Todd Rundgren's Utopia meet and greet a dream come

    by jimbo69 on 2018-05-19Massey Hall - Toronto

The whole meet and greet experience was a dream come true for us.The music of Utopia brought us back a few years and stirred quite a few fond memories,Finding out how much work goes into an event like this makes one appreciate the artists and their crew . Todd's wife Michele, was amazing setting everything up with the meeting of her husband and his band, taking pictures relentlessly and making sure everyone got shots that they wanted. The staff at Massey Hall were amazing also as they were all smiling and helpful with directions to everywhere we had to go. I rate this experience very high and a most unforgettable event.

    Love Todd

by nanette on 2018-05-19Massey Hall - Toronto

Todd coming to town is a rare event that we try not to miss. It was nice to see the band together. Todd’s voice was was bang on and band tight. I am a serious Todd fan so when he mellowed out and sang the Wheel - well let’s just say I was mesmerized by his voice and that it what I go for; his deep melancholy heart tugging moody songs. When he finished that song I had to snap out of it because you know I was at a Utopia concert mostly instrumental songs but I love to hear Todd’s guitar sing too. Todd looks good, slimmed down and like I said, voice quality and range was very nice. My recently departed special needs daughter loved to listen to Todd, his beautiful songs brought the nicest smile to her face and we attended this concert With heavy hearts to hopefully hear Love Is The Answer because it truly is. I love all Todd except for some reason always hated Rock Love - something about that song just rubs me the wrong way and of course they played it. Maybe substitute that one for Black Maria. If your a Todd fan then definitely go to the show!

    Utopian Show

    by HB61 on 2018-05-19Massey Hall - Toronto

Rundgren puts on a great show. Sound was clear and musicianship was tight. Crisp drumming along with great synthesizer made for a over great sound. Todd’s voice and guitar playing are amazing.

    Todd is the Man

by DavidV19 on 2014-11-25Talking Stick Resort - Scottsdale

As usual, his virtuosity and wit were very entertaining.....song selection was interesting but it worked. The piano mike was a little muddy but overall the venue was more than decent.

    A 40 Year Journey..

by Qualudia on 2011-07-18Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

Todd has not lost a thing when he sings and plays his thing. Saw him in 1971 in Boulder Colorado while going to CU Boulder and again at your venue. Good to see him live again. Can believe he can still hit the high ones. Beautiful voice and excellant musician. Pure talent that interacted with the audence well. A good time for sure.

    Todd Rungren was awesome

by Tennisguy on 2011-07-04Tralf - Buffalo

I thought the Todd Rundgren concert was one of the best concerts I have ever seen if not the best. To me he played his best music, all my favorites and the performance was fantastic. He is a true artist and played for two hours giving his all. The crowd just loved the music and the place had a really nice vibe with many people dancing. What can I say, he is my favorite artist and the evening exceeded my expectations. Next time he comes to Bufallo I will definitely see him again.

by mudlilly on 2009-07-29Tralf - Buffalo

todd has always been unpredictable as far as his albums are concerned. You will always be in for another musical adventure.nothing stays the same.He doesn,t fall into a groove and repeat it album after album.no he keeps changing, that is what makes him so unique.Arena comes full circle taking us back to guitar rock.Great show Todd .

Things do get better with age

by DavetheT on 2009-07-21Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

Todd is as fresh at 60, as he was at 20. Being in my 50's, I see all the groups coming back playing their hits. It really is a sad state of todays' music, or that the music in the 60's was that good. Many big name bands rely on their past hits and their concerts are the same as they were 40 years ago. Resting on their laurels. Basically their creative juices are dead and are playing for the money and glamour. Although their is nothing wrong with this, I quess. I find Todd looks restless, he is still loves to create. It just shows that age is no boundary to something you love to do. A true prodigy in every sense.

    todd the Podd

by piledriver on 2009-07-17Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

This guy should be in the rock hall of fame in about 3 diferent categories. I would put Todd's top 15 pop songs against anything M. Jackson ever did and guess who would come out ahead but who gets most of the publicity and acclaim.

    Todd was rockin'

by Steelers on 2009-07-16Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

A great set, showcasing Todd's latest release "Arena". High energy, electric set list from start to finish...throw in some cool "chat" with the audience and you have great show from Todd

    Todd was Goddawlful!

by Topherkey on 2009-07-16Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Todd, but the sound at this show was so loud I could not make out any words, harmonies, melodies... you know, the things we generally associate with music. We're talking LOUD here. Now there's good loud, where you can hear everything. Then there's bad loud where it's all just noise. This was definitely the latter. Too bad, because this is a guy who can perform and sing incredibly, and he has the musicians to back him up. But there's something wrong here. This is the third Todd show in a row I've seen in the last three years where the sound has been substandard. One must conclude then that it's not the venue's fault. It's the artist (or his management). If the goal is to drive away faithful fans, and completely block out any new ones, I'd say conducting shows in this fashion is a good way to do that. Such a damn waste of talent.

    Rundgren Rocks!

by PhredHagan on 2009-07-16Mod Club Theatre - Toronto

An awsome concert at great little venue. Todd played a few classic Rock N Roll songs from the back list and completed the deal with pretty well every song song from the new album "ARENA" . Great to see an artist with such a large colection of songs to play from stick to his guns and a play NEW music. Just One Victory was a great song to close, it's been a while since he closed with that number. CHEERS to Todd and the entire band, it was great to see them here in Toronto.... PLEASE COME BACK AND PLAY A BIGGER VENUE.
