A Flock of Seagulls on Tour
Get ready to ride the wave. A Flock of Seagulls are on tour and bringing their new wave hits to the stage with all the energy their fans and audiences remember. The band's peak success was found in the early 1980s and they are returning on tour to reunite with the generation that made them famous. The 2022 and 2023 tour will span the United States, making 10 stops along the way. Fans of the band will be thrilled to hear hits from their youth such as "I Ran (So Far Away,)" "Space Age Love Song," "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You" and "The More You Live, the More You Love." The tour promises to deliver nostalgia and new memories to all who attend.
A Flock of Seagulls Live in Concert
A Flock of Seagulls formed in 1979 in Liverpool. Lead vocalist and keyboardist Mike Score is also the founder of the band. Other current members include Kevin Rankin on drums, Gord Deppe on guitar and Pando on bass. The group's debut single "(It's Not Me) Talking," set them on the path to success. The band was signed to major label Jive in 1982 and distributed through CBS records, where they released their second single "Telecommunication." This Grammy-winning synthpop group grew to infamy with their offbeat haircuts and unconventional and eclectic music style, an unforgettable combination that has fans still reeling for more. The band attributes a large amount of their early success with the support and playtime they received from MTV. In 2018, the band's original members released a new album titled Ascension, their first studio recording since 1984. The 12-track album featured the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Following the success of this album, the band released another highly anticipated album -- String Theory, which again featured the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra -- in 2021. The band continues to proudly demonstrate their uniqueness and off-the-cuff style. A Flock of Seagulls is bringing the nostalgia back with their 2022 and 2023 tour across the United States.
All three bands played great! Looking forward to see them again!
The sound was terrible! loud and unrecognizable. Flock of Seagulls? only the lead singer was there. Weird too see the Spoons front man playing guitar with them. Best thing was tickets were cheap!
The Spoons were fantastic! They were my favourites of the three acts. They sounded great and played a lot of favourites. Men without Hats were pretty good too. Ivan is very energetic! I enjoyed Flock of Seagulls the least because the sound was off. It was very muddy, with lots of noise. It was annoying and made it hard to pick out the tunes and hear the singing. And there just wasn't the energy in the performance compared to the other acts (except Gord Deppe on the guitar). It was great to have an 80 concert!
Great evening thanks for letting me feel and act 20 again!! Great show awesome bands simply amazing!!
Spoons was a surprise how on how good is was! Men without hats stole the show! Flock of seagulls was high powered 80's music!
The Spoons were great and a true blast from the past. Men Without Hats was outstanding- 5 stars, fun, engaging and an amazing act to see in person. Loved them!❤️ However, A Flock of Seagulls was awful! How do you call yourself a Flock when it’s 1 guy? He was loud and it sounded so bad that I had to plug my ears. My husband was convinced that the singer had turned down the guitarist’s (lead singer from The Spoons) volume so that he was the only one that could be heard. People were giving him the finger and many left before he even played “I Ran”. When he finally did, there was a mass exodus to the door, in case he decided to play another song. As a Canadian, I hate to say this but I know understand how he got the name for his band- he was loud, obnoxious and full of crap, just like a Flock of Seagulls.
not sure what happened but only lead singer was on stage, even stranger lead singer from spoons was on stage with him.no information from venue or band on why the rest of the band never showed up.NOT HAPPY
Spoons and men without hats were great!! I would been happy with just them . Flock of seaguls was one seagul and was aweful .
Every once in awhile you hit a show where the back-up bands outperform the headliner. That was the case at this concert. Spoons were professional and tight and got the crowd warmed up. Men Without Hats was amazing. The energy of the band, especially lead singer Ivan Doroschuk, had the entire audience up on their feet, dancing and singing! Flock of Seagulls which should have read Flock of Seagull was disappointing. The only Seagull on stage was lead singer Mike Score, accompanied by the lead guitar/singer of the Spoons, Gordon Deppe. The synth was way too loud driving 1/3 of the cottonheads out of the venue. With only Synth, Vocal and Guitar the sound was less than full. It was akin to seeing a busker on the street. The only redemption came at the end of the 7 song set when Score played the Seagulls hit song "I Ran."
I respect that a legendary band still has someone willing to keep their memory alive and hats off. Some of the tracks overwhelmed the songs at times and the distortion was certainly unwelcome.
It was a was fun nostalgic night out, however the music circled the drain as the show went on. Surprisingly, Spoons took the show with good energy and sounds. MWH did their typical set but the sounds guys couldn’t deal with the feedback and high-end balancing; band energy and positive vibes good as always. When FOS came out it was like “what the hell is this”. Maybe my expectations were too high. It was just Mike with all canned beats, Gordon from Spoons trying to help on guitar. Some of the tunes were so weird and dark. People started leaving right away.
The Spoons opened will and lively. I don't know most of their material, but they put on a good show. Men Without Hats came on strong, stayed strong, and ended very strong. Ivan moved and danced like it was still the 80's. Definitely the highlight of the evening. Flock of Seagulls was difficult to watch. It seemed Mike was trying new materials, which wasn't going anywhere with the crowd. Half the audience simply walked out. He finally, and reluctantly, played "I Ran", which was what people actually wanted to hear.
Didn’t even have a drummer and guys on stage literally just went through the motions with no entertainment value at all. Many people walking out during performance and interruptions on stage that made it feel like a sound check (warm up)??? Really bad!!
Well, if the promotions guy only knew the "library" of each artist... Spoons stole the show. Fantastic set. Bang on musically and vocally. Very impressive 5 Stars Man without Hats, okay 3 Stars Flock of Seagulls, 2 songs..... and by the time they were played, half the audience had left 1 Star
The sound for Flock of Seagulls was awful. You physical felt the base beat in your heart.
We loved the Spoons and Men Without Hats. Flock of Seagulls had no band and did not engage audience. Otherwise a great night with lots of memories!
Caught the Spoons, Men Without Hats and Flock (?) of Seagulls at the River Cree Casino. Spoons were a very pleasant surprise and Men Without Hats were fun to watch. Flock of Seagulls pretty much sucked any energy developed by the first 2 bands. Sound was absolutely horrible and Flock of Seagulls consisted of Mike Score and Gord from the Spoons. Many people left early into the Flocks set. Don't bands do a sound check before their shows? Felt ripped off.
I don't like to complain to much but, The lead up presentation "80's theme" could have been presented better from start to finnish. Casino Rama needs to organize and present all shows a lot better then they they have been. The bands were good but introductions were not organized at all. Intermissions between bands was just people racing to get more alcohol. People that did get up and dance in the aisles were told to sit down for safety reasons. I grew up in the 80's and liked to dance more so then today's generation. I realized that I remember all 3 band from their hit singles like most of the 80's bands, no fault of the band, that's just the way it was back then. Like I said it was just ok. And I LOVE the 80's music:)
Concert was excellent. All 3 bands were really good. We sat in our preferred spot near the soundboard. We really like the venue and the easy parking access. Here are the problems: A-It would have been nice to know "approximately" when the concert ended. It was the longest one of the 8 we have been to in the last 4 years. We missed our shuttle. B-The lineups for drinks inside the venue are ridiculously Long and Slow. I missed most of Men without Hats just standing in line.
We thought this band was extremely tight and still very good. A lot of the songs did sound similar, but nonetheless amazing. The drummer was fantastic too. He looked like he could do it in his sleep, and loved the spinning of the drumsticks (amazing)! We loved it, however couldn't get to see "I Ran", had to catch the bus. Loved it!
