About

Styx have endured for over five decades while staying true to their progressive rock sound and theatrical live show. Since releasing their self-titled debut in 1972, Styx have sold over 54 million records worldwide between 17 studio albums, 16 compilations and nine live recordings. Notably, the band released four consecutive RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums between 1977’s The Grand Illusion, 1978’s Pieces of Eight, 1979’s Cornerstone and 1981’s Paradise Theatre, the last of which became their first to top the Billboard 200. Across their career, Styx earned eight Top 10 singles on the Hot 100, including the chart-topping “Babe” as well as “Come Sail Away” “Mr. Roboto” and their 1990 comeback single “Show Me the Way.” Despite several hiatuses and lineup changes, Styx have become one of rock’s most consistent touring acts, hosting nearly 100 live shows every year for over two decades and netting career-best earnings on massive co-headlining tours with REO Speedwagon, Foreigner and Def Leppard. In 2021, Styx released their seventeenth studio album, Crash of the Crown.

  • Please fix

by Gord on 2022-08-20Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Fantastic concert. Great facility. Ruined by obnoxious drunks trying to scream over music. Left early. Can’t drinking be limited in some way? So the rest of us can enjoy the concert. I know it’s a huge revenue generator but don’t non drinkers have rights to.

  • Great Show

by Stella on 2022-08-20Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The ticket purchase, check in at Budweiser and show start times all on point! Thoroughly enjoyed all 3 performances, especially Styx! Overall a great experience!!

  • Might as well have listened to the CD

by WatchingYourBack on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 2 out of 5

People stood in the walkway in front of the lawns the entire time, I got prime lawn seating by showing up early, and spend the entire show watching people's backs, and watching them try to explain to Security that they were just going to be a moment. I think I had maybe 5 minutes of actually seeing something other than drunk people taking selfies and dancing, or swaying to their favorite song in the walkway. Either make the walkway a free-for-all, or actually enforce the loitering rules. I may as well have been listening to the CD, at least that way I wouldn't have contact high from all the weed smokers.

  • Great energy; great performance

    by Drew_o on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The whole house was rocking to Styx, Loverboy, and REO speed wagon. Styx left everyone on a musical high. Great night.

  • Amazing

by Bug on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved loved every minute of the Budweiser stage concert! They are as good today as they were in the 80’s

  • Rock n roll symphony at its best!

by Reddevil on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The sound quality, harmony of the music and vocals playing in perfect sync, and the energy and engagement of Styx rocked my world, leaving me wanting more. Stand-out performances from Canada's own Lawrence Gown and Tommy Shaw were epic!

  • Styx

by Diane on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great night for a concert outside. Styx never disappoints. Crowd was great.

  • Almost Perfect

by Adam on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Styx gave an excellent show. I didn't give it a perfect score not because of them, but because of the couple two rows ahead of me. The woman kept getting up and dancing throughout all three bands and blocked my view. Even when they were told to sit down, she still got up. I know during a concert people will get up but she didn't seem to care about the ones behind her.

  • Awesome concert

by LoriM on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue. A few hiccups with rude people in our seats but the staff were amazing and the evening was awesome!!!! Lori

  • Walked in expecting little…flew out, cause I was BLOWN AWAY!

by BMc on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

STYX w Gowan are what dreams are made of. These old cats destroyed the stage with a killer presence, voices on point and the stamina that would put a teen to shame. I’ve seen allot of fantastic performances, but these guys…wow. I am hooked. As a child of the 80s, I expected crooners and a bit of a snooze fest. But no, these performers are Rock Stars and this is a performance you would never want to miss.

  • Phenomenal concert and extraordinary venue: five stars!!!

by Maureen - Place Bell Laval Qc 12 Oct on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concert experiences I've ever had; brilliant musicians and music that touches the heart and soul! Thanks Tommy, Gowan and Styx; Kevin and REO and we love you Mike and Loverboy. Keep rocking forever please! We need you!!

  • Live concerts back

by Redhead on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

So great to see live music again. They all rocked out great. If only they included suite madam blue

  • Fun but some issues

by Julio on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Featured band played the shortest time. Also, need better crowd control, many people standing in the walkways, and not enough washroom facilities.

  • I must see

    by YYZ1965 on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The concert line up was spot on. Starting with “Loverboy” then “REO Speedwagon” and closed by “Styx”. All performance’s were like reliving my youth.. The vocals were great and the sound at the Budweiser bowl works. I was a sold out show.

  • Great concert!

by KimD on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing concert! They still sound just as great as they did many years ago! I grew up listening to Styx, REO Speedwagon and Loverboy. It took me back in time and it was a wonderful night!

  • Awesome

by Cyn on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Went with my sons and husband and had great time singing Come Sail Away together

  • A night of Rock and Roll

by Disciple Dave - Toronto on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

All three bands were well put together and from start to finish played good old fashion rock and roll! I was surprised at Loverboy as I had not thought to enjoy them as much as I did. They were wonderful. REO Speedwagon jammed their guitars and the drummer was amazing. As for STYX, I would see them again and again and again. They are nothing but fantastic! Lawrence Gowan still rules the stage and Tommy Shaw can still sing! JY plays the guitar like no other. What a great night of rock!

  • this is not a styx show its the clown gowan show a hated it!

by helsinki on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

true styz fans have had to put up with gowan for far too long now.gowan has now succeded in stealing the show with his clown like outfits and running around the stage like he owns styx!i was disgusted that gowan a mear but talented addition keyboardist with styx is now lead singing most of styx hits. it appears this clown is the new vocalist of styx i wish gowan would play his 1 hit song and for the rest of the concert sit down stay down and shut the fu#@%k up.

  • A Lot of Fun!

by Lynne on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The bands were great. Such a fun throwback on a beautiful evening in Toronto.

  • Styx is still rocking it

by Cookie on 2022-08-19Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Styx came out strong, loud and energetic. Lawrence Gowan is a fantastic & entertaining performer, and his pipes are absolutely, and stunningly, fabulous. That guy was just a supernova, and it was so entertaining and fun to watch. I couldn't tear my eyes away from him and Styx. It was so exciting to see them in tip top form. No one who saw that concert can doubt that Gowan and Styx are still rocking it hard, and are magical together!
