The The Tickets

I didn't see The The back in their heyday, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Matt Johnson sounds fantastic! He was very laid-back and conversational with the audience, and the songs stand the test of time. It was an excellent show! I highly recommend it for The The fans!

Matt's long hiatus from the music industry has not dampened his wit or musical skill. I really appreciated the instrumental reworking involved in dusting off the older songs that gave them a fresh feel. His choice of starting band in Agnes Obel was a brilliant move that suited the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts. Brilliant and long overdue. My love and faith remains.

It was so great to finally see Matt and his band of excellent musicians! I have been a big fan since the mid-80's and got really excited when the tour was announced and knew it was a must see (which it was)!! Back up female singers (Neneh Cherry or Sinead) & a real harmonica (Johnny Marr style), would have only added to a great show!!

Fun time at the The The show. Opening act- Agnes Obel -was a good warm up for the crowd.

One of the best shows I've been to. They play stuff from every era, Matt is an amazing performer and also entertains the crowd between songs. The band playing with him were spectacular. Highly recommend

I first saw The The in '89 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, then again at Reading festival in '93 along with several other UK shows. The show at the Sony centre was like being transported back in time expect it is was also better! Matt Johnsons voice has not changed, it still gives me goosebumps and his lyrics have always seemed prophetic. I really hope he doesn't wait another 20 years to tour again!!!

He sounds the same as 30 years ago. Projected backdrop images were distracting. Good band.
