About

Styx have endured for over five decades while staying true to their progressive rock sound and theatrical live show. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1972, Styx have sold over 54 million records worldwide between 17 studio albums, 16 compilations and nine live recordings. Notably, the band released four consecutive RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums between 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone and 1981’s Paradise Theatre, the last of which became their first to top the Billboard 200. Across their career, Styx earned eight Top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the chart-topping “Babe” as well as “Come Sail Away” “Mr. Roboto” and their 1990 comeback single “Show Me the Way.” Despite several hiatuses and lineup changes, Styx have become one of rock’s most consistent touring acts, hosting nearly 100 live shows every year for over two decades and netting career-best earnings on massive co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Def Leppard. In 2021, Styx released their seventeenth studio album, Crash of the Crown.

  • Absolutely the best band!!

by Dawn on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Got some nice merchandise! Wasn't crazy about opening act for sure. But the best was Tommy giving me a fist bump and slipping a pick into my hand!!! These guys I would see as many times as possible!

  • Great!

by Robert on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

They had great energy, good sound, and good as ever.

  • AMAZING!

by Roxy on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

An absolutely fantastic show! Didn't want it to end!! The only thing that would have totally put it over the top would have been if they sang Babe.

  • Still Rockin'

    by M. D. on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Hearing all the old songs live after all this time and they sound like they did back then. Age catches up with us all but some refuse to let it take away their passion.

  • Great Show blew me away

by Great show on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Even without Anne, Nancy Wilson was awesome. Her crew were all sick so she was scrambling a bit on stage. I thought she did a great job managing some adversity. A little too many covers for my taste though…however the cover of Zeppelin’s Rock n Roll was the highlight of the set. Band was crisp and sounded great.. Alone was phenomenal… they had a great singer. Styx was a juggernaut from start to finish…wasn’t a bunch of tired old guys giving what they had left. They all looked like they were having a blast and that they all genuinely liked each other…they seemed like brothers. I totally get why they got Gowan. He’s a master showman has a great voice and has unreal energy. Glad they played Criminal mind. Totally fit in with the set. The only thing I didn’t like was that they didn’t play Babe. Mr Roboto, too much time on my hands we’re awesome. Master musicians that are on top of their game…thanks for sticking around for a half century we fans appreciate it. Thank you Styx

  • Styx and Nancy Wilson's Heart

by The gang! on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 4 out of 5

It was unfortunate that Heart was under the weather. Hopefully they will all recover soon and their show won't be quite such a snoozer. Styx did make up for it kinda. Gowan was a great replacement for Deyoung. But this was the Jube and not the Coliseum that they filled once upon a time. It seemed like a watered down version of days gone by. Still was entertaining. I gotta stop going and seeing these bands in their geriatric years. Lol

  • Awesomeness

by Vavvy on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

It’s always a treat to watch a band who wants to be there and loves what they do. I went for Nancy Wilson (who was spectacular) and I stayed for Styx (despite not really ever being a fan). They were musically perfect and their interaction with the audience was so, so amazing that I would actually see them again. Highly recommend.

  • Styx still rocks...

by Older rocker dude on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Styx was as solid as I've ever seen them (4 times+ as I recall) and Lawrence Gowan was the most engaging, energetic and funny with his quick jokes and one liners as he's ever been... Even going back to his Rhinegold days in TO. He's a honed mature pro for sure.....Tommy and other guys also contribute heavily and are spot-lighted throughout the show. Do think however that they need to move past the nostalgic quirky tribute to the old fellow from their starting out of the 'garage' days in the 70's...likely a better way is backdrop film running while they play a early song or the like. The Nancy Wilson Experience though engaging, genuine and nostalgic at times is a weak prep for the high energy tight Styx Rockshow that follows...

  • AWSOME

by Rhaven on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Was great to hear the old guys rock - just as good as when they were young

  • Freakin’ Awesome

by Wally on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

This is the third time I’ve seen Styx, such a tight professional group. A bit loud for such a small venue but hey, that’s probably my old geriatric ears whining! Please come to Edmonton again! Love you guys!

  • Styx at the Jubilee

by Mia on 2022-10-15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

I went to see Styx and Heart both nights, and they were absolutely phenomenal. Excellent showmanship, excellent sound, excellent performance. I'll be looking to see them again!

  • Great

by wire on 2022-10-14Rating: 5 out of 5

Glad i went , Great Show , Heart , Mistral Wind got the show going for them for me , the sound after that song bang on . Styx , great show from the 1 st song , nice to see them play Styx of Criminal Minds version . Great show thank you .

  • Fantabulous!

by Yaknowme on 2022-10-14Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Styx always puts on an amazing show. It could have been longer! Heart is just not the same without Ann!

  • The show was good, they are great showman.

by Old Rocker on 2022-10-14Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

The songs were good to hear, but the music sound was too loud it drowned out the words of the singers most of the time. It would have been good to have a video screen up so you could see the artists playing up close for those who did not get front row seats.

  • Absolutely Incredible

by George Goulet on 2022-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

What a show!!! Gowen was amazing. If you enjoyed STYX you have to see this show. It is fantastic. I have seen over 100 bands over the years and this performance is a top 10 experience. Remarkable. If you have a chance to see them then do it. At some point there will no longer be an opportunity to see them so do it while you can.

  • Styx and Nancy Wilson

by lifelong fan on 2022-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

overall great concert - Lots of great favourites, great music. It was weird that Nancy Wilson felt obligated to give us a history lesson prior to every song she played - 45 minutes for 8 songs! Still they were all great songs. Styx was great - all the old favourites, very tight musically. Wasn't expecting them to play the DeYoung songs and stick with Tommy Shaw standards. Also weird they only played one song from their current album - was hoping for more. Definitely worth the price of admission.

  • Many Great Memories

by Tara on 2022-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Their concert was a treat. Thought they sounded great!

  • Styx was great! Nancy Wilson ... not so much ...

by rutny on 2022-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Styx was amazing ... especially in a place like this auditorium ... I'm a huge fan, seen them many times ... Nany Wilson ... um, no! ... first off, she is not the singing portion of Heart, so she brought along a singer, Kimberly Nichole. Now Kim can sing! Girl has amazing pipes! ... but now I'm watching an imitation Heart show at a Styx concert ... meh ... to top it off she only does about four Heart songs, then does some covers but plays for an hour. So not really even a Heart imitation show!

  • Styx was amazing

by Calgary Brian on 2022-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

I've seen Heart before, I was disappointed in their performance. The lead singer had the range but was full of herself. Nancy needs to hook up with her sister. Styx was fantastic, Gowan and Tommy Shaw were a solid 12 out of 10. Better than the last time I saw them. I go to see Styx again in a minute, fantastic show

  • Great live rock concert experience!

by Cyndi S on 2022-10-13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

After 50 years of rockin' they still sound great and put on an awesome show. Quite a range of ages and everyone was singing along. My only complaint was that it was not long enough!
