    Amazing

by themarina on 2011-12-15Orpheum Theatre - Vancouver

Amos has always been a great, even if at times uneven, talent but her recordings don't hold a light to her live performance which is superb. She's mesmerizing. I would see her again in a heartbeat.

This was an amazing concert. The combination of Tori's touching and sensual voice coupled with the string quartate penetrated straight to our souls.

Probably the best concert I have been too. Tori actually gave a free meet and greet to her fans waiting outside (let us come in and take pictures with her). Then she delievered the best setlist we have seen since her early days. And her voice was flawless

    Tori Amos did a number

by Metallimeister on 2011-12-10Massey Hall - Toronto

Tori was on fire and played a bunch of songs I did not expect. The string quartet provided an interesting flavour on a lot of her classics. This was the best show I've ever been to and I did not need earplugs. The sound was mixed just to the right level of loudness (not too loud) and clarity.

    Another great Tori show

by micld on 2009-08-17Massey Hall - Toronto

We enjoyed the opening act although I didn't find out what the band name was. Tori and the band were great as usual. This was my third time seeing her, and she once again blew me away with her strong vocal and musicianship.

Tori Amos was amazing but the show....

by Silentalltheseyears on 2009-08-12Massey Hall - Toronto

I am a huge fan of Tori Amos and I try to see her shows whenever she is in Toronto. The event was slated to start at 8pm, no where it was stated that there will be a group performing before Tori Amos. The group was ok, couldnt understand any of the lyrics because the singer mumbled so much but the beats were good. They were done at 8:30 and Tori came to stage around 9:10. She was awesome from the start, loved her song choices, wish she did the lounge thing where she sings other people's songs, her own version. She didnt talk much between the songs and the show relied mostly on her awesome voice and piano skills. Which is what I expected anyways but then the light shows during the songs....ugh...it was horrible, it was right in peoples eyes, it looked cheap, it didnt work for me. Give me her voice, her piano and a glass of wine I am good, dont need fancy light shows, Love you Tori come back soon

    Tori Amos shook Toronto

by BMLEE on 2009-08-11Massey Hall - Toronto

I first saw Tori Amos in 2007 both in the UK and in Toronto for the American Dolle Posse tour, and both events seemed to have an air of sadness... a sort of bittersweet feel. However, last night's "Sinful Attraction" tour performance in Toronto, was upbeat and fast paced and she used the vocal talents that make the hair on your body stand on end. I was a little upset going into the concert as I had missed the meet and greet by literally ten minutes, but all that evapourated when she walked out and began to play, flicking her head side to side as she stradled the chair and played her Yamaha and Bosendorfer simultaneously. It was true Tori Amos like I had only seen on dvd performances such as "Welcome to Sunny Florida". The only down side to the performance was that it seemed slightly rushed as if were a lot shorter than it should have been. There was no talking to the audience by way of imporvisation which loyal fans have come to know and love. We did however sing happy birthday to John Evans (the bass player), but that was it. And the last bit of dissappointment came with a only one track for the encore, as opposed to three as she has always done. I had also heard that the meet and greet had only be about half an hour. All in all the performance cannot be flawed. But on the flip side, there was a lack of connection with the audience and everything seemed rushed, as if she just wanted to get the whole experience over with.

    Tori was ELECTRIC!!! Simply Amazing!

by sidewinder on 2009-08-11Massey Hall - Toronto

I have been fortunate enough to see Tori perform six times over the past fifteen years and she never fails to connect with her audience and produce a truly genuine, electrified and simply amazing performance. From her vibrant, emotionally charged voice & lyrics to her flowing red hair & eccentric outfits, she never fails to enthrall and captivate.
