Great from beginning to end of show including the pre show groups
great music, humour, relevent stories.....these guys should host the Music Awards! I will be going to see them again.
Excellent show!! Would definitely go see them again!
This is my first concert to see BNL after Steven Page left the band and I didn't really miss him. The rest do the group put on as teller performance with a nice mix of old and new from their latest album. I enjoy the watching them improve on what ever comes to mind. From the mad/suicidal rams of the national park to letting the crowd in the front row know itis okay to dance and just ignore the security guard.
They put on a great show with a variety of songs and were able to make me smile and laugh, something that I needed :)
After 25 years and some well publicized band member changes, the Ladies have still got it.. The lights dimmed and the crowd went wild as the four took the stage. While they opened up the show with a song from the latest album, they were still well aware of what the crowd were there to hear. After a fantastic run of classic hits, lead vocalist Ed Robertson cheekily teased us before getting into another new song - "We've been hearing you screaming for new songs. We know that people who come to our shows are sick of the old stuff". They mixed it up quite well with old and new for the remainder of the show. For veteran fans, everything was there. The high energy rock show, the fun banter and antic of the guys on stage, a sweet cover song medley, poop stories, and of course their iconic "line dance" diddy, for lack of a better description. The obvious question which I heard from friends time and again leading up to the show - "Will it be the same without Steven Page?" The answer is a resounding "no", but I'm also not saying that's a bad thing. Robertson is surely a fantastic vocalist, but Page's commanding vocals are certainly missed. That said, having seen the band with both lineups, I thoroughly enjoyed the new dynamic. Rather than being primarily the "Steve and Ed" show, the departure of Page has allowed drummer Tyler Stewart, bassist Jim Creeggan, and keyboardist/guitarist Kevin Hearn to shine a bit more. Regardless of what one might think of the Barenaked Ladies latest albums, or the loss of a core band member, the guys still know how to have a blast on stage, and truly show how much fun they're still having together.
The BNL band put on a great show. I would have preferred just to watch them without the back up bands. The back up bands were not the calibre of performers I would have liked to see.
I just loved the mix of music, awesome talent from them all, and the great stories and jokes throughout the show. The way the guys relate to each other, and the way they play off each other just makes you want to be part of it. I really enjoyed the show, as much as I have any live band and more than any live band I have seen from a seat in a theatre. I can't imagine how much fun it would have been to see them in the old days when we had open floor shows.
This is my fifth Barenaked Ladies show, and they continue to impress. Always a great time with Barenaked Ladies! Always something new and unexpected. Always a stellar display of musicianship, once again proving that, even 25 years since they formed, they are still some of the most talented players in the game. A great show for those young and old, with something for everyone to enjoy.
This is a band that loves to do what they do, play and have fun! They gave a 150% performance. I raved all day to my coworkers on how awesome they performed. I would see these guys again and again. Glad to be apart of their 25 years. Best concert I've been to in awhile and I've been to a few this year.
Great show! I was pleasantly surprised!! Would see them again next time they're in town.
Really enjoyed teh comedy part of the gig, haven't laughed that hard in a long time, not since I last attended improv at Theatresports! The QE is a great venue, with all great seats, no matter where you sit!
the show was amazing ...venue was perfect cant wait to go back again
My husband and I, huge BNL fans, and my two girlfriends, not such big fans, went to the concert. We all left very happy. My friends remembered some old stuff and enjoyed the new stuff and were blown away by the talent of the band members - ALL of the band members. My husband really missed Steven Page's voice on two songs... Ed was excellent as always but when it came to lovers in a dangerous time my husband was so excited he got goosebumps and then he really missed Steven's voice on that one. Having said that, the concert was excellent, the band was funny, singing bang on... the montages at the end were funny, awesome, current... really great and they personalized it to Vancouver... they even gave a shout out to Port Coquitlam (not just Coquitlam haha) it was really a great time.
Great concert. Can count on them for a great evening, lots of energy and fun. Always love the ad-libbing but they outdid themselves with the covers of new pop. Unexpected. Also enjoyed the songs from the new album.
The Bare Naked Ladies were amusing and delightful to watch. All of the band members contribute and make for a great evening. The pre-shows were mediocre at best. The first one was a joke, and I was very surprised that the band would chose her for a pick. I was waiting for her to start stripping. She actually had a lovely voice, but her outfit and actions were so silly, one just assumed she was lip sinking.
BNL never fails to impress and entertain me. They did the perfect mix of old and new, and really looked like they were having fun with it.
I have seen BNL 4 times live and each time I swear they get better. I loved the intimate venue, the fun antics, the improvisation and best their quality music. They played some new stuff from Grinning Steak which is a great album, but the show wasn't dominated by it so it will work for old and new fans. We all miss Steven Page, but they pull it off to the point where you almost don't notice he isn't there.
Great entertainers! Good mix of new and old favorites. The band was very entertaining, kept the crowd involved in the show. They were very funny too!
