  • Barenaked Ladies are Amazing

by FanfromOville on 2010-11-28Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

This was the second time for me to see Barenaked Ladies at Massey Hall, and it is the best venue to see a band. It shows you that you don't need all the crazy things that other bands have to have a good concert. You are able to enjoy the talent of the band and not all the bells and whistles.

  • BNL Rocks !!!

by Walleye on 2010-11-28Massey Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing, honestly, it was better than I expected !! They have so much fun on stage, it's more than a concert, it's a show too !!! Have always loved listening to BNL but now I have a respect for them, they are very talented, switching up instruments throughout the show was awesome !!!!

  • BNL - great as ever

by tyfam on 2010-08-11DTE Energy Music Theatre - ClarkstonRating: 5 out of 5

I was curious to see how the band would be without Steve.... and they exceeded my expectations. It was great to see the other band members who stepped up with their talents & everyone had a great time. They are truly entertaining.

  • Barenaked Ladies were superb!

by Sometimer on 2010-07-22Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Having been a fan for over almost 20 years I can say that this was one of my favourite converts. The new album is great. They showed the talent of all the band members when they had each one do a song with the band backing them up. It was a nice change and one I hope they continue to do. I had to keep reminding myself that they were missing someone. That means that it was not apparent during 99% of the show. I can't wait to see them in concert again.... Maybe I will have to wait until the cruise.

It was a great concert. Even without Steven Paige they showed us all a really good time. Can't wait to check them out again

New material has a couple great songs but it's mostly trying too hard. Should abandon the idea of 2 lead singers instead of forcing someone else to sing to replace Stephen.

  • Barenaked Ladies was great entertainment

by momaDeeb on 2010-05-22Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

They were personable with the audience and told some great little stories- the music was fantastic, they really gave an all out performance-the crowd was all standing and singing along with the band- great night

  • Barenaked Ladies still have it :D

by Ultra on 2010-05-04Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

Drove from Toronto to Hamilton to see these guys. Been seeing all their Toronto shows since 2004, but for some reason they didn't play in their hometown this time...but I'm happy I made the trip. Even though Page is no longer with them, they still do not fail to entertain. Sure, some of the magic is lost - Jim and Kev don't have quite Steve's vocals - but Ed made sure that their new songs are fun and memorable. The energy really went up in the theatre once he started singing "One Week". Two girls actually crashed the stage and were dancing around, until security took them off. As usual, Ed had a witty comeback, something like "Wait till they tackle me and make out with me a bit before taking them off!" Lol, that's why I love these guys. If they're playing in your hometown, you're doing yourself a disservice NOT to see these guys. Wish Steve was still with them but I see a long future for the "new" BNL with many more hits to come.

  • Entertaining - as always!

by Noneedfornames on 2010-05-02Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I felt a little something missing (Steven Page) at the very beginning, however, after a song or two the night just got better and better. Kevin, Jim and Tyler really stepped up to cover the harmony vocals and sung a few songs of their own. The sound at Hamilton Place was amazing, and although it took two audience members and some prompting from Ed, the crowd eventually rose to their feet for the last five or six songs. Awesome show, I can't wait to see them again.

  • Barenaked Ladies

by Anonymous on 2010-05-01Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

The show itself was great. I enjoyed the band very much! i was not impressed how I saw two young girls who were sitting infront of us in our balcony seats which we purchased a month ahead of time suddenly leave at intermission, only to be seen sitting like 2 rows away from the stage. Not only did they sit in seats which they didn't pay for they proceeded to jump up on the stage. They were full of booze which you could smell quite clearly. Also while enjoying our show there was a group of "jackasses" for lack of a better word who were yelling out things and continually clapping loudly during every song. I am all for a good time, but when you interfere with other people's enjoyment it's just rude! A security gaurd came up and spoke to these people at some point but after about 10 minutes of peace they continued again. It was so bad that the singer Ed Robertson addressed the fact that they were yelling out requests for songs. Too bad that a few numbskulls can be so rude. I hope that the band doesn't think all of us Hamiltonians are idiots!!

  • BNL was great

    by BNLFAN1 on 2010-04-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Even though steven page has left the band BNL proved they still had it on Wenesday night. What a thrill with a mix of new songs mixed in with old favourites and with a little humour thrown in between

  • BNL hasn't missed a beat

by Waterdownboy on 2010-04-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

They were amazing, even without Page, it's like he was never with the band, BNL rocks!

  • by Anonymous on 2010-04-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

BNL still put on a fantastic show. Don't let the absence of Steve Page keep you away!

  • BNL was sooooo amazing!

by thephotolady on 2010-04-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the new versions of the songs that Steve would normally sing on. It was amazing energy and the audience was going crazy!

  • More of a collective group then ever before

by CoZinON on 2010-04-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

While keeping the traditional antics, comedic, great vocal performance the new BNL has encompassed more of the existing skills of each member in this performance. The performance was great, and in an intimate environment (Hamilton Place) it was unlike any show I've seen them do before. I've been a fan since they had released Gordon and before, playing at places like the Oshawa Civic Aud., and I can honestly say they are just as entertaining if not more then they have ever been. Some of their newer songs I'll admit I never gave a chance upon first hearing them on the new cd, but after this show I've gone back and realize how great they are. A must see if you have the chance.

  • The music was great, the jokes not so much!

by rebski on 2010-04-30Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was good. The sound was of good quality and very clear. It was very enjoyable. The opening act however almost put me to sleep. Apparently Ed got lost, even with a GPS. We got it the first time! The jokes bombed. It was just painful to watch when they attempted to be funny. Just play the music. You are musicians not comediens.

  • by Adifferentnickname on 2010-04-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

I was happy to get to see BNL, but I went wondering why they're still touring, when they really don't need to anymore. Answer? They're having a lot of fun, and so did I. Showmen start to finish, great tunes, and all four showing how talented they are - great band!

  • BNL a hit again!

by Danehouse on 2010-04-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

With a Lady missing I was worried the show wouldn't be the same, but they were just as fun and witty as always. They were looking and sounding great. Just can't beat the Ladies for a all around entertaining performance.

  • Fantastic

    by Sue44 on 2010-04-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

  • FUN Show!!!!

by AndyG on 2010-04-29Hamilton Place Theatre - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

We really enjoyed the BNL show from Joel Plasket right through to the end of the night. It went by quickly! Very good on stage banter and antics, great lighting, great sound, awesome venue and we knew almost every song! Very good value for an entertaining evening.
