About

After an eight-year absence, Alabama Shakes are poised to make their return announcing a 2025 Tour across the U.S. The Athens, AL-raised band, comprised of vocalist/guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell exploded onto the scene in 2012 with their debut album Boys & Girls, (ATO Records), which entered Billboard's Independent Albums chart at No. 1. Boys & Girls earned the band multiple GRAMMY nominations and was hailed as one of the year's best albums by numerous publications, including Rolling Stone, which also named lead single "Hold On" the #1 Best Song of 2012. Soon after its release, the bandmates found themselves thrust into the global spotlight, achieving such milestones as performing at the White House and on "Saturday Night Live."

The band's legacy continued to grow with the groundbreaking Sound & Color (ATO Records). Released 10 years ago, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, won GRAMMY Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The first single, "Don't Wanna Fight," took honors in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories. Sound & Color marked a profound evolution from Alabama Shakes' debut album, as The New York Times Magazine observed, heralding the band's "soul-stirring, shape-shifting new sound." Both Sound & Color and Boys & Girls were certified Platinum by the RIAA.

The Shakes' Cockrell, Fogg, & Howard have also reunited in the studio promising new music to fans who have been eagerly awaiting their return.

I go to Bud stage a lot and the sound wasn't great this time. Alabama Shakes imo wasn't feeling it either. It was only until their encore they seemed to let it rip. Maybe because they were happy to be done? lol ..idk. Still a great band and venue just not the other night. Can't win 'em all. Peace!

  • Alabama Shakes - Stellar show!

by GR on 2025-09-10Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw them on Saturday Night Live many years ago. They did ‘Always Alright’ and ‘Gimme All Your Love’ and I was an instant fan - just blown away by Brittany’s voice & guitar and of course Heath (rhythm guitar), Zac (bass - which was f’n thump’n - reverb’n in my chest - for a few songs during Sept 6, 2025 show) Steve (drums), Ben Tanner (keys) and I read - 2nd keyboards Paul Horton is Brittany’s cousin. Wow still reeling from the energy of the Toronto (Canada) show. I was 5 rows back from centre stage. Toronto fans loved Alabama Shakes noted by all the cheers, clapping and kudos! The show is the whole band and the backup singers! Each member does their part and it is magical! Alabama Shakes are so diverse - even within any given song - the tempo can change and it sounds awesome! I truly appreciated my experience of seeing them live and so up close and personal.

  • Exceeded expectations

Bahamas and Alabama Shakes were the perfect match for a show. Brittany’s voice sounds even better than her albums. Affie’s banter with the crowd and his silky voice were a treat!

  • Was it my ears or the sound tech?

by An Older Music Lover on 2025-09-09Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 3 out of 5

Opening act was a pleasant surprise, in fact we enjoyed it better than the main act. Not because we didn't like Alabama Shakes but it was the sound. The Bass was deafening, so over powering, that it was difficult to hear Brittany's voice. It was not the talent but the technical which dampened our experience, so much so we left early!

  • Absolutely Blown Away!

This was one of the best concerts I have been too. And I have seen a lot. I loved the performance that Alabama Shakes puts on, the whole vibe with the sets was beautiful- I was on my feet the whole night dancing. Was memorized by the singing and guitar playing. It was all so amazing!

  • Bahamas and Alabama Shakes, best combo

by NanM on 2025-09-09Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

Great opener for show Bahamas First time seeing them, won't be my last. So good to see Alabama Shakes. I have seen Brittany Howard twice, she is stellar...but add the Gents with her and she is so much more. What an impressive, tight group. A note on the venue. Budwiser stage are now charging more for people to have access to what was the Amex lounge, now Lakehouse. Opening gate at 6pm, but blocking access to seats and funneling people around the outer paths does not help people with mobility issues. But the music was 5 stars.

  • Alabama Shakes Exceeded my Expectations

A fantastic performance! The band was tight and Brittany Howard’s vocals were fantastic! They had the crowd up and on our feet for the entire show.

  • Alabama Shakes Amazes in Toronto 2025

by JanS on 2025-09-09Budweiser Stage - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Shout out to The Bahamas! Great opener. So talented and set the tone for the night. Alabama Shakes was tight and held the audience captive. Brittany has a voice both bold and soft! She knows how to handle a guitar and leaves everything on the stage. Definitely a 12 out of 10 night!! Love love love

I left this show feeling honored to have witnessed such a display of raw talent. It was a great crowd and Alabama Shakes seemed genuinely happy to be playing up in Canada. As long as they don't play in a festival I will see them over and over and over again. They are worth all your ticket money and then some!! They are the kind of band that sounds just as good if not better live.
