainment is best suited for TV.

  • Dancing With Stars was great

by trinashaw on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed the show. Glad they did routines from the tv show. That is what we had enjoyed that made us want to go to the show. Nice that there were some visitors from So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

  • Great Dancing!!

    by morality28 on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

The dancing was unbelievable - it's amazing how talented they all are. However, the show wasn't really what I expected, but I did enjoy it. Some of the introductions the dancers were forced to say were a bit drawn out. I really don't need a recap of what every judge said about every number. Most of the people at the show watched the tv season and already knew what the judges said. I also wish a few new group numbers had been added - just so there was more fresh content. I'm not sure I would go again because if you watch the finale show where they perform the season's best numbers again then you've basically seen most of the live show already.

  • SYTYCD ROCKED MY SOCKS!!!

by Tahnee on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Although the show started a little bit late, it was over all an amazing experience! Sound and lighting we phenomenal, and the dancing was out of this world!

  • SYTYCD was just okay

    by Cassie4 on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

Season 5 was just okay and so was the show. No real stand-out dances like "the door" or "the briefcase" or "the 2 princes" or "the bed". The breast cancer number was very touching.

  • SYTYCD was both hillarious and entertaining!

by slaps on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The dancing, of course, was amazing, but the humour aspect was an enjoyable addition. I laughed so hard when Kupono came out in his little purple shorts and tank to promote the fitness CDs. And the "making fun" of the Russian dance was great too. I liked how at the end they all came on and did a real russian dance with all the difficult jumps and flips, now that would have gotten different reviews on the show! All in all I think it was a great night out and I look forward to seeing next year's tour. I do wish that they did more group routines though, but considering it was 3 hours long, I guess they would have had to cut out some other stuff...

  • Love So You Think You Can Dance

by Logben on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Our whole family went to the show and absolutely loved it. My daughter (7) loves to dance and these types of shows encourage her even more. Bravo.

  • So You Think You Can Dance was incredible!

by Sags on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

It kept my girls on the edge of their seats the entire performance. The guest appearance from the Canadians was an added bonus. The dancers wowed us and they all spoke extremely well. The 3 hour performance was unexpected but truly awesome!

  • STYTCD was insane!!

    by Martini1 on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! Is the first word that comes to mind when I think about the show. The dances are even more incredible when you get to witness them live. The energy in the ACC was crazy and it added to the show. I loved the routines they picked and how they added humour to the show. Jeanine and Phillip's part along with Kapono's commercial, hilarious! Overall the show was amazing. This was my first SYTYCD tour and I knew I couldn't miss this one when I heard that Phillip was apart of it. I was very happy that he had one of the longest solo's, he had tons of people standing by the end of it. I suggust if anyone out there loves to watch dance, then you need to go to this show. My only regret is that I wish I had closer seats.

  • Yes they can dance =)

  • SYTYCD Season 5 in Toronto!!!

    by outrageous211 on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Dancers were amazing! They chose a good selection of dance numbers...I thought the group dances were particularly spectacular. Some of the commentary in between the dances is a little cheesey, but that's not to say that most parts of it actually made me laugh. Awesome show! Highly recommended!

  • SYTYCD was forgettable!

Did the kids write their own scripts?! Brutal! Brutal!! Dancing was enjoyable....what little dancing they did!

  • So you think you can dance Tour 2009

by Drucilla on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I treated my 73 year old Mother to this show, this is one of her favorite shows & mine. The show was wonderful! Loved to see the performances all over again. Phillip & Jeannie were so funny! Thought it was so great the audience gave Phillip a standing O for his performance, he is so talented in his own style. My Mom loved it, she enjoyed every minute. One minor thing we would have really liked, if they should have annouced the names of the Canadian top 10 when they came out, but It was a real treat to see them anyways, we were not expecting that! All in all it was a great show and I know my Mom will never forget it.

  • Great Show

by Moimerlaid on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great, the dancers as expected were fantastic. They had a smaller screen on each side of the stage and a big screen right behind the stage. They showed the dancers on the smaller screen during the dances but not on the big screen. Because we sat further back, you couldn't see their expressions so it would have been so much better if you could view the dancers on the big screen during the dances as well.

  • Canada's better

by dustinthewind on 2009-10-01Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I was really disappointed in this performance/presentation. I'm sure it didn't help that my seat was so lousy, which is weird since I bought it the day before they went on sale to public and this was the best available. Don't think so! It was right at the cut off for seats at the side and all I saw were profiles of most dances, the jumbo screen was not in focus, at least from where I sat and the music was distorted blasting from the speaker. I watched the whole season. I didn't pay to see a re cap of Nigel's top worst picks or the auditions, yada yada yada. I came to see dancing and I thought there were so many amazing routines they didn't choose to perform. Having seen the Cdn Top[ 10 show I can say it was far superior. Having said that, I think the dancers were terrrific, but still not as good as ours.

The show was absolutely amazing once again. My daughter and I have been to the last three SYTYCD shows and have enjoyed them all. Got to see all of our favourite numbers.

  • More like a dance recital

by ohmaggie on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

I felt the first half especially lacked Pizazz and interesting change up of numbers.....to long of "video commentary" by Nigel and too many videos of dances most people had already seen. They didn't do any numbers to liven things up or keep up interest. Second half was better when the did this and alternated music between soft jazz and something with a beat or group number.......Most of the time the commentary from the 2 unstage really didn't mean anything to anyone that hadn't watched the show religioulsly.....This theatre is also set up so that no one even in the front of the 1st level up could see any faces or nuances of the dance.......it needs to be done in a venue that has audience closer to the stage. or a the very least bigger Jumbo trons so you could see the up close expressions....... All in all I was very disappointed.......it need something to change it from a dance recital to a show. full of entertainment.

  • show was good but not great

    by luckystar82 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

If you followed the show all season then most of it was a repeat of the dances. i wanted to more new dances and routines not just the favorites of the seasons.

  • It was great

by Viery on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was great, longer that I expected. It was great for the top 10 Canadian dancers came out

  • SYTYCD SEASON FIVE 2009! :)

    by ishock888 on 2009-09-30Air Canada Centre - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

it was the BEST season so far! the dances were 2034923402384029 times better live. the arena is pretty small so all the seats were good you can see, even from the balcony. Also, the SYTYCDC Top 10 were there watching the show, so i got to meet them and take pictures
