A Flock of Seagulls on Tour

Get ready to ride the wave. A Flock of Seagulls are on tour and bringing their new wave hits to the stage with all the energy their fans and audiences remember. The band's peak success was found in the early 1980s and they are returning on tour to reunite with the generation that made them famous. The 2022 and 2023 tour will span the United States, making 10 stops along the way. Fans of the band will be thrilled to hear hits from their youth such as  "I Ran (So Far Away,)"  "Space Age Love Song," "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You" and "The More You Live, the More You Love." The tour promises to deliver nostalgia and new memories to all who attend.

A Flock of Seagulls Live in Concert

A Flock of Seagulls formed in 1979 in Liverpool. Lead vocalist and keyboardist Mike Score is also the founder of the band. Other current members include Kevin Rankin on drums, Gord Deppe on guitar and Pando on bass. The group's debut single "(It's Not Me) Talking," set them on the path to success. The band was signed to major label Jive in 1982 and distributed through CBS records, where they released their second single "Telecommunication." This Grammy-winning synthpop group grew to infamy with their offbeat haircuts and unconventional and eclectic music style, an unforgettable combination that has fans still reeling for more. The band attributes a large amount of their early success with the support and playtime they received from MTV.  In 2018, the band's original members released a new album titled Ascension, their first studio recording since 1984. The 12-track album featured the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.  Following the success of this album, the band released another highly anticipated album -- String Theory, which again featured the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra -- in 2021. The band continues to proudly demonstrate their uniqueness and off-the-cuff style. A Flock of Seagulls is bringing the nostalgia back with their 2022 and 2023 tour across the United States.

  • The Spoons and Men without Hats was great.

The sound for Flock of Seagulls was awful. You physical felt the base beat in your heart.

We loved the Spoons and Men Without Hats. Flock of Seagulls had no band and did not engage audience. Otherwise a great night with lots of memories!

  • I ran so far away

by Rocketwally on 2020-02-29Rating: 1 out of 5

Caught the Spoons, Men Without Hats and Flock (?) of Seagulls at the River Cree Casino. Spoons were a very pleasant surprise and Men Without Hats were fun to watch. Flock of Seagulls pretty much sucked any energy developed by the first 2 bands. Sound was absolutely horrible and Flock of Seagulls consisted of Mike Score and Gord from the Spoons. Many people left early into the Flocks set. Don't bands do a sound check before their shows? Felt ripped off.

  • Just OK

by Smitty on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

I don't like to complain to much but, The lead up presentation "80's theme" could have been presented better from start to finnish. Casino Rama needs to organize and present all shows a lot better then they they have been. The bands were good but introductions were not organized at all. Intermissions between bands was just people racing to get more alcohol. People that did get up and dance in the aisles were told to sit down for safety reasons. I grew up in the 80's and liked to dance more so then today's generation. I realized that I remember all 3 band from their hit singles like most of the 80's bands, no fault of the band, that's just the way it was back then. Like I said it was just ok. And I LOVE the 80's music:)

  • Flock of Seagulls, Men without Hats, The Spoons

by Slaw on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was excellent. All 3 bands were really good. We sat in our preferred spot near the soundboard. We really like the venue and the easy parking access. Here are the problems: A-It would have been nice to know "approximately" when the concert ended. It was the longest one of the 8 we have been to in the last 4 years. We missed our shuttle. B-The lineups for drinks inside the venue are ridiculously Long and Slow. I missed most of Men without Hats just standing in line.

  • Flock of Seagulls at Casino Rama

by Jlili on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

We thought this band was extremely tight and still very good. A lot of the songs did sound similar, but nonetheless amazing. The drummer was fantastic too. He looked like he could do it in his sleep, and loved the spinning of the drumsticks (amazing)! We loved it, however couldn't get to see "I Ran", had to catch the bus. Loved it!

  • Review of Spoons, Men w/o hats and Flock of Seagulls

by Barriekayaker on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

Spoons were great wished they had closed the show instead of being opening act. Would have much preferred to have flock of seagulls open. First time back to the venue since they have puts bars in the theatre. Not impressed with that move at all, constant disruptions from people getting up and down to get drinks. Made the overall experience less than great.

  • Flock was a flop

by Debb on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

Spoons and Men without Hats were awesome. Very disappointed with Flock of Seagulls. No energy and sound was terrible.

  • Great time, great staff at great venue, short drive away.

by area resident on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

Spoons: Last saw them up close beside the stage at "The Key in Bala" many years ago. Still sounding great! Minor take away is that the current keyboard player is challenged to duplicate the original sound, though he is very talented doing good job at recreating most of it. Tough position to fill in for. I thought that the base sound was a little too dominant at times. Attended concert with my newspaper friend from Burlington, ON (he lives across the street from Aldershot High School, former school of band members). In 2015, he interviewed them at a reunion event. Men Without Hats: Very surprising how good they still are. Even their "new" song is good. It was obvious how dedicated the lead singer is to staying "fit" enough in order to supply much energy on stage. Excellent job by keyboard player and rest of group. A Flock of Seagulls: A mixed review from me. If I had looked at earlier concert footage from the past couple of years, I would have understood my disappointment: that the vocals seem different than the original vocals. Seems to a combination of the lead's vocal abilities? and the fact that all of the other vocals are replacement members. So, the overall "lower?" sound of the vocals, especially on their biggest hit, is understandable. Big fan of their cataloge of songs, probably underrated in the past. A complete surprise on Spoons' lead vocalist appearance in the group (my fault in not keeping up to date).

  • Flashback Friday Night!

by Jimmyjames on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

Everything was great this night. Only complaint from me would have to be for the sound for The Seagulls. It could have been much better. Some people were leaving during the SEAGULLS set. Mind you besides the sound not being good they didnt come on until 10;:45pm. Othe than that, the show was great. 70% of the crowd was up dancing throughout the night. Each setlist from each band was perfect.

  • Spoons excellent A dissapointment with Flock of Seagulls

by Lynn on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

While the Spoons and Men without Hats were excellent, uplifting and a joy to see Flock of Seagulls were a big disappointment. They played 90% of their melancholy unpopular songs people didn't recognize (they weren't from a new album) and played only 2 of their popular songs! Many people walked out. I don't understand groups not playing their most popular songs to fans when touring it just doesn't make sense why they make this mistake.

  • Time I won’t get back!

by Pauly on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 1 out of 5

The Spoons and Men without Hats were fabulous!! Great energy and really fun! When the Flock took the stage you could feel all of the energy getting sucked out of the auditorium. Almost left the building at that point. Too bad because up until that point the evening was a lot of fun.

  • Flock at Rama

by CJD on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 2 out of 5

Well ...... The Spoons were fantastic and should have been the headliner. Sometime you go to these shows and think “that’s their song?!!!” I didn’t know they sang that. Well not this show. Men without hats and Flock of seagulls were disappointing. Had to leave before I RAN was even played.

  • Expected more

by Ltmbys on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

Right of the bat, the Spoons were great but I was hoping for more tunes. Men without Hats were great as well and again I was hoping for more. Flock of Seagulls however disappointed me with the song selections for most of the performance except for the last few...clearly there was something going on with Mike's voice, didn't seem clear and in tune. Great job Gord on guitar. Many people left during the last act, never seen this happen before.

  • Spoons should've headlined....

by Tracey on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 3 out of 5

Spoons came out flying, with a high energy and great sounding performance. Men Without Hats continued the energy and fun to sing along with for sure! Very disappointed with Flock of Seagulls, perhaps I wasn't as big of a fan as I thought. Had to wait until the very end for the 2 most popular songs, and with 3 bands, that was 3 hours after start. Gordon Deppe playing with them was the highlight in my eyes, great job by him playing with both bands!

  • Loved the Spoons

by Linda on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 2 out of 5

I think you should have made the Spoons the main act. They were awesome. Men without hats were also great but i fount the Flock of Seaguls were unprepared, and unorganized. the only reason i stayed to watch them was because of Gordon Deppe. And i still left early because i felt like it dragged on. Maybe they should have opened and kept the good stuff for at the end.

  • Don’t Waste your Money Here

    by S. S. on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 1 out of 5

The openers - Spoons & Men without hats were awesome. We were up singing & dancing! These guys needed to be on after Flock as they were by far the better groups. Flock of Seagulls were boring - I just wanted to leave. Really don’t have the same vocals but their incessant keyboarding was cringe worthy.

  • 2 out of 3 ain’t bad

by AH on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 4 out of 5

The Spoons & Men Without Hats were awesome. Both bands were entertaining & spot on. Flock of Seagulls was rather disappointing. The drummer had fun and was entertaining to watch. Gord Deppe was good. Frankly, it’s time for Mike to retire. 😬

  • Disappointed

by Stubby on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 2 out of 5

The Flock of Seagulls should have been the opening act. The music was ok but the vocals were horrible. They have very little material to be deemed a headliner. The Spoons were top notch. Men without Hats is a one hit wonder.

  • The 80"s Club

by Maggie R on 2019-11-04Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 5 out of 5

Spoons, Men Without Hats and A Flocks of Seagulls put on a great show. Great sounds and lighting at Casino Rama. I have seen each of these bands 2 or more times and they still put on a great show!! A Flock of Seagulls was bit less energetic this show -- but hey we're all getting older. :)
